    That doesn't answer the question.

"Not sure why but I searched that company name recently"

This sounds you are forgetting a bit of information

Accounts closed 2013 trading year and taxes paid. I believed at that point I had also had myself removed from the company. My ex wife had nothing to do with it either so unless the solicitor did something with it (doubtful) the very most would be a few years of non submittal of monthly accounts fines which from memory is a hundred baht or something? As to why I searched it. I often go on memory hunts, and was on google maps seeing how Bangkok had changed and saw the building where that company had been registered which then prompted me to have a look.

Do not take this as solid legal advice, because it is not. It is just my experience having had something similar.

Once a company has filed no returns of any kind for a certain period, (was 3 years, might have changed), the company is generally considered dead for all intents and purposes, unless financial transactions have been happening on the company bank accounts.

If nothing like that has happened, you should be able to just turn a blind eye to it and the authorities generally will too.

This is Thailand though, where unusual stuff can come at you out of thin air.

I would advise getting an accountant or lawyer to make discrete inquiries to ensure it is indeed dead.

I will probably apply for a married visa and see what happens

  3. Heh folks.

When I left Thailand in 2015 I shut down my company that I owned and worked through, but completely forgot about the one I was named on with my ex wife. Not sure why but I searched that company name recently and read that it was listed as "Abandoned" in 2019 which was a good 6 years after the last time I was aware of signing off what I believe were the last accounts and daftly thought were the docs that got my name off of the business. Weirdly I am now listed as 100% shareholder (I am not Thai and it was only a small company so I can't see how I am the only share holder).  I've not been back to Thailand since however the current Mrs Boldface and I are thinking that in a few years we might move back but I am a little concerned about this as I have no idea what went on between 2013 and 2019 with that company. I would assume nothing and having read the translated info on DBD and other websites, it seems that having had no accounts in 2014, 2015 and 2016, they then shut it down which took 3 years as abandoned. I'm not overly willing to reach out to DBD or another Thai official channel incase it stirs a nest that is all but dead. However I also would not like to turn up at Swampy ready for holiday house hunting to be ushered into a back room to be shaken down for unpaid fines / fees for 6 years of not reporting.

If I need to I probably have 3-4 years before I plan to return to fix this if I had to, but I don't really want to engage a Thai lawyer to go to court, get the company established again, to then submit years and years of accounts and pay the late fines then close it down officially, especially if it means hunting down my ex wife and convincing her to assist, which she wouldn't,  for something that has nothing to do with me aside from my stupidity of not triple checking somethign I was signing. .

So anyone had any experience or knowledge of this?

  4. A selected PM is no more than lipstick on a pig. They make no difference at all and the agenda's will move forward unabated. Al Johnson was just a distraction to keep the plebs guffawing and cheering whilst they forgot that after 12 years of tory mishandling, and the blair years before that, the UK is basically a gutted shell on the verge of mass starvation, followed by civil unrest.

Anyway, just so you know, Army boy Tugenhat will win. The only one of that sorry lot to go to bildeberg 2022 so clearly he has already been selected.

  5. Random Restaurant Ramblings by JayTee ermm.gif

    CHOW BOX Reincarnated. (Spooky?)

Chow Box, the western style "Chinese" restaurant that was previously in the fancy garish digs on Tappraya road between South Pattaya and Jomtien has now opened at front of Pattaya New Plaza, 2nd road, south of Pattaya Klang.

No further info. I have never sampled any Chow Box.

    http://www.soidb.com/pattaya/bar-complex/pattaya-new-plaza.html

    ...

I stopped by tonight to look at the menu.

I am pretty sure it's the same menu and prices as the original location.

    Some sample dishes:

    Hot and sour soup 120

Beef with black bean sauce 190

Some kind of crispy duck dish, 300 I think.

The current presentation of the place is kind of odd.

The main sign now is for the CHOW BOX place but the menu in front was for the old restaurant, some kind of "Bistro" serving European and Thai food.

A staff person told me they have all three menus now, Euro/Thai/Chinese and also that the CHEF is the same as from the last location.

I still haven't tried it and may never. When I feel like Western Chinese food (rarely) I go to WOK N ROK on Soi Buakhow.

I went to Chow Box when is was on Theppraya Rd a couple of years back. I didn't ever return as the food was bland and boring with an over reliance on corn starch as a flavouring which was compounded by the over zealous use of MSG. It was a weird experience eating it which I did not enjoy.

  6. Mentioned before, but well worth a mention again. Wifes birthday, so we went to Suggestions on the Dark Side on Thursday night. After a lot of thought, and considering that we eat out 5+ times evenings a week, I can honestly say that this is the only restaurant that I have never had a disappointing meal, and never had any problems with tummy rumblings from. My only small gripe is the stupid size of the plates (massive, and needlessly so). But that is it.

So we started, after the complimentary bread and home made pate, with bruschetta to share.

The wife had the salmon steak whcih was cooked to perfection. He always serves the sauce on the side which I prefer.

    12241586_1282727545074468_35637360723099

I had the mixed grill which features a very generous serving of 2 lamb chops, a beautifully cooked piece of steak, some chick, and some pork as well. Melt in the mouth time, Severed with Pepper sauce (so good), and Dauphinoise potatoes (sublime...by the way) and a few croquettes.

Excuse the bad photo - it was a quick one prior to getting stuck in.

Then just as we were finishing, the owner brought us a free pudding, Ice cream he had made a couple of hours earlier (prauline - you got to try this if you are an ice cream devotee) and a raspberry bavarois. The icecream melted a bit before I remembered to take a photo - but it was dreamy.

    12273711_1282728171741072_64713687093696

We had a bottle of Pinot grigio which was very good (1200 baht) and the total bill came in at about 2200 baht.

If I lived in pattaya I would make the trip to this place - it is that good, and the environment is very relaxing. As it's just down the road we tend to go once a week.

May I suggest you provide a more pricise location for Suggestions other than it's somewhere on the Darkside. Any that like you provided is incorrect or broken...maybe you forgot the "a" on the end.

PS: Never mind, I've found it. For others, it's on map lai lia 28 off NPW. I thought that place closed as I never see any cars there...it's still open huh...will have to give it a try sometime.

  7. Boldface the replies you have received from the various embassies are of interest; but I'm more interested in Sovit's response.

Can you post it when received please?.

Absolutely ZERO response so far. Not even an acknowledgment yet. These responses should be pasted up on a sticky thread. There is no resource anywhere that lists this all out for Thailand, so no point people repeating this.

Anyway - here is the brilliant DENMARK, another one playing by the rules.

    Thank you for your e-mail.

I am pleased to forward the link from our web-side with information concerning visas to family members of EU citizens. See below:

    http://thailand.um.dk/en/~/media/Thailand/Documents/Visum/Checklist%20TH%20EU%20family%20members.pdf

You can apply at VFS: http://thailand.um.dk/en/travel-and-residence/going-to-denmark/where-to-apply/

With all needed documentation at hand and no problems, we can make a visit visa for your wife quite swiftly.

The embassy does not charge a fee for our work, but VFS charges a small fee for obtaining biometry.

When in Denmark you will have to contact Statsforvaltningen for a stay permit. Read more about it here: http://www.statsforvaltningen.dk/site.aspx?p=6394

  8. Czech Republic

    Dear Sir,
regarding the Shengen visa (visa for staying up to 90 days) you are definitely right. Your wife will submit duly filled Application form together with legalized Thai Marriage certificate and copies of yours both passports (just data page) and passport size photo. We suggest to arrange a booking of flight ticket and booking of accomodation (to help us specify terms of travel in a visa sticker).

The situation regarding residency in Czech Republic for you and your wife is also simple.
You are obliged up to 3 months after arrival to inform the local Immigration office (according your place of stay) about your staying and ask for temporary residency.
You personally should show copy of your passport, proof of accomodation (rental agrreement, contract for buing real estate, confirmation from somebody that you are allowed to stay in his/her place etc.) and reason of staying (trade licence, extract from bussines register that you are an owner of the company etc).
Your wife has the same obligation -to inform the local Immigration Authority and ask for temporary residency. For that she should present passport, accomodation and proof of relationship with you (Marriage Certificate - in your case probably Thai original and English translation should be enough with legalization from THAI MFA and superlegalization from our Embassy). Maybe the Immigration officers will ask for the official translation into Czech language of the English translation, but it will depend on the Immmigration officials because according the law all submitted foreign documents must be translated into Czech language by verified (in Czech republic) translater.

Hope above mention information satisfy you.

    Have a nice day

I had read somewhere that CZ were rather unhelpful, but this seems very straight forward as well.

  9. Nachzug means she travels to join you, you should already be there!!! and this bit says she must have a copy of your registration in Germany, meaning that you must be there

Ohhh FGS - EVERY one of these I am posting has received a phone call and an email stating that we are in Thailand together, and travelling together.

Why not simple bugger off? You have added precisely NOTHING to this thread other than distraction and distortions.

  10. Ireland

Thank you for your email. In regarding to your enquiries below, your wife can apply for ‘Family member of EU/EEA/Swiss cit. (Long Stay) (Single Journey)visa’. Please kindly follow the instruction and find this link : http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Family%20Members%20of%20EU_EEA%20_Swiss%20citizens

Should you have further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Very straight forward.

  11. Germany

    thank you for your E-Mail.

Thai citizens require a national visa (Aufenthaltstitel) to permanently live in Germany. In your case your wife will have to apply for a “visa for married couples”. Due to the fact that you are an EU-citizen the so called “Freizügigkeitsgesetz”, which is the german national law codifying the Freedom of Movement, will apply. Pursuant to this law, the wife of an EU-citizen has the right to permanently live in Germany. Attached you`ll find information in German and Thai regarding said Visa.

Please take special consideration of the last paragraph of the informational sheet that states that your wife, as the wife of a citizen of the European Union, is exempt from the requirement to prove basic skills in German.

I hope that this information is of help to you,

As far as my bad German tells me,,, all straight forward.

  12. Finland

Thank you for your email. Your Thai wife can either apply for a residence permit in advance (for more information please visit at the Finnish Immigration Service www.migri.fi and our embassy’s website http://www.finland.or.th/public/default.aspx?contentid=108273&nodeid=39169&contentlan=2&culture=en-US) before traveling to Finland, or she can apply for a visa to travel to Finland and then apply for a residence permit at the local police in Finland (https://www.poliisi.fi/licences/licences_and_permits_for_foreigners ).

For more information about the visa application process and required documents can be found at our embassy’s website www.finland.or.th and VFS Visa Centre’s website www.vfsglobal.com/finland/thailand .

  13. Holland

    Good morning,

    Thank you for your email.

You wife can make an appointment with VFS to make an appointment and to submit her application, see http://www.vfsglobal.com/netherlands/thailand/

The documents that at its minimum should be submitted are the Schengen application form, passport-size picture of your wife, your passport and the letter from the British consulate and proof that you are travelling to the Netherlands (together).

The Thai marriage certificate may be translated into English and then legalized first by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then the Netherlands embassy in Bangkok.

If during assessment of the application additional documents would be required, your wife will be informed.

The official processing time of the application would be 15 days, however as you state applications under the EU/Directive will be processed with as soon as possible. Mostly within 5 working days the application might be finalized.

Hope to have informed you sufficiently.

  14. Switzerland (who has bought into the Free Movement, but a referendum in 2014 might change it)

Thanks for your message. Your spouse needs to submit a legalized extract from the marriage register (Khor ror2). The applicant’s appearance in person is mandatory. An appointment is not required for spouses of Swiss and EU citizens.

Visa for family reunion (after marriage in Thailand)

    Documentary requirements

Three visa application forms (“Application for a long stay visa D”) duly filled out, dated and signed by the applicant

Four passport-sized pictures recently made color pictures, 3.5 - 4 cm in width, neutral light background, head takes up 70-80% of the surface

Passport issued with the family name after marriage, valid at least three months after the planned entry date in the Schengen territory, at least two blank pages

Three photocopies of the passport personal data page

Police record in English, original with three photocopies

    Police record

The Thai police record can be ordered at the following address: Police Clearance Service Center, Special Branch Bureau, Section 3, Royal Thai Police, Rama I Rd. Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330, Tel. 02 205 21 68-9.

    Further documents

If the marriage has been concluded with a citizen of a third country, the Regional Consular Center in Bangkok can require further documents related to the marriage (extract from marriage register, birth certificate etc.). We are pleased to advise you at our counters.

    Fees

The visa application is free of charge for spouses of Swiss and EU citizens. Here you can find the postal fee levied by the Regional Consular Center for the submission of the visa application to the cantonal migration office.

    Procedure

The procedure for family reunion may take several weeks. The visa application will be submitted to the cantonal migration office competent for the Swiss spouse’s place of residence. Information regarding the processing time can be given by the authorities in Switzerland only. In general, the applicant is informed by the cantonal migration office once the authorization to enter Switzerland has been granted (form „Ermächtigung zur Visumerteilung“ or “Autorisation habilitant les représentations Suisses à délivrer un visa”). The passport and the authorization can be submitted directly to the Regional Consular Center in Bangkok by the applicant or by an authorized third person during the opening hours without prior appointment. The visa can be picked-up after three working days.

Trusting that this information is useful, I remain,

    Yours sincerely,

    All seems fair enough.

  15. Dear MOD - I will keep updating this with every response I get as this will doubtless be useful to other people looking to move to Europe, or to try they Surinder Singh route to the UK. However, it might also be a good idea to remove a lot of the nonsense posts in here not at all related to the thread or other posts which are sidetracking / not related / nonsense.

    Posts such as this

you must be proving using your Freedom of Movement so I believe, you will find that you need to be in the country where you wish to bring your wife, and be registered before she can move to join you, this is the case with what the Austrian Embassy and what I know of the German Embassy are telling you.

Because no! I am completely in my right as a European to move to any EC Free Movement country to look for work, and my wife can go with me. I do not have to be living their already. It has been explained to you about 20 times now!
