Obviously the standards will vary from hospital to hospital and depend on the quality and training of the doctors working there. My experience of Government hospitals is that they were excellent at all the ones I have visited, though unsophisticated in their approach ! Bumungrad is excellent but more expensive than private hospitals in the U.K. ! I cannot see them ever agreeing in a million years to the suggestion that accident emergencies should be treated free of charge for the first 72 hours ! Forget it !! They have pay desks on every floor to make sure you don't disappear without paying !!

What about people who have made their plans for up to a year beforehand, particularly in their gap year?
Coach companies who have to plan months beforehand in order to bring in participants?

Yes, Immigration is now questioning people with 6 or more Visa Exempt entries, even by air. The problem is that one might need to go out for a meeting for 1-2 days during the original 30 day period, then one has accumulated 2 entries within 30 days, and that can suddenly start to add up very quickly.

This is the second time this has happened on a Rayong beach within a year. The last time the Thai woman involved died within minutes. When will anybody learn or even care?
