Thanks. I'm so used to the orange extension cords that I usually use in US. They are much better quality than the ones here. I can't seem to find them here. I'll bring them over next time I return to US.

I have been having problem with the multi-plugs I bought in Thailand. They tend to short out or heat up. Where can I buy quality multi-plugs? Also, where can I buy quality extension cords (at least 15 meters)? Can 110V extension cords (from US) be used here as 220V extension cords?

How many liters were rated for those disposable filters? How much are the disposable filters? I'm trying to see is it cheaper to buy water from the machine (0.5 baht/liter) or from the installed water filtering system.

you would have saved 30 usd by transferring to BKK Bank NY. They would have charged you 10, instead of the 40 JPM charged you.
Since reading your post, I have opened an BKK account and have enjoyed the low cost of transferring money from US to Thailand.
Thanks.

Soon I'll moving to Sarapee. I was told that I'll be getting city water. Can anyone recommend a good water filtering system for drinking water?

The international buffet on sunday was to die for.
I wish I had died the night before... (may have been a defamation issue though )
I also like their Sunday buffet.

Is this schedule of activities apply to all 3 days?

Heard that Franklin Graham will hold an Abundant Life Festival in Chiang Mai from Nov. 22 to 24. Does anyone has the schedule of this event?

I went to Gekko with my wife today for lunch. I ordered a spaghetti and meatballs. I did not specify garlic bread nor did the waitress asked me about it. When my order came, it came with garlic bread. I looked at the order slip, it said my order was 119 Bahts (it's their price including garlic bread). Later when I asked for my bill, the bill said my order was 95 Bahts. The price for their spaghetti & meatballs is 99 Bahts. The garlic bread is 20 Bahts. I went ahead and paid my bill without asking any questions. A bit puzzled on how they came to the bill amount.

Does anyone know where I can buy organic alfalfa/lucerne seeds in the Chiangmai area?

I could be wrong, but I think that it is the one across the soi from Boots Drug Store right off of Thapae Road (soi Chang Moi Kao)
Yes, that's their location.

Came across this money exchange by accident (just happen to drive by looking for the best rate). They have the best rate among the banks and exchange booths in the area. The location used to be a massage parlor (in the Google Map Street View). This is their phone number: 053-233-330. You can even call them to check on their latest rate. Just thought that I share this discovery.

i heard somewhere they sold cheese by 100 gram or more pieces but when i went to ask, the waitress didn't know anything about it. anyone know anything about it?
I bought half a kilo of NZ cheddar a couple of weeks ago, it was 225 Baht.
Do you know whether they also sell their roast beef by weight?
I don't know about the roast beef but they sell ham by weight. I'd try it on a Monday and hope the Sunday buffet was quiet and there was plenty of beef left over.
Just called them today. They said they stopped selling meat by weight because they don't have enough to do so.

The phone number for Gekko Garden is 0866486306.
Thanks.

Came across Gekko Garden by accident on a Sunday. Saw their Sunday buffet banner. Went in and was pleasantly surprised by their food and prices. It has become one of my favorite restaurants in Chiang Mai.

Yes. It is my phone.
The AIS package is "AIS 3G one-2-call"
I tried the settings you gave me and it WORKED! I'm now able to browse the Internet. However, when I tried to use the Google Map app in the phone, it said "network unavailable." Google Map is the main app I would like to use since it will help me drive around in Thailand.

Do you know what is the correct APN settings?

I got a Samsung GT B2710 before coming to Chiang Mai. I am using the service of AIS. I can make voice calls, send/receive text messages, and check emails. But I cannot browse Internet; when I select the function, it just shows a blank screen. I also cannot send out text messages with attachments (error message: network error). Any ideas or suggestions on how to enable these functions?

My wife and I went to Chiang Mai Immigration Office for our 90-day report for the 1st time. Arrived 3:02pm. Our number was 680. Number on screen was 663. Waited 32 minutes before our number was called. When we went to the counter, the lady was just processing our paperwork as quickly as she could. So quickly that she did not check our paperwork. She told us that it had been a very busy day for her. She hadn't eat lunch and she needed to go to the bathroom. But she couldn't because there were many people waiting in line. We discovered the day before was a Thai holiday. Next time we will make sure that we won't go after a Thai holiday. Hopefully the wait won't be as long.

What visa did you use to enter Thailand?
Water Heater And Fuse Size
in The Electrical Forum
Posted
Just few days ago, I have the similar problem. The water heater suddenly stopped working. My water heater is Stiebel Eltron AQ 35E. It's rated 230V at 3.5kW. The electrical cable is 4mm. I opened the heater and measured the power. It has power all the way into the heater. But the heater just won't turn on.
Any ideas?
