  1. First of all cocktails between 99 and 149 baht are not too much.

The owner have a work permit to run a bar? I guess not.

    The bar had several options:

    - Call the police and let the Thai staff handle. OWNER not here.

    - Play it hard... Ask one of the girls to come inside and then threaten her. Take pictures.

    - Play it hard... get mad and bang on the table

    - Play it hard... have thé motorcycle to handle it

    - Play it hard... Show your own wooden stick

last thing to do is to let them go... which your staff did. If you expect those guests to be still in town tell your employee she is responsible. She will find the way to get the money back.

Don't be weak. Show what you are worth or your running a bar adventure will quickly turn sour.

Ps: you also need to show your staff you are strong. Who knows these girls are related to your staff

    Good luck!

  2. The current BCA (Australia) requirements are that a balcony balustrade have the following attributes:

The top of the railing must be least 1 metre (1000mm) from the ground.

Any opening must not allow a 125mm sphere (ie childs head) to pass through. So the vertical components must not be more than 125mm apart.

The gap between the balcony surface to the bottom rail must be no more than 100mm.

For balconies with a fall height of more than 4m there must not be any horizontal or near horizontal elements between 150mm and 760mm above the floor that facilitate climbing.

    or: http://www.flagvictory.com/

    http://www.flagvictory.com/international_nation_flag.html

Do you need a specific flag?

I hate people that don't read the OP request and then reply... can't you read? A union flag, a Bob Marley flag and a Russian flag... read next time pleazzzzzzze !

  4. Ok you made your point. Kill them all if necessary cause they are protesting.

No, again. I want them arrested. But if they resist they should be met with deadly force if necessary. How is that difficult for you to understand?

You think and talk like someone from a backward country. In the modern world we don't just kill. That's a question 9 evolution of the mind from the human kind. Only backward countries amd people kill others so easily because they have different opinions.

Reminds me of those rich hi-so's.. so they pretend... but actually behave without decent manners cause they don't have them.

  5. Sadly owning any car worth having in Asia is rife with problems especially if you expect it to be pristine 100% of the time.

If is is simply a scratch then owning a BMW in itself would suggest you can afford to have it repaired yourself. Asking someone else to pay to have it repaired is an admission of insufficient funds to do it yourself. aka Lose of face.

She is probably amazed that you even have to ask.

Not saying this is right but...

What a BS are you writing? Only loosers v think the way you do. She scratched his car so she (or her insurance) has to pay for it. Simple as that, even in Thailand. Your lose face story is bull s.

  6. One thing I forgot. That the girl ignores you is totally unacceptable, she should at least wai you. That is the norm in the Thai families I know.

The fact that she does not greet or Wai you very disrespectful. She might think you are just a stupid farang... That no one of the That's around you correct her on this has perhaps something to do with their perception of you. You can't change that although you should make clear who is the boss. YOU are! That's also the culture of Thailand.

I just hope you are not seen as another ATM not noticing what's going on around him.

    Good luck!

  7. Recently, I read other posts in ThaiVisa re this issue.

    I highly recommend -

"Camerata's Guide to Thai Permanent Residency Process" .

When I read it (unfinished), there were 2169 replies - more than 60 pages. I suggest that you allocate at last 2 days to read this post!

Obviously, many of us have a strong interest in PR.I am still confused - I will read about Thai Citizenship before making any decisions.

Hey CNX, I think we concluded already that in your case you should just stick to retirement visa. Safe yourself the frustrations.

For the money you also safe you can buy motorcycles and Christmas dinners till your last breath...

    cheers

  8. PERMANENT RESIDENCY (PR) is reserved for the so called "heavily desirable" foreigners. So unless you bring something impressive to the country and qualify according to the checklist from immigration, there is no chance. I doubt that an income of 30,000 or even 80,000 will suffice. You need to be sponsored/recommended by the company you are working for and they will (also) need to provide lost of documents.

It's a lengthy process and reserved for a few privileged (in the eyes of Thai)...

    Good luck!

  9. Take her father a bottle of decent malt-whisky, to show respect & demonstrate that you're suitably respectful/generous/financially-solid, and ask your GF's opinion about what to give her mother.

Relax.... the whisky is a good one but not necessary. Flowers for the mother is the best gift...

Don't lower yourself too much. Be confident, mature. You are already 40 past.

Be friendly and soft. Don't show off but be friendly. Don't start to argue...

Hey, this relationship is only going for a couple of months, don't you think it is far too early to talk about marriage?

My advice: never marry as long as you are still in puppy love. Real love takes time.

Good luck and enjoy the visit and...

As we all made the effort to give you a colorful advice, please be so kind to inform us how it went...

    Cheers

  10. Oh yay, jailtime for a $50 bag of Thai grass.

The world is such a safer place now.

    Poor bastard.

Nothing to do with that......Is the stuff legal or not in LOS.............Yes/No........rolleyes.gif

It is illegal and a class 5 narcotic. In walking street they always try to sell ypu drugs: in front of the open bar on the left, with a loud band. It's just after the holy Tree and about opposite FLB bar. Another spot is at the end of walking street, in front of the last hotel. Here they often sell from a food cart and plain on the street. You are warned, never buy: jail is no fun!

  11. You have two options:

    1. Choose a dish that is not made with chilli such as Fried Rice (Khaw Phad) with Chicken (Khaw Phad Kai), pork (Khaw Phad Moo), prawns (Khaw Phad Kung) or Noodle dishes (Khew tiou) with Chicken, Pork,

    Prawn.

    2. You can explain that you don't like spicy

Click the highlighted links and then the speaker icon, you can learn how to pronounce in Thai.

Sorry not very comprehensive suggestions, but will keep you away from 7-11 and McDonalds for a few days

Are you one of those teachers who never listen or fully read and ready with their smart answer? OP mentioned he is not a fan of RICE...!

  12. CNX... to be able to get PR you need to have 3 years of consecutive stay in Thailand. You also need a company to sponsor you. The PR file is about 6 inches thick. If you are married to a Thai the fee you mentioned is correct. The single status fee you mentioned is also correct. But you need to add several other costs for translations, facilitation, start up fee of almost 8.000 etc... hence it cost me about 250 k.

Advantage: you can buy a condo with money that does not need to come from abroad.

NO you can not buy land.

YES you still need a work permit and the jobs available are only those as authorized to foreigners.

You need an endorsement/multiple entry visa at currently 3900 per year if you plan to travel abroad.

Save yourself all the trouble of all interviews, language tests, multiple documents, fingerprinting, stress, high fees and no guarantee etc... (Due to changes in government it took me 5 years and I was decently sponsored).

I would not do it again and if I would have known I would not have done it. Simply Too expensive for what you get compared to other options.

This is just my opinion after having gone through it, living and working here.

  13. Tipping the delivery driver will make his day. He will tell everyone in the store, and come home tell his wife about his awesome day. I tip in the usa $5 in good weather and $6-10 if the weather is bad. I cannot see myself ever tipping less even if in thailand. So minimum 150 bahts.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

I do tip and I am happy to make someone happy. But timing 150 thb is ridiculously high. That is spoiling the market and in my view over tipping is not a sign of respect. It's showing off and showing power... I think we have enough of that in Thailand. TIP: Tip 40-60 baht to the delivery Guy will make you look nice, and not like ignorant "farang".
