This is a little different to an article I read yesterday.

The government have been requesting that content be removed from Google and other social media sites without a court order on a case by case basis. The reasoning is that it takes too long to go through the legal proceedings required to obtain such orders.

I read elsewhere that facebook mentioned the possibility of withdrawing service from Thailand for some reason or another which I won't repeat here.

If Facebook withdrew service from Thailand, most of the population will go into shock and depression. Without FB, these people will have nothing else to do on their phones, and will be forced to look up - and everyone will be looking at one another blankly - across dining tables, in restaurants, in social gatherings etc. not knowing what to do. For these have lost the ability to communicate and interact with another human being. The country will grind to a halt. Literally. No, whatever you do, don't let FB go.
