Now that's interesting, seems more likely, good work 👍, plus i was right next to the water at Bang Saray navy base.
I had 3 on me and were very slow to move, i had to poke them to move off. I should add they were small about 6-7mm, looks bigger in the photo

I never really wanted to stay indefinately in Thailand. I put off getting an account because it was not absolutely necessary, still isn't. Same with the driver's license. Call it lack of motivation or hanging onto the prospect of leaving.
My primary reason for being here is financial. I always thought I was just on a long vacation, but the years went buy and that was not the case. I'm looking at Mexico now.
one of the first things to do here, get a bank account, get a thai driving licence

When I rented the house 4 years ago Immigration were not insisting on a TM30, it was only after the TM6 Arrival/Departure Card was scrapped immigration wanted a TM30.
you should have checked prior to renting whether it was required or not, it's always been an issue with landlords not wanting to do it

What should I have checked up on the fella was a total stranger prior to renting the house.
In your rental agreement it should say he will do the TM30. Also you should have asked him the process of getting the deposit bank and how long

I would investigate India as well, quick flight there and a fraction of the cost

In your photos it looks like the thorax/abdomen is facing upwards.
The whole stance is very similar to a resting mosquito stance. Generally male mosquitoes don't bite.
I'll keep trying to ID it....
In the photo i can see they look like mosquitoes but I've never seen mosquitoes like this unless maybe very young ones?

You scan the QR code, show the shop-keeper the name on the screen (check or enter the amount) and ask 'is this you?'
Now explain to me how there can be fraud or theft?
Old folk seem to be worried about anything and everything new, my parents never used an ATM, fearing them

Revolut is great. Multiple accounts in any currency you like. Instant creation of electronic debit cards and link to any currency. Make 'burner' cards for one-time online purchases.
Add a card to Google Wallet.
So to answer the question - tap my phone. 😄😄
minimum 200 baht in 7 Eleven, that's half the shop

For me it's cash or when necessary, credit or debit cards only. I don't use anything else.
One of the things i like is not getting more change and coins

There are some regional agreements now but I don't see the point of supporting this horrible system.
What's wrong with cash? This QR madness will lead to CBDCs which is what the 10000 Baht digital money scam is all about.
Just use cash and credit or debit cards for larger expenses. Isn't that hard. It's all I've ever used and all I will ever use. I'll never use a QR code, ever. Even in China I use cash although 99% of the time on recent trips I've had someone pay for me.

Do you know the area? I don't like the Kasetsin area, one road in and out, a bit excluded. Prices and rent cheaper than a better area.
