Immigration topic - 2 residences
Yes sure, i can do that. BOI moved to One Bangkok. My company use an agent to facilitate the expats for all immigration topics. Basically, i am going to the BOI only 1 time per year with the agent for work permit renewal. 1 photo, that’s it. The agent is handling my 90 days. i know the process to get IDP (at least in Phuket DLT). I got many already. My original question (maybe I was not clear) is: if I am going to Phuket DLT next month to get an IDP, and they request a COR, I will go to Phuket immigration which is next door but seing my immigration status in their system, they might tell me “your home address is register in BKK now, you need a COR from Bangkok immigration”. anyway, i will ask the agent if he can handle it for me in Bangkok. thanks anyway for the advises.

Immigration topic - 2 residences
Ok, the TM30 is in Bangkok. I mean, when I moved to a condo last year, I asked the owner to ensure that my address was registered at the immigration. He did and sent me a screenshot. However, I never “de-register” in Phuket. I still have the small piece of paper from immigration with my address in Phuket attached in my passport. I got several IDP done in Phuket. Rules might again depend on each DLT but before as Non O visa (+ extension), they always asked me for residence certificate. Quite easy, done immediately. Residence certificate, few copies, photos, small fees. In Phuket, the IDP is valid for 1 year only.

Immigration topic - 2 residences
I am sure someone here is on the same situation and can advise me: i have been in Thailand for VERY long time and been based in Phuket where I have a house for 20 years already. This is where I have based, recorded to immigration all that long. i own that house (officially on the name of son dual nationalities). I have been on many types of visa during that time, mostly non o based on Thai child then non O based on retirement. I am not married (divorced). Since 2024, I am working in Thailand, based in Bangkok. I am working for a multinational company, have a work permit from BOI. during the process of the work permit application, my address is Bangkok has been recorded for the immigration. i never been to the immigration in Bangkok, and also my work permit was handle at the BOI. Even if I based in Bangkok now for work, I am going back to Phuket very often, weekends, holidays… Now, I need to apply for a Thai IDP next month and as I will be in Phuket for 2 weeks next month, I would like to get it from there. i already had several Thai IDP in the past, always got it in Phuket. Under previous visa (Non O) they required 5 years Thai DL (which I have) and certificate of residence from the immigration. As I am now under work permit, i am not sure if they request a certificate of residence. But if they do, can I get from the Phuket immigration or will the immigration redirect me to Bangkok. I have no clue where to get certificate of residence in Bangkok. Thanks

I guess you are talking about Don Muang, right?

Parking at Suvarnabhumi
Coming back late on your feedback. I missed it. Thanks anyway. So, since my initial post, I have a used a lot the carpark at Suvanarbhuni. I always enter from the 5th floor. I used to go only directly to the 6th floor where there was always a lot of availabilities. since the last 2 months, the 6th floor is closed as they are doing some renovations. So, I am going down to the 4th or the 3rd. So far, never had big issues to find available spaces. Now, I need to use Don Muang airport. How difficult it is?

Krungsri facial recognition
Yes, when they announced the cancellation of the exemption (it was end of June), I went to SCB branch and explained that it would be complicate for me to come to the bank every time I need to transfer more than 50K as I am also traveling a lot. Then, they extend my exemption until September, saying that there are excepting to be ready at that time to register facial recognition for foreigner and if not, they will extend again. As September is next week, let's see. Apart from unexpected payment, I have 2 monthly payments above 50k and both of them were proceeded without any issues the last few months

Krungsri facial recognition
You are right. SCB does not have facial recognition for foreigners. I have signed the exemption of facial recognition. I am confused with the biometrics from my iPhone. Any transaction (open app, QR payment...) are using my face recognition instead password. Good to hear about the glasses. I will try next time I am transferring above 50k

Krungsri facial recognition
Well, I have the same problem. I have done the facial registration long time ago (I think right in the beginning when it was required). It has been working smoothly for long time but since few month, I am facing this problems. Around 3 months ago, as I needed to proceed a big transfer (500k) and I was not sure I could proceed such transfer amount from the app, I went to a Krungsri branch and told them that I need to do that transfer. it was a Saturday and they told as the transfer for another bank (Kasikorn), it will be proceed on the Monday only. But they asked "why don't you do it from the app". Then I explained the difficulties I have with the facial recognition. They could see by themselves and tried to help me. Finally, after several attempts, it works. They also told me that since the first registration, maybe my face changed and they did the registration again. But the problem remains. Krungsri is not my daily banking. I using SCB for day to day transactions and works good. One problem for me with Krungsri face recognization is that you can't wear glasses. During the process of payment, as mentioned, it ask you "turn your face left, right, open your mouth..." but I can't just read this instructions without my glasses....

Buying property in 7 year old sons name
Well, I have done that long time ago. My son was around 7-10 years old. I was divorced from his mum. My son has dual citizenship. He is now 26 years old. i bought a house using company that time (my son was not listed as share holder). Few years later, I transferred the ownership of the land (chanote) to my son and had my son registered as master in the tabien baan. Then, I closed the company. I used a lawyer to do this process and it was smooth. since, my son is “the owner of the land and the house”. when I registered to the immigration my address in Thailand (can’t remember the name of this), I went to the immigration with my son as the owner of the property. Everything went smooth.

SCB, no more exemption from facial recognition in app
Well, i got this notification from SCB of the cancellation of the exemption last week. today, i passed by a SCB branch and explained nicely how inconvenient it was for me. they called the call center, give me the phone and told me they will give an exemption until September. I asked them, ok but September what will happen after? She said because it has been scheduled by SCB to implement the face recognition for foreigner with passport in September. If it not happening in September, we will contact and extend again the exemption. few minutes later, i got a notification for the renewal of the exemption.

Parking at Suvarnabhumi
I tried anyway last night. It was ok but bit stressful indeed. I tried the parking zone 4 and it was very pack. Turn around 20 minutes but luckily found someone who was leaving. I was already considering what would happen if i missed my flight… so i think, i will keep using the taxi as my schedule is always very tight.

Parking at Suvarnabhumi
How is it easy to find place available in the short term parking? I am traveling a lot for short trip domestically and international. My main concern is about the time to find a place to park. for example, i am going to Phuket tomorrow evening, come back to bkk Sunday evening, then going to Philippines Monday afternoon and coming back to bkk Tuesday night. i am doing such trip very often and bored using taxi.

Krungsri Interest Rates
I have one of this Mee Tai Dai account since few years. Open in the branch, not online. I am not to remember but I think when I open it that time, the interest were up to 1.5% for max 1 million, then drop to 0.9% above 1 million. I went to the branch recently and they me that now, for this account (not online), the 1.5% interest is for max 100k balance. The online one is restricted to Thai only. At the meantime, i have the similar online account with SCB (I think it's easy something) when you get 1.5% up to 2M. No bank book. The interest are paid monthly. Better than nothing...

Carpark at airport (DMK and BKK)
Thanks. Actually, it seems standard same price from Thai airports. I am paying 250b in Phuket international Airport too. They increased earlier this year from 200 to 250. In Phuket, taxis are expensive (for 700b from home to airport one way) so for only few days trip, it worth paying the parking.

Carpark at airport (DMK and BKK)
Hello, I am wondering if someone knows the price / day to park a car at either DMK and BKK. I am travelling a lot for short trips (few days / a week) and considering using my own car to go to airports and leaving it there.

Advise required for application Non-Immigrant (B) visa for employment.
Well, i just applied and obtained a Non B 90 days visa with documents provided by the BOI in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam few weeks ago. My choice for the consulate of HCMC was because I also working in Vietnam, based in HCMC, so convenient for me. There was no much waiting list for the appointment. I choose a date 2 weeks later when I made the appointment on their website at it convenient for me but i had the possibilities to get it earlier. On the of the visa application, all went smooth. There was only 1 document regarding the company taxes missing. They allowed to ask my company in Thailand to send me this document by email and get it print in the shop nearby and come back to the consulate. Then all done in 45 minutes. The payment (80 USD) must be done in USD only. Be careful as they are strict on the quality of the USD notes. If you don't have USD, they indicate you a place nearby to exchange. For me, I had USD already with me. I applied and the Friday morning and collected my passport back on the Tuesday afternoon. FYI, in my case, my company is relocating me from Vietnam to Thailand.

Transferring stamps into new passport
I did that 2 months ago. Got a new passport in my Embassy in Bangkok. They cut the corners and stamped cancelled on the old one. Left the country few days later. At aiport, the immigration stamped a new entry on the new passport (even I entered in bkk and exit in Phuket) and wrote the non O and extension was on the old passport. They reminded me to make sure to carry my old passport when I come back. I was on Non O with 1 year extension retirement

Apple TV or Netflix
Well, the good thing is you can stop the subscription anytime. I have been subscriber of Netflix for very long time and use it a lot. 2 years ago, I also purchased an Ipad and enrolled for the 3 months free with Apple +. I ended the subscription at the end of the 3 months as I was not convinced. I prefer the interface of Netflix and I found that Netflix has more selection on movies and series. Last week, as I couldn't really find what to watch next on Netflix, and saw some interesting trailers on Apple + (some apple production), I signed up again on Apple+ (basically as they have already your apple ID, they only charge your credit card). I give it a try again and watch what I am interested but my stop the subscription after 1 month or 2. At the same time, I keep my Netflix subscription running as my wife use it too
