  1. I have to disagree with you on that one. I exclusively ride big bikes, pretty much every day and something like 40km daily on avg. During rush hours or at certain congestion points it really sucks, sure. But I still have tons and tons of fun with my bikes. I do have to admit, it's getting worse all the time though. But either way, it's all offtopic.

I am sure this 500cc bike would be a pretty good fit for Phuket.
    I don't consider 500cc a big bike.
    Its a commuter.
Talk to me about litre bikes and you'll peak my interest.

  2. Tank holds 8 litre. If you can only get 11km per litre there was something wrong
As a Vespa lover no doubt that HD is not your thing
    Im talking about highway riding.
Wide open throttle would drain that thing in an hour.
Around town it was better of course but the heat and weight of it was unbearable in traffic.
I gave up big bikes as they are pretty much useless on this island.
Vespa does me fine but i barely ride. I probably do 50kms a week.

  3. I sure you not owned some motorcycle a small tank and a large fuel consumption. Or not really ride them...:)
I owned a Harley sportster 48. Small tank and 1200cc's.
I could not get even 90 kms on a tank.
Useless on Phuket roads and useless for freeway as you need a gas station almost immediately.

That was my first and last Harley.

  4. You did miss the point and you continue to miss the point. And, now you suggest I drive somewhere to drink without suggesting I take a designated driver.

Oh please. Melodramatics are for those with no real retort.

Its the law. If it affects you which i know it doesn't then whats the fuss?

We are talking about an area thats maybe 1km square that has the ban. If that.

    It doesn't affect tourism whatsoever.

Thailand is actually a nation with its own laws .

Complaining about it falls on deaf ears everytime.

Buy early or go to another tambon.

  5. You seem to have missed the point. Foreigners cannot vote, but foreigners cannot drink alcohol because Thai votes were bribed with alcohol?
    I haven't missed anything.
I stated the reason why they ban alcohol for elections.
Either buy it a day before or dry out for a day or drive to another area and have your fill on the day.
We are visitors and have to abide by their laws no matter how ancient they seem.

  6. Just a bit of perspective on this all-engulfing crisis, threatening the very existence of human life in Thailand:
According to the Bureau of Epidemiology statistics, the average human death rate from rabies in Thailand was around 300 annually, in the 1990's. Last year it was 11. So what is this hysteria all about? What's the real agenda?
Dog meat for consumption might become legal.

  7. I understand your pain.
My friend sent me this today. He loves vegemite being Australian and can't bring himself to pay 363 baht for a small 220g jar.
That's 15 dollars in his AUD currency.
He rather go without and smuggle some big jars in next time he goes home.

I used to use Finish tablets for my dishwasher. They are nearly 800 baht a pack of tablets and the powder is near 600 baht.
Now i just wash by hand. Its faster anyway. 1521552138533.jpg

  8. I think you will struggle to find a non Thai psychologist in Phuket.   Out of curiosity, I Googled it, and came up with:

    http://www.phukethospital.com/Health-Centre/Mental-Health-Center.php

I do know that virtually all of the Doctors at Bangkok Hospital Phuket have good to excellent English if it's communication that you're concerned about.
They are too quick to prescribe meds.
They will lump you with all sorts of treatments because big pharmaceuticals pay doctors to prescribe their drugs.

The system here is very similar to the U.S.
Doctors are rewarded for prescribing by companies.

Beware of psych doctors here. They are rogue when it comes to medicating.
