  1. Good news, got my flight rerouted and didn't cost me anything as stated in the CSA Facebook post.

Notice of China Southern Airlines Ticket Arrangement

Turns out the travel Agents (Mytrip also trading as gotogate.com ) were pulling a fast one by telling me that CSA were not rerouting anyone and only issuing refunds, then trying to get me to accept the refund and buy a new ticket off of them, all this despite my telling them about the facebook post and that I had received emails stating that not only was rerouting possible but also there was no charge to do so, one woman got arsey when I told her this insisting that Mytrip were receiving continuous updates from CSA saying that rerouting was not possible only refunds.  I offered to forward the emails but they were not interested, saying that they only did re bookings over the phone.

    Thanks again tomazbodner & Eindhoven

  2. Subject: China Southern Airlines Cancelled my flight to London Heathrow Via Wuhan because of Corona Virus.

    Hi Guys,
I need some advice on what to do next, I'm in Thailand and was due to fly back to the UK on February 9th from Bangkok  Suvarnabhumi, to Wuhan and then onto London Heathrow, this is now not possible due to the Corona Virus outbreak and Wuhan being quarantined.

I contacted my Travel Agent, though they seem more interested in getting me a refund & selling me a return flight home.

    Questions I have,

Is it possible to get rerouted via  Guangzhou and from there to London Heathrow? (I flew from Heathrow into Guangzhou and then Bangkok on my outward flight) i.e Do airlines do this?

Are China Southern responsible for arranging my return flight or do they just have to refund me and I find and pay for my own flight back to the UK?

If the quarantine is lifted before my original return date of February 9th will my return ticket still be valid?

Would my travel insurance pay for the return ticket back to the UK?

Any answers and suggestions would be of great help and much appreciated.

    TIA

  3. Made the journey & yes, there are Vans & Bus's to Mo Chit 2 Northern Bus Terminal.

Mini Vans leave on the hour, 7:30 was the first one I Saw.

First bus leaves at 8:30 and costs 221Bht, I took this for the leg room.

There are now Baht Bus's/ Songthaew's going to & from the border to the temporary bus station, pick up & drop off from outside, or close to the 7-11 at Aran.

  4. Hi Guys,
I'm staying at a Temple in the countryside in the Phayuha Khiri district & the washing machine filter here is getting blocked due to particles/dirt in the water here and I'm wondering if it's possible to put a filter in before the hose attaches to the machine to save wear and tear on the machine connector?

Has any one else has had this problem and remedied it & if so how?

    Any constructive advice appreciated.

    TIA

They had a move around a few years ago, I used to walk 4/5 minutes from the border to take a mini van to Pattaya, as I said above, now you have to take the Baht truck from outside the 7-11 to the temporary bus station.

" They all start at the same bus terminal in Aran. "

Is that the bus terminal I mentioned? It looks like it was (Or still is) a covered Market at one point, lots of people sitting at desks for all the different routes, both Mini Vans & Buses run from there.

  6. Can I get a Bus or a van from the border at Aranyaprathet direct to to Mo Chit 2 Northern Bus Terminal? and if not can anyone give me directions how to make this trip?

In the past I've gotten a Mini Van from the temporary bus station to Pattaya (Take the baht truck from outside the 7-11 at the border) and I'm wondering if I could take a Bus or Van from here?

    TIA

  7. Thank you ubonjoe, jacko45k, DrJack54 for your replies

    I'll have a 60 day tourist visa.

I wont be getting an extension.

"But if you have no other reason to attend immigration is it necessary?"

"Why do you need to do a tm30."

Wanted to get it done as I'll be putting the address's on my visa application and didn't want to cause any problems (Possibly)

Again thanks for your replies  ????

  8. Hope you don't mind me piggy backing on this thread?

I'll be staying at a Temple, though the last time I was there, the Abbot did not have the time to go and register me (It would take the best part of the day to go to the Immigration office & back) will he be able to register me using the above link?  I'm asking as it was not possible to do so last year.

    TIA

  9. Hi Guys,

    Couple of questions about TM30.

I'll be staying at a friends condo who will be in the UK while I'm there, is it possible for me to register myself and if so, what documents would I need?

Kind of same thing, I'll later be staying at a Temple, though the last time I was there the Abbot did not have the time to go and register me (It would take the best part of the day to go to the Immigration office & back) So again, is it possible I can do this myself, and if so what documents would I need?

    TIA

Immigration themselves rarely check, it's your airline who may give you issues and not let you board.

    A few options:-

    • Do nothing until you are rejected then buy a cheap flight from BKK to somewhere (research where so you can do it online from the airport).
    • Buy a cheap ticket to somewhere you'd like to visit outside Thailand before going to the airport (less stressful than the above).
    • Book your initial return flights within 30 days then change them (potentially costly).
    • The airline may let you sign a waiver saying that you will cover the cost of the return flight if you are denied entry to Thailand.

China Southern Airlines let me sign a waiver, though had to wait for a supervisor as the check in girls were very "Computer said no" once the supervisor arrived he had no problems letting me board.

There were no problems boarding with Oman air, my trip is for 86 days using the visa exempt system, Thailand, Cambodia, Thailand.

  11. Hi Guys
I need to get a certificate of residence in order to open a bank account here.

I've already been told by the bank that they will open an account for me if I obtain one.

Though am unsure of how to fill in the form ( TM18 Form PDF) does anyone have a link to a form that has been filled in?

This is probably a simple task for most but I'm dyslexic, have OCD and I get stuck on details to the point of not being able to progress past sections I am unable to fill in.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    TIA

PS I am in Pattaya and have a copy of my rent agreement and a signed copy of the Landlords ID card.

The last report, I believe the fellow gave his passport to the agent in SR on Sunday, and got his passport back, from the Consulate in Phnom Penh, on Thursday afternoon - so I would give myself a week, to be on the safe side.  The formerly available "rush" service, for an extra fee, may no longer be available (wasn't from my agent on last check - but might be again or via select agents).

Thanks for that Jack, I'll get that done the first week I am there
