A great idea , this will have the numbers thru Swampy skyrocketing, unfortunately for TAT the increase will only be at the departure gates.
But hang on, maybe this is a joint venture WITH TAT to ensure that they do not miss their "projected" increase in Middle Eastern and Arab tourist, who as everyone knows never touch alcohol.
You are wrong my friend. There are a lot of "Muslim Lights" hanging around at the British Club in Bahrein enjoying their Scotch from as early as 10'o cock in the morning. All of them wearing a towel with a black ribbon around their head. See for yourself.
Was sarcasm my friend sarcasm
I know. I live in Hat Yai and every weekend you can see those, who get out of their frocks and caps, get dressed in white shirts, black trousers, and enjoy the night life here. Latest on Sunday there are all gone, back to Kelantan, wearing their caftan again, sipping on tea and praising Allah for the wonderful weekend.
Speaking of which, Malaysia, which has Islam as its official religion (apparently they're NOT a Muslim country, just has Islam as the official religion - go figure), and which bans Muslims from drinking alcohol, DOES NOT ban alcohol sale or public consumption of it (as long as you don't do it within the compound of, say, a mosque). Alcohol sale in restaurants, bars, pubs and convenience stores goes on as usual 365 days a year - regardless of what the next day is. They just have very stringent police road blocks to sniff out drunk drivers and they have a less corrupt police force (I did NOT say NOT corrupt) that is able to enforce the law more effectively. This does not mean Malaysia is perfect - far from it. They have their fair share of stupid and silly problems but at least they don't ban alcohol sale and consumption like Thailand does. Then again, Malaysia is one of the world's most expensive place to drink due to the alcohol taxes, so I guess the government doesn't want to upset that revenue stream...

How are they going to implement attitude adjustment on the international community that offer dissenting views?

These nitwits are really sitting on whatever is left of a brain.

Why should the alarms be ringing? This should hardly come as a surprise.

Note to 'The Nation'........ an invite is not worthy of a headline, the acceptance would be. Please stop cluttering the bandwidth with trivia. Thank you.
Then there will be nothing to read! C'mon... leave it be. A little bit of a laugh a day won't hurt now would it? Hehehe

'Fatty Kim' then?

Thailand is a leader in special education in Asean... really?

We'll soon be eating rotten rice passed off as fresh rice. Shees... how can one reverse rot, if this is what it is? Is this the mother of all scams???
-
In other words... "I'll be nice, friendly and 'jai yen yen' if you ask questions that are easy or make me look good."
Seriously, General Sir...

This predilection with 'quality' and 'high-end' tourists is both crass and downright tasteless,
-
DIdn't the prosecutors throw the case out because of 'lack of evidence' or something like that? Some atttitude adjustment went on behind the scenes, I'd venture
-
Well done! More pats on the backs for these people please. Everybody should also be rewarded... above and beyond what was already offered
On a separate note, to any
nitwitsmembers who think I meant what I said (wrote) - I don't. If you don't understand, look up 'sarcasm' in the dictionary. -
Does the 'rebranding' and 'repositioning' simply mean revising the entrance fees and prices upwards to take advantage of (literally) the high-spending, high-quality tourists? Assuming the even come here, to start with. Thailand oh Thailand... sighs.

"... the man was tall, between 180 and 190 cm, was wearing only swimming shorts and had a tattoo featuring a swastika on the left calf, suggesting he might be a Westerner."
Asians will NEVER be as tall as 180 cm (never mind 190), and will NEVER have a swastika tattoo. Ever.
Why do these people insist on opening their mouths???
Go and meet some Tamils.
I also once had a Thai building laborer working for me who was practically as tall as I am (1.93), extremely nice guy and very convenient for heavy duty jobs.
Hey... do you even read before you post, or are you just another trigger-happy-fire-from-the-hip poster like some of them here? Don't need to harp on my original post. Read the previous one in reply of another <deleted>. While you'er at it, click on the link and read up about 'sarcasm'. Sheesh...

:Asians will NEVER be as tall as 180 cm (never mind 190)" - see link below.
"Why do these people insist on opening their mouths???" - above link leaves me asking myself, "why did you open yours?"
Thanks for the link. Good efforts, although unnecessary, I'm afraid. It seems you didn't get the sarcasm in my post. Never mind. Try not to feel too bad about opening that gap of yours. It happens. It's not your fault, you poor thing. We all make mistakes. You're lucky I have some time on my hands. I'd like to help you out a bit. Check out the following link:

Specific to your case, read the first paragraph under the section 'Understanding'.
Now... I hope you're ok... good luck!

Wait for a statement from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation first. Else this is just hot crap, just them trying to be the world's first in everything and to be the hub of all hubs. Sorry, but given how the Thais have, of late, spoken on behalf of almost everyone - inaccurately I must add - anything coming from them is best filed under the 'Lame Jokes' folder until a more credible source backs up the 'claims'.

In line with what zebra-crossings are in Thailand... mere decorations to break up the monotony.

Not a supporter of YL, but the dear leader isn't exactly taking the high road either. Needs a bit of growing up - both of them.
-
Incredible, that said the Thais who work with me thought it was real. They didn't ask my opinion about it strangely
Really??? Sheesh...
As for asking for your opinion, I guess they didn't because they assumed you'd be smart enough to know it's fake and will say so, which will torpedo their perfect nirvana out of the water.

Too sweet. The video almost gave me diabetes... LOL
On a serious note, I really can't understand why Thailand doesn't clean up its act and have a sustainable tourism-based revenue stream, instead of coming up with shortsighted and half-arsed ideas all the time. Are these people not capable of anything more serious than plain fluff?

RIP. Sorry to hear about this. As an aside, and I could be wrong, but I thought pulmonary edema and pneumonia are both treatable? No wisecrack attempts here. It's an honest question to medical experts in the forum.

The F1 race in Thailand next year is still to proceed right?
TBF, having the F1 which travels around the globe is probably a distinct possibility in the coming years should Red Bull continue to have participate and have a measure of success.
Not sure what the high society types from around the world will make of the facilities, F&B, accommodation provision etc in Buriram though.
Not to mention health care provision for drivers.
Err... how about Thailand having the cure for ebola? That would be a unique selling point where healthcare provision is concerned, no?
