The real reason for closing a toilet lid, as opposed to the seat, is to prevent the unthinkable being flushed into the air......which it is.....all over your towels and tooth brushes.

What's the problem with it being all over the tooth brushes?

They are fully aware. The point was to blame it on the entertainment industry so it can remain shut.

These big scooters are very practical but so ugly. 

Move to Thailand. Move the money to Thai banks. Several accounts at the biggest banks. Since it's a large amount, it will yield a handsome interest. If you're smart you won't get married. Keep your financies intact. Don't buy real estate. Rent or lease. If you must you can invest, the top choices would be land or real estate but the laws are dubious, they always side with locals, so it's not in your favor.

Ever looked at the floor around urinals in public toilets? There you see what I mean when I say that peeing while standing is making a mess of the floor around it, whether urinal or "normal" toilet. 

Peeing in a toilet at home while standing is disrespecting your wife, because she will have to clean up the mess that you caused. 

I don't think it's disrespectful because as long as she's busy cleaning, she's not swiping my credit cards all day.
