Please report back. Genuinely interested.

If this is one of the piers for the service, then that may be a common problem. Even tied up, the boat is still rolling quite a bit at the end of this video.

Try in the Computer Plaza on the North moat and the upper floors of Panthip Plaza in the Night Bazaar. Several shops dealing in second hand notebooks in both. Also repair shops.

alternately the sim card based gate trancievers are pretty cool to for about same money as rf transmitter and remotes. but dont even need remotes anymore just your mobile phone and call the phone number of sim in gate unit to open /close .
Keep in mind that the sim card ones are probably 2G phone system only which is being phased out soon. If it says its 3G, then should work for quite a few years yet.

The new trains are only for the night services for now.

You are right. I believe that it is the entire tree covered block here. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Chiang+Ma
The forestry Provincial Office currently is on part of it.

The bus chassis is imported or recycled from crashed bus. The body and interior is generally locally built in factories like the one in this link. The body under construction in the pics looks pretty flimsy to me.

Book a taxi from Phitsanulok? Alternatively many of the car hire places can provide a car with driver. Here is one http://www.rubycarrental.com/ruby-services

The reason this is being considered is to reduce the road death toll. While better licence training may make a few % difference, its a side issue. Primary direct safety measures should be taken too. Enforcement of helmet use, banning passengers in the back of pickups, seat belts in strengthened buses with better brakes and crash protection, driver motorcycle awareness campaigns, no mobile phone use while driving or riding etc. These measures implemented and enforced together could reduce deaths by 30 % or more in one year.

Pattaya is a vacation destination. Chiang Mai is still a place to call home if you want it to be. I agree its the people, the local people with deep roots here that make the difference.

Pretty sure that I remember reading a few years ago that the Thai navy already has several submarine crews that have been training for years waiting for submarines to sail in.

Shop rents in the city have gone up a lot in the last few years.

I agree that Smith Residence is a solid option. However there are many smaller hotels and guest-houses that will do a monthly rate for a steep discount on the daily rate that will fall within your budget or less.
Once you've done your own research, along with more options from this thread, you should be set. I then suggest emailing or calling a few to get it set up, at which point you may bargain some more.
It might be best to stay in a hotel or guest house a few nights first and then check out your short list in person after you get here.

Nothing on the scale of the big Bangkok places, but every shopping mall has a sizeable collection of phone and accessories shops. The biggest collections are probably in Kad Suan Kaew and Airport Plaza Malls. There is also Panthip Plaza Chiang Mai in the Night Bazaar area, but I think the above general malls have more phone shops in total.

The image ( photo) is just a small craft a Master Five vessel 24 meters .
The one proposed raises many bigger questions .
It would be a Master three vessel and have a significant draft unfit for Pattaya without a large dredging programme .
It's also unlike a docking wharf without again lots of work can be achieved for such a craft.
Then there are serious safety concerns involved with this time table or are they talking about several craft?
This catamaran averaged over 40 knots trans atlantic and cruises at over 50 knots. It holds 150 cars and 1000 passengers.

In 1990, a devastating accident involving a gas transport truck devastated 21 city blocks along the New Petchaburi Road in Bangkok, killing 59 civilians and injuring many more

Full size buses go the southern route via Mae Sariang. For the northern route, mini vans go to Pai and from Pai you can get another one to MHS. Flying is also possible. Both Kan Air and Air Asia fly the Chiang Mai to MHS route.

As the phone is probably out of warranty, you may want to chance taking it to one of the local repairers and get it back same day. No personal experience, but I remember seeing an iphone repair shop in Santitham opposite Lotus Express, I am sure there would be some in Kad Suan Kaew Mall too.

The only problem that they have, and they'll be looking for the same solution as with Thaksin, is how to convict her but keep her out of jail.
In jail she is a martyr.
In exile, she is a political punching bag.
I see a couple of scenarios...
- She is convicted and somehow allowed to escape.
- She is not convicted, but they line up a long series of court cases against her to keep her pinned down.
- She is found innocent and allowed to go free.
Number 3 is just a joke. They'll never do that.
And I don't think that they are creative enough to try number 2.
So it's option 1.
BTW, if Number 3 actually happens, then I'll publicly eat my hat right here.
There is still a way to go. Sometimes things turn out in surprising ways in Thailand. Keep your hat handy.

Here is the Khaosod report (in Thai). I believe that it says she was not wearing a seat belt. http://www.khaosod.co.th/view_newsonline.php?newsid=1456394623

I saw a few Panasonic models in Office Mate next to Baan & Beyond in Central Airport Car park. Might be worth a look. Or mail order from Lazada http://www.lazada.co.th/
