I remember the good old days when travelling was expensive, and governments didn't yet steal enough of the taxpayers money to redistribute to the CHAV's, Bogans, or Rednecks (pick your vernacular) to allow them to afford to be a tourist. The death of God and the rise of post-modernist cultural Marxism hasn't done the world many favors.
God as such didn't die, 'he' is just viewed more realistically as a field of consciousness which doesn't care about your beliefs while Marxism was just a reaction to the cruelty of rampant unrestricted capitalism supported by the church, even the ancient Sumerien civilization was more benevolent to its people than the West during the Victorian era. Even today 20% of the population in the UK is on or below the poverty level, chavs are made not born.

Considering the millions of tourists who come to Thailand each year the number of reports in the media about misbehaving idiots is percentage wise extremely small.

Well the idiot has himself assured that his arrest will be imminent.

5 women! I think his wife did him a favour, the randy old sod was probably glad of some peace and quiet.

Not a comforting thought for tourists.

He was a retiree. The arguing story is completely fictitious. How could they be arguing with each other when they were approaching from opposite directions. And an eyewitness statement from a person that didn't look up until he saw the motorbike sliding down the road.
In that case they probably gave each other nasty looks

To be fair there are many more bikes in Thailand driven many more miles and days during the year.
And due to the weather in Sweden you would only drive in summer.

It´s amazing that people can´t just stop and have an argument. They need to drive at the same time.
It's also amazing that people on holiday (I assume) should bother arguing at all, this could be a case of road rage manslaughter.

Thailand (as with everyone else) should be cheering his death
Thailand, pragmatic as always, would probably order mourning for Hitler if it brought in a few more tourists.

The manors and the class was about the shirt, The no brain was about the anger and shouting. So, now you can understand too. 🙂
Manners.......you don't have to live in a manor to be here

And perhaps not? Perhaps just a sober farang on his own seen as a fair target for these alcoholic animals?
Yeah and he was walking with the sugar plum fairy.

Yep, now we are down to the regular price for a stabbing in Thailand.
It wouldn't have happened if he was sitting in a BMW.

The potential for an enormous hail Mary punch up just rose considerably by the look of what's on offer, Jesus, most of them would look ugly as men let alone as women.

Every nationality has drunks and I doubt a 30 day visa would have made any difference, probably many late night drivers in Pattaya are over the limit.

I agree, a very emotional folk, easy to offend. The Thai Buddhism is overlaid with animism, myth and ceremony.

Short term satisfaction followed by long term damage. As an adult one should be able to practice detachment which is also a Buddhist doctrine to remove all attachments and desires, without desires there is no sorrow just the acceptance of what is.
