  1. What a laugh. I am appalled that the authorities involved, especially the brown clowns, can hold their heads up in pride for this thinly-veiled charade.

    'Brown clowns' haha

That's great! A little unfair to real, decent, hard-working clowns though I think.

Well, they may actually be more entertaining (not necessarily funnier) than the run-of-the-mill circus variety. I mean, some of the crap the brown clowns come up with beggars believe! Most of the time, you can't make that sh|te up!

  2. Assuming the authorities are serious about protecting tourists and 'Thailand's tourist image' (aka FACE), they should start protecting the right kind of tourists. Assuming the story is as it is, this idiot not only deserved the knuckles in his face, but should have been thrown into the lockup for a bit. You won't do this back home, why the hell did you think it was ok to act like this here?

  3. "State Railway of Thailand governor Wutthichart Kalyanamitr assured that the SRT had its own security measure in place at Hua Lampong railway station to ensure safety for passengers."

Yet a bottle-bomb can be left lying around, to be picked up and used as ashtray, to say the least. Your 'own security measure... to ensure safety for passengers."???

You really are taking us for idiots, aren't you?

  4. Good job. Swift justice - but only applicable to those who are not as well-connected or higher up the food-chain as some other Thai 'drivers'.

This man needs to be put away for what he did, but if the brown clowns think this saves their sorry faces from their inaction in other cases, they're wrong. Everytime they go around beating their chests about how they've basically done a good job, they're actually underlining their ineptness and in the process, ripping their own faces off by the chunks.

  5. So, let me get this straight - if nobody leaked the video, this incident would've gone unnoticed, the culprits wouldn't have been caught and all will be well. Face saved, tourist dollars continue to pour in. TWO WEEKS have gone by and if the video was not leaked, nothing in the way of justice would have happened!!! Not that justice is served now. A 'wai' and THB500 fine. What a complete farce. And now the hunt to save face has commenced.

  6. The plane depicted in the picture in not a 777 who has 3 rows of seats, more likely a 737 variety....

but for the local repotting the incident it's close enough.....

Can you tell that from the picture? Could the seats on the right hand side of the picture just be the middle bank of 3 or 4 seats?

If you look at the bank of overhead compartments on the top right of the picture (not just the seats), they are of the 'centre-mounted' type, normally installed above centre-row seats. This suggests that the aircraft in the picture is a twin-aisle aircraft, or a wide-body aircraft. The B777 mentioned in the article is a wide-body, so I think the picture could be the right one.

  7. So, stay away from places frequented by 'farangs'... i.e. those from countries aligned with attacking IS. Then now, stay away from places full of mainlander Chinese. And Russians. Roads are dangerously full of drunk idiots during Songkran, so stay off it too. And the weather is going to be very hot, so don't stay out too long. RIght... so it's off to Tesco for a few crates, bottles and essential nutritional supplies (food) and plan to stay in for the week.
