Three edicts issued to tighten controls on use of cannabis in food
pattjock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Completely useless rules. Most food and drinks are prepared with raw or dried products with un-known THC/CBD concentration so the concentration in the end product will no be known. As above, what is the unit of contents: per kg, per plate, per serving, per liter, per plate??? How is this being controlled by the authorities ??? Any law that can not be controlled is useless. -
So now they blame the pollution on cooler temperatures!! Burning is going on and have increased, as usual this time of the year. This is where it has been burning for the last 5 days in Thailand: https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/map/#t:adv;d:2022-10-14..2022-10-18;@101.1,15.0,6z

What sidewalks, they have all been removed from walking street!! -
It would make sense if it was a tax on rice, vegetables, eggs, pork or chicken. To delay a tax on Coca-Cola is just ridiculous.

Should the Thai government ban mobile use for motorcyclists?
pattjock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Correct. Here is a Google translation of the original Thai document Road Traffic Act(No. 13) 2016 that superseded the 2008 Road Traffic Act: Section 43. No driver shall drive a vehicle: (9) while using a mobile phone except for using a mobile phone without the driver having to hold it or seize that mobile phone as prescribed by the National Police Commissioner.” -
Enforcement of Thailand’s new safety belt law pending edict from police
pattjock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Do they ever look at what laws they already have on their books? ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, B.E. 2522 (1979).1 Section 123.24 No driver of vehicle shall allow more than two other persons to sit on the front row seat next to the driver. The driver of vehicle must fasten up his or her body with seatbelt while driving, and must render the passenger sitting on the front row seat next to the driver to fasten up his or her body with seat belt while traveling. And the passenger traveling in such conveyance must also fasten up his or her body with seat belt. As for backseats in a pick-up I'm pretty sure you are not allowed to use the backseat in a 2 door pick-up, especially if it has a business registration. It is clearly stated in the Blue Book how many persons the car is registered for. Would be interesting if someone with a 2 door pick-up could check their blue book and let us know. -
Condo Owner Fined Over 140,000 Baht For Keeping A Pet In The Unit
pattjock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I prefer to live in a condo that ban animals compared to a house surrounded by other houses with noisy dogs that you can do nothing about. Most condo rules are there to make it nicer to live in the condo and they have been voted in by a majority of the condo owners. You are not living under the thumb of regulations, you are enjoying the environment the regulations create. Lesson to learn is to read the regulations before buying or renting. Don,t buy in to a condo that bans pets if you want to have a pet. -

Search on for tourist wanted for illegal fishing in southern marine park
pattjock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Technically the captain of the vessel is responsible for what is going on. If he took a tourist on an illegal fishing trip he is the culprit not the tourist just because he is a foreigner.- 80 replies

To black out car windows to avoid being caught not wearing seat belts should not be an option as the level of blackout is restricted by law, but as usual, here in Thailand, not enforced. As far as I can remember you are not allowed to black out front or rear windscreens and only minimal blackout is allowed on the sides. Over 90% of cars have illegal amount of blackout. I have seen tons of child car seats in second hand stores for next to nothing.

Chadchart: Of 83 Problematic Pubs In Bangkok, 49 Are In Chatuchak
pattjock replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
How are you going to stop corruption if you have defamation laws that will bankrupt anyone that say anything bad about anyone, even if it is true ??? They must scrap or re-write the defamation law and give whistle blower protection if they ever want to get rid of the rampant corruption that exist in Thailand.
