The building of the first bridge only some years ago was fine and actually great for the locals, so they can easily transfer between Lanta Noi and Lanta Yai, without the need to take ferries.
This planned bridge to the main land will be a different story, I'm afraid. It could do more harm than good for the current vibe of the place. Get ready for tour busses and way to many tourists... if things get back to normal...

What a useless article. Besides not sticking to scientific facts it only creates confusion amongst people that take all which they read for fact and truth.

2 years ago I bought a can of CHANG beer at a 7eleven in Saigon, Vietnam. It was 22 THB... almost half of what it costs here in Thailand...

Mind you all that they are talking about medical grade non (or very slightly) psychoactive CBD cannabis here, without mentioning any THC levels. So comparing this to most recreational THC weed strains and prices is not much use.

Longer quarantine only makes sense if the incubation time is longer. Being more infectious does not mean it takes longer to find it with testing... fear is your worst enemy... in taking the right decisions.

"A clear cryptocurrency regulatory regime is urgently needed..."
Regulate something that was designed to be decentralized? Gangster governments want in on everything..

Things like that usually are an indirect request from officials for some "support" ...

At $17 there's plenty of pocket money left for the generals, if it's not the Moderna vaccine. However, they will be ordering rather small amounts.
A Belgian minister was so publish the prices for the EU on Twitter.
This is the list of what the EU is paying:
-
Oxford/AstraZeneca: €1.78 (£1.61).
-
Johnson & Johnson: $8.50 (£6.30).
-
Sanofi/GSK: €7.56.
-
Pfizer/BioNTech: €12.
-
CureVac: €10.
-
Moderna: $18.

That should be correct, yes. That last line of course leaves room for discussion. Renting out a room in your house would be different from running a home stay kind of accomodation, even with a job on the side. And we all know how rules are interpreted here... don't create opportunities for the bureaucrats ???? A license is not that hard to get for small accommodations.

The WHO and China will walk hand in hand on this. Nothing reliable will come out of the inquiry. China already acknowledged not allowing an international investigation, but the WHO can. Yeah, right...

Is AirBnB legal in Thailand?
Airbnb is certainly legal. Whether or not you are legally renting out your property is a different thing. Short term rentals should have a hotel license, long term rentals don't need this.

Simple solution: airportlink. The trip is quick, convenient and cheap. You can always take a taxi again from a BTS station, if you have to.
Soon it will be the same from DMK.

they have some wonderful deals on bowls and cups you may be interested in for compensation ? shoot them an email see how many bowls they will give you for your refund.
I'd prefer some paa tong goo in the morning, with my coffee :)

They actually still offer to convert the voucher into cash

Something happened here that makes me, unwillingly, think about intentions and "Thai before foreigners", as we see more often unfortunately.
About 6 weeks ago I filed for refunds with THAI Aiways for cancelled flights from July. This refund was already confirmed before the bankruptcy. So now there was a special website and process to still apply for refunds after this bankruptcy situation.
Good news is I received a voucher... but only for my (Thai) wife! Both tickets were on the same booking though.
Please do not make me think that Thais will be refunded first and maybe after that foreigners ????????, THAI Airways! That would be extremely inappropriate and whatever else comes to mind... especially for an international airline/company.
Of course I have sent them a message...no reply yet...
Mindboggling this...

Of course that wouldn't work, with all the double parking going on already ????

A relief to see a very well written article (please take note The Nation/TV), but at the same time remembering us of the sad truth.
Knee jerk decisions, twisting and turning and some unexplainable plan making by this government, has brought irreparable damage to the tourist industry and the country.

How so?
I've been flying with them for years... always great. Especially good schedules to and from Netherlands... not direct to Eindhoven though ????
For the last weeks they've been flying every day out of BKK

Sadly it’s well known to expats who live in Krabi that most of the locals really don’t like foreigners. Many families have become rich selling family land and would be happy if tourism closed down.
Gossip, BS, unfounded... Been in Krabi long enough to know...

I think this article is full of sh¡t... I know quite a few hotels that are actually currently having foreigners.
Also "Manager Online" is not the media I'd get my information from... biased, unprofessional journalism... if you can even call it that.

Your posting about Europe was absolutely incorrect. They now have spikes in COVID numbers due to the protest.

Just now, steven100 said:Exactly ! He is correct in every statement made as it serves absolutely no benefit in hold a protest with hundreds or a thousand Thai's all close together and not adhering to any social distancing or COVID transmission safety requirements.
The protestors will only exasperate and diminish their plight. They will do more harm than good toward their cause.
I'm worried about you... Did you attend one of the reeducation bootcamps here in Thailand?
Let me break it to you... it will be TENS of thousands out there. And the risk of transmission in the open air will be next to nothing. Pinocchio doesn't know what he's talking about.
Your great leader and his corrupted government have been wrecking the economy so far, so there can only be benefit in trying to get them to step down. Anyone that favours submarines over the wellbeing of the people should see a psychiatrist.
Don't forget to brush up your medals and shoes for this weekend.

No, wait. Does England not have over 3000 new infections per day, does England not have a testing system that is about to collapse, does England not have resurgent city by city lockdowns, does England not have the threat of curfews being imposed???
Why would anyone in their right mind want to go to this shambolic mess of a country!
I'm sorry to be so much on the details, but it is partially the reason of misunderstanding and misinformation in this COVID crazed era.
3000 "infections" in your words (and much of the media's) would actually mean 3000 positive tests. Whether or not these people are infected or infectious is a whole different matter.
It's just another example of how data is misinterpreted, which adds to the confusion and fear.
Not saying by the way that there is nothing to worry about in the UK.

That's just for starters.
Refrain from giving advise to people when you dont know what you're talking about. You just add to the confusion some people go through trying to get something started here. A couple can start a partnership with only 2 million in capital.
And to answer the OP's question:
You could own a business like this, but you'd probably be very limited at actively running it and selling your cars. Cash handling and language would be major issues, just to name a few. If you insist, buy 1 car and try selling it. If you succeed, buy another. I wouldn't advise running a serious 2nd hand car business as a foreigner.

Thai tourism industry to focus on safety, cleanliness, sustainability and not taking advantage of tourists
in Thailand News
Posted
Regarding safety: Instead of the occasional zip line incident, better start off with racing minivan drivers and unlicensed, macho speedboat "captains".
Cleanliness and sustainability: Krabi, where I live, is all about (marine) national parks. Garbage piles up here and there around the tourist town of Ao Nang and filthy water is disposed off straight into the ocean. The same goes for Phi Phi.
For not taking advantage of tourists, you indeed might want to go after dual pricing. But also do not forget about gang banging taxi mobs and the jacked up restaurant and bar bills.
Message me, Mr. Pipat, when you're done with these, and I'll mail you the rest of the list. ????????
