  1. Since when has it been Hi-Tech to fly a remote-controlled plane or helicopter. <deleted>Sakes, I was doing this 40 years ago.

    Hi-Tech my ass.

Edit: I built my own balsa wood radio-controlled gliders, that could fly miles and miles (song comes to mind), and they're much quieter than a toy with a motor.

OOOH Nooo! A revolutionary idea I've offered to Thai mafia. sad.png

Drugs stored in the nose, as opposed to lead, of course. giggle.gif

If they really want to get smart then do as I did as a kid also, learn how to make a French arrow, and throw it 200m, high over the wall....

Crap you were flying a drone 40 years ago with capability to carry a decent payload.

  2. So, some guy who is successful enough to have made it by 40, to be wealthy beyond the imagination of the author of this Phuket news drivel, to be smarter and richer and contribute more to Thailand than a hundred of the ilk of this author or a truck full of immigration office [removed], who happens to be too young for a retirement visa, who spends more on hotels than this dumb author can imagine, is automatically feckless because he has too many stamps in his passport?

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

For every 1 like this, there are 300 who are living on a shoe string getting by.

Easy, you got cash and your young?? There is a visa for that !!!!!

  3. "...we look forward to a liberalization of business regulations for higher-quality foreigners."

More money = higher quality. That's offensive. At least the writer is upfront about it.

Screw that guy. I'm not working, I'm retired at 48, 46 when I got here. I have a mess of in and out stamps under my tourist visas before I switched to ED.

I get cracking down on people who are working illegally, but lumping those of us who have done NOTHING illegal, who simply are not old enough for a retirement visa is stupid.

    What a dick.

your not a migrant ? so why think you are!!!!! want to live here ??? get the right visa, ignorant to the extreme mate

  4. Now they will be banning alcohol on Thai Airways.

No, I don't think it will go that far.

May be it should. I don't see why people must have the right to get drunken everywhere and every time.

No need to ban the alcohol, some enjoy a couple of drinks and are harmless during flights. Others drink until stupid. Ban them or cut them off.

These guys were hooking in to their own duty free thats against the law. You cannot consume your own on board. Its just plain feral behaviour.

  5. Seriously this is the crap leaving or country everyday and giving us a bad rep around the world. I can put my hand on my heart and say of all the people I carry on my flights. Aussies are the worst behaved, worst attired and just plain feral passengers in the sky. Looking for aussies overseas just look for badly dressed (footy shorts, singlet top, loads of body art and flip flops) drunk loud mouths and you can't go wrong. Time ferals who behave like this on flights or overseas lost there passport for 10 years.

  6. I come to Thailand every winter for 6 months from the UK for the last 10 years.I had non "O" 2times when it was easier and now use triple tourist visas.I work offshore so i can go away for 6 months and get away from the winter and have plenty of cash to spend in LOS.

I have used extensions a few times to stay extra months also.I will apply for the same visa this time when i come.I have 2 used triple visas in my newish passport with 1 extension.I use the Ranong crossing as it is near the island i stay at.

I understand the reason they are cracking down on 30 day exempt, but on the same hand border runners are not breaking any laws in that respect. If it was illegal it would not be allowed, but it is not illegal.

If i stay 2 months and do a run for the 2nd and 3rd entry and return on the same day that is also not illegal as the visa allows it.If i want to extend it for 30 more days that is also not illegal as they allow it and inform us on their consulate sites that it is ok to do that.

There seems to be no consistency in their administry of the new rules. They should limit the multiple exempt to just one 30 day entry. They should ask for more evidence of funds when issuing the tourist visa in our home countries,or only issue single entry 60 day visas and not allow another until 30-60 days after it has expired.Plenty of people who work in their own country often go away for the winter months to be in a better climate to relax and have fun.Not everyone is in LOS to work illegally or stay illegally.

All i ask is for the rules to be consistent and clear so we can all abide by the rules.

Not so much to ask is it?

100% understand you but effectively your living half you life in Thailand and not a tourist as such.

    Easy fixed, get legal

    get legal ?

    He is already legal.

    A tourist.

He would be illegal if he used visas others than tourist.

Illegal are the people with work permits who are not working.

He's not a tourist, he spends half his life here for a decade and the other half working offshore.

He is living here 5 of the last 10 years.

  8. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

Walked along the beach yesterday. Dodged the motorbikes, jet ski's and pickups. Rubbish everywhere, the only bins are right at the back along the road side. Disgusting. It was just as dirty at Surin and Kamala the week before.

Tourists laying on towels amongst the mess. alt=thumbsup.gif>

Maybe they can get the people from the overcrowded jails in Phuket town on a chain gang and clean the place up, make them give something back to the community.

This Island is going to sink under the weight of trash! alt=bah.gif>

YEP! This is why Thailand will never be a world-class destination. Thais don't get it. They are perfectly happing living amid rubbish and disarray. I'm amazed because they keep themselves so clean (I have never come across a bad-smelling Thai). But while they are meticulous about their personal appearance and the cars they drive if they can afford one, they keep messy dirty homes for the most part and have no concept of aesthetics.

You just don't know the right Thai's. I know plenty that are so happy the army is getting to work fixing dozens of problems. Most are happy to stay under military rule forever. Its the only way to keep corruption down.

  9. Thai people need to learn more about food safety, I don't know how some people don't get sick when I see raw meat hanging for the whole day?

Thai people + long term expats who went native up to a certain degree will have a higher resistance level than tourists from western countries. Likewise: Citizens of oh so clean Singapore frequently get problems when holidaying in neighboring Malaysia and Indonesia.

Thai families often tend to store ready cooked food in a cupboard instead of in the fridge where it will dry out.

Don't want to deny though that the person responsible for serving this food to these children, obviously didn't know what he/she was doing. One simple trick if you are not sure about meat, is to put a little bit of it in front of a cat. If the cat walks away after briefly sniffing, it is not good anymore.

Cat sniffing meat ? sorry but thats total crap

  10. I see everyone so far is complaining about the Chinese picking on a 'good boy' Australian. No smoke without fire, are you sure it was not an unprovocted attack ? what about a drunk aussie mouthing off ? seen that too many times.

Just because the father thinks his boy is good does not make it so. Posters also claim the Chinese are spoilt rich kids but the Aussie isnt ? Get real, probably the attacked is a spoilt rich kid too, dont see to many poor aussies kids living in Thailand.

Every weekend drunk youths get into fights all around the world but the posters here want to string the perps up, ruin their future.....how many of those never got into a drunken fight ?

Never seen so many hang them high brigade in one place until I started reading Thaivisa forums, what right have you to judge especaly when you have only one side of the story by a naive parent.

Ever seen a young bloke king hit on the dance floor or in a club because the girls like him?

Local word is that he was getting on well with a young lady and the young Chinese guy had his eye on the same lady.

Jealousy got the better of him and he smashed him in the face with a bottle or glass ashtray from side on.

They will get a conviction out of this, just give it a few more weeks.

  11. A stupid move by the government. The tourist should be able to relax and have food delivered, get a massage on the beach, have chairs and umbrellas available for use. But it should be regulated. Rent should be charge for use. number of sellers reduced and the price of chairs and umbrellas set so tourist are not overcharged.

There will be regulation and a new system set up. The removal of all mafia styled occupation of public land will cease first.

  12. You would hardly call the hordes of Englush.,Aussie,German etc tourists high end either - tourists come hear because it's cheap!

Per head of person they still would spend triple or more in the Thai economy.

All paid in china with meals and accommodation with tours.

Very little spending money per person is used on these tours.

Screaming, spiting, pissing, farting and thats just in the hotel lobby.

Best one is consuming mini bars and refusing to pay as they claim its a free gift.

  13. I had the misfortune of getting a taxi at Swampy in 2008 to take me to Don Muang.

I had almost 3 hours to make my flight.

    I missed it

The fool of a pig farmer / rice grower got lost, he took me to a hotel miles from where I was going and wanted me to pay for his stuff up

After the police came he just smiled and said sorry

I think it would be great if some education was given to the taxi drivers so they know where they are going

97% know the city very well, you were just very unlucky

  14. Good idea and give the owner a zap too

Not sure if anyone mentioned electrical cattle prod devices for humans. High Voltage will knock a man down for while ( I used to own one at 220,000 volts and it worked well). One thing I noticed was animals were scared of it when it was turned on as it makes a popping noise when the sparks fly. I have been looking for one of these and today found it in khon kaen. It is a flash light with metal parts in the lens that spark when activated. I would not have know but I heard the crackle of sparks and went to see what it was. 600 baht for this thing can put down the dog or other large mammal if need be. Maybe a good thing to have on a bike, the crackle may be enough but if not...zap em. They won't forget you.

  15. I mentioned this before, had 2 vicious dogs try to bit me for weeks on my bicycle, I brought a pepper spray for 200 baht at the markets and when they came chasing my bike.

One spray to the face was like a lighting strike, they now avoid me at all costs. It 100% works
