  1. I currently have an open floor plan office and am considering adding central AC, as opposed to the current multi aircon units throughout. Currently, we have several aircons throughout the space all on located on outside walls, so our thought was to see if there is a way to convert the units to central AC since they are already present, essentially running AC ducting through the office. Has anyone done this before here in Asia? Are there conversion kits I can use? I have googled this quite a bit and am coming up empty handed.

    Thanks for the help!

  2. If anyone that has helped to obtain a visa for a Thai national, or has some information that can help with this, I would appreciate it greatly! My girlfriend, who is also a shareholder in my company and business partner, was denied a visa to the US(my home country) for her 2nd time in the last month.

Here are her documents she brought to the embassy when she was interviewed.

    - Since my GF is a shareholder in our company, 51%, she took with her the company registration and company shares document.

    - She brought the company employment status letter, 3 months payment slips and PNDs to show the company has paid tax for her every month

    - She owns a home, she brought the blue house owner book with her to the appointment

    - She is financing a car and brought the monthly statements to the appointment

    - She has many monthly bills, such as mobile, insurance, etc and she also brought the statements for all of these to appointment

    - She brought a prepurchased round trip air ticket to US and back.

    - Company registration documents

    - Company bank account statements

    - Personal bank statements and bank book showing 120k balance currently

    - Invitation letter from my parents

    - Letter to the embassy from my family stating they will take care of all financials and transportation as well as any emergencies and guarantee her a safe return back to Thailand

When she was initially interviewed the first time, the officer asked where she worked and she stated the company name, the officer then typed for a while on the computer and came back with the same questions 2-3 times of "Does your company have an office in the US?", and she replied that we did not each time. Along with this the officer also asked about specifics employees and what they did in the company, these name were accessible on our website, along with a US phone number we have as about half of our clients are American.

Also when she was at the appointment she had with her my documents and details.

    - Copy of US passport

    - Copy of extension of stay

    - Copy of all pages in my work permit

    - Copies of my bank books at 3 different banks

    - Copies of my debit cards

    - Copy of my Thai issued(Krungsri) credit card

    - My return flight ticket

My only thought is that when they initially asked her if we had an office in the US, and she had said no, maybe it looked like she was actually going to he US for work? As I believe the google searched for our company online and found the employee names and US number this way.

We then took off the US phone number and anything referencing US from the website. Then at the 2nd appointment, they never asked about US office, but did ask about only her salary and she answered 30k monthly, plus an annual bonus at end of year, even though she is an owner and does work Monday to Friday, maybe this appears as a low amount since she is a company owner? Had they check the bank records they would see we don't do a lot of volume but it is a fair amount. The officer then denied her the visa again. But at each of the appointments, they NEVER looked at any of the documents.

It would be great to get some genuine input on thoughts as to where we messed up, or did we just choose not the best way to do this?

    - Should we have not mentioned her owning the company at all and only just showed proof of employment and invitation letters along with her bank statements saying she is going for a holiday herself?

    - Should we not have mentioned myself-even though I work in Thailand and have MANY ties to Thailand and have proven I am coming back also.

Thanks for any honest help with this, a bit frustrating after having bought round trip flights for us both and also doing this 2 times now.

  3. One of my fellow mods just went through the process of hiring a Cambodian. They decided to use an agent since doing it without one was very difficult.

The non-la visa has to be issued at the embassy in PP after the required paperwork is obtained.

A snag they had was that the embassy requires a passport validity of at least 2 years to issue the visa.

This is what I have just heard, but it does seem to be a lot more difficult than it used to. I suppose the companies wanting migrant workers will be willing to pay for agencies to do this if they want the labor enough, but it seems to me that it's going to make it increasingly difficult compared to how it used to be. From my understanding before a migrant worker could enter Thailand with legal working status without having an employer and then find work with the work card, and now they will have to find an employer first, right?

  4. My company has received quota for 1 migrant worker. The person that I have in mind hiring is Cambodian and has never had a pink card before. I was told that the laws have now changed and that no more pink cards are being issued unless the work had one prior to this year and that the only option is to prepare paperwork for the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh and for him to obtain a non LA visa there. Is there another or cheaper option than hiring and agency to do this? I've heard he can get a visa at the border also, but I'm not finding any info on this in the forums.

    Thanks for any help!

  5. I have a company limited and would like to hire a specific person under the migrant worker agreement between Thailand and Cambodia. Does anyone know how the migrant worker would apply for the work card at the border? I am not referring to having the migrant worker obtaining a Non L visa at the Thai embassy. I have heard this is a different route and option, and not attached to a specific company.

    Thank you for the help!

  6. I currently have a 1 year non b supported by my company limited. I received it from the consulate in Penang last year. Now I am applying for a new 1 year non b at Chaeng Whattana with my visa person/consultant etc. She just told me I will receive a 1 month visa today and then we will bring my passport back in a month to receive a stamp that transforms it into a 1 year. Is this correct? Or did she mess up? I plan on leaving for work out of country and am not sure if I will be back in time to get the stamp. Do I have no choice but to come back now or I will be denied the visa?

  7. Sorry, but I am terribly confused. You "..currently don't have enough staff to support another foreign work permit...", but you want to hire a foreign worker?

I pray I am missing something here......

    You're Welcome!! smile.png

This is for a migrant worker, based on the agreement that Thailand has between Burma, Laos, and Cambodia, we can hire migrant labor workers from these countries once the company is given a quota of how many. I know it's different than a non b w/ work permit, it should be called a non LA, but I'm not sure of how difficult the process or how to go about it.

  8. I have a Thai Company Limited, we have already received our quota for 1 migrant worker from the department labor, but have done nothing else. I have read multiple of 2 different ways to have a legal Cambodian working for my company.

    1) The worker can apply for a work card of some sort himself at the border when coming into Thailand.

    2) I can have them apply for a proper work LA visa in their home country and then when they get to Thailand we can apply for the work permit for them, somewhat similar to my own Non B visa and work permit.

We have a specific person in mind from Cambodia that we would like to work for us because he has worked for us before in Cambodia on prior jobs, so he does know about our industry and we would like to give him the opportunity to work for us in hopes of him improving his skills and then doing some specific skilled work for us later in the a year or 2.

My question is which one of these should my company do and are these the correct ways? If these are proper what are the steps to do this?

We currently don't have enough staff to support another foreign work permit, so we can not go that route.

  10. Ok thanks guys! So if this was a single entry it would be an issue?

This current visa was acquired outside of Thailand at another embassy and does require me to exit the country every 3 months, the attorney is setting me up with the one inside Thailand this time that will let me stay as long as I would like within the year and will be multi entry. Still no problem with this then right?

    Thanks for the help!

  11. I have now a multi entry non b with my company limited. I am using a new attorney to do my new non b. My current non b expires this February 16 and the stamp from entering in December says I have until March 17(3 months of stay). The new attorney says I will be ok not processing the paperwork and applying at immigration before February 16 and that we have until March 17(the stamp). I am concerned that immigration will see the visa is expired and not take notice to the stamp. Will I be fine or am

    I legitimately concerned?

  12. I wanted to share my experience in getting my Non B and WP in the last 4 months. I originally had set out to hire 4 employees and do everything by the books. I hired a well known law firm here in Thailand and they were excellent every step of the way. PM if you would like the information of the actual attorney and I will connect you to them.

Skipping to the step of registering 4 Thai Employees to obtain the work permit: I had all the future employees fill out all the regular documents, information, etc... We then took pictures of them working just like you have always had to. We took all this back to the law firm and they went to apply for the work permit. They were denied and told that the steps and the law had changed. I was now required to obtain my Non B Visa first. The law firm suggested I visit the Thai Consulate in Penang for this. They prepared all of the papers for the Consulate, INCLUDING the papers and anything to do with the 4 future employees that were in the plans of being hired. I got the Non B easily in Penang, the Thai Consulate office was very relaxed and easy to work with. Once I was back in BKK, myself and a one of the (law staff?) went to the place for the work ministry(not sure exactly where) to apply for the work permit. It took about 15 minutes and I had the work permit.

I was told by the law firm that next year when I go to renew the work permit that I will THEN have to show proof of the Thai Employees and paying their social funds from that point forward. So as of now I have 1 YEAR to ramp up business BEFORE having to hire the 4 employees.

And for fun, here is my Company, <commercial link removed by Maestro>

  13. I'm not sure if this helps, but I hope so. I just acquired my first permit and first 1 year Non B. I went to do the work visa first and then the work permit, however the process had reversed just recently. I was required to obtain my work permit first and take that with me to the embassy in Penang where they issued me the one year non b. It was very easy to obtain the work permit beforehand. I know next year the company will be required to show our registered staff.

  14. I am producing a music video in Pattaya this month.

We are looking for a more secluded and pretty/tropical looking area of beach with road running along it, not in the south.

Pattaya comes to mind as it could have this and also a couple of luxury cars we are hoping to rent from individuals(black Audi, Mercedes of any color).

I'm open to Pattaya and other options if anyone has ideas. Thanks for any suggestions!

  15. I am looking to rent a Black Audi and a Mercedes of any color for one day for a music video shoot this month in Pattaya.

All models of the car makes are fine.

Please email or call to discuss cost/rental fees and details.

    Thanks

  16. I have a brand new Company Limited registered and a brand new K Bank Biznet account. I just found out that there is no business debit cards and in order to obtain a credit card your business has to have been operating for 2 years already. I will be taking a trip through a few countries for some work and will be needing to pay for hotels, meals etc, and for other things for clients etc. Not extremely large amounts of money, but not small either. Probably around 500k baht max at a time.

I can't believe that I would absolutely have to use my personal account debit card. But that is what K Bank is telling me. So I have spoke with K Bank Personal and they said to do this with a personal card I would have to have my work permit for 6 months already, in order to spend over 200k baht per day. I explained to them that the business is brand new so I have not had it that long yet. But I will be buying and spending more than the 200k in one day.

So basically I have no options other than to wire all the cash I need to spend to my US account and use the debit card from my US business account i my thinking.

Is there another way that I K Bank has not told me about? I really can't believe that it is this hard to spend money the business already has. I'm not trying to get credit, but spend money the business has already. I would think there would be a secured credit card option...

Thank you for all the help!
