  1. The Amari, though old is unbeatable for convenience. They have a covered pedestrian overpass from the airport direct into the hotel. No need for a taxi if you can manage the 400m or so walk.

To minimise stress at check in, I would recommend checking in online if you can and then getting to the airport at least 1.5 hours before your flight. After checkin you could always go back to the hotel until 45 mins or so before flight time.

No airlines worldwide are flying the 737-Max at the moment. It will probably be an Airbus A320.

  2. Our daughter went to CMU about 7-8 years ago and lived on campus for the first semester only of her first year. She came home on most weekends. Overall, the experience seemed to benefit her and probably cost us less than if she had been living at home.

I think one semester was all that was expected, though the Uni didn't seem too strict on it. Some stayed on there for multi years and I'm pretty sure that some of her friends did not live in the Student Halls at all.

Our son followed about 4 years ago and never lived on campus. I was told that he did not have to as some of the halls were closed for renovations that year.

  3. Yes. Go to one of the computer plazas. Find a shop that stocks plugs, screws and other small computer bits. They will make you cables up from the bulk cable roll. On the other hand, the length that you want are commonly used in enterprise as 'patch cables'. Pre-made patch cables of the right length may be cheaper than getting them custom made.  Ask in the same shop.

  4. The obvious solution never seems to be mentioned. Make taxis use their meters, instead of sitting all day at the airport refusing to use them. Bangkok and a number of provinces manage to do this. Enforce it nation wide. Uber will then be competing at a similar price, right now Uber are not only better, but less than half the price.

I agree.  The craft beers in the states are some of the best beers I've had.  The west coast is full a fine brew pubs.

It truly is a shame that thais can't make a living from being craft brewers and selling their products.  It's a shame the 2 major breweries here have that protection.

Give Namton's House Bar a try for imported and Thai craft beers. On the CM - Lamphun Rd near Gymkhana. Check reviews on Facebook, Trip Advisor and here https://www.ratebeer.com/p/namtons-house-bar-chiang-mai/51514/143150/
