  1. Hello

I am an average player and had some lessons over here in the UK, since I am now heading Thailand for a couple of months wanted somewhere to play and get a little coaching while I am here for 2 months. I have done a little and search someone thinks there is some courts at the Le Meridien Phuket.

Last year I saw some really lovely courts in the back streets near Tesco Lotus but the courts were always empty but it was daytime and very hot, I will be located Patong but can travel a little hope someone can help.

    Thanks

  2. Hello I have managed to get myself confused again, I am planning a 3month trip to Thailand and wanted to bring my laptop with me. At the moment I shall be in BKK for a month and then going to Phuket. I already have a happy sim which I use every year and read that I can connect via my mobile but I understand this can be very slow. I read that the Hutch have an usb mobile which faster but looking through this forum it looks like it would not work in Phuket.

I would like if possible one option that would give me fast net access in both areas, at the moment it seems like I buy the Hutch for BKK and something else for Phuket. I do not mind shelling out for something like the Hutch once it can be used on various trips over the years.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks that's a weight off my mind I shall look to do it in Phuket

You can get in Phuket. You should visit immigration office about a week before your 60 day stay ends with copy of passport/departure card, photos and 1,900 baht. It is simple and routine - you fill out a TM.7 form and sign it. You can download form from pinned items at top of forum but they will have available if you don't.
  4. Hi

I am applying for a 60 day visa via the embassy in the UK, I am wondering after reading how I get the 30 day extension and where I get it. I intend to spend the 1st month in BKK before spending a month in Phuket and then roaming, is it best to get the extension while in BKK or can I do it in Phuket too?, not sure whether you wait till ear the end or can get it st8 away.

I read it cost nearly 2000thb just wondered if the process was automatic and simple

    Thanks

  5. Thanks this sounds a good idea, I like being in a little more control and means I can stop off as I choose.

We went december last year, and just drove out of phuket up past krabi. Caught a boat from the port which travelled about 200metres, which brang us to the larger swampy nothingless of the larger lanta island, then another 50m boat trip over to the smaller one. These boats carry cars, so its cool to have you own transport over there.
  6. Hello , every year so far I have arranged to go to the island by just going to a tourist point and buying a ticket which includes a pick up from hotel, I was wondering is there any other options for me, either going directly to Phuket town and booking a more direct boat, travel time is this month and I know at the moment have to change, trip around 4 hours plus been getting much higher prices from last year, suppose have to get user to that here and in the uk.

    Thanks

  7. Hi, every year I go patong and take my life in my own hands by hiring a scooter for a month, this time going in April so may be quieter. Not once have I managed to get any insurance, does anyone know if the situation has changed or is it just not worth getting as yet?

    Thanks

  8. Sorry to hijack this rather than start another, do you know if the Mission is ok for teeth whitening as I am tempted to have something done while in Patong. I shall be there a month so can go multi treatment not sure how its done now.

    Mission root and crown, 14,000.
  9. What beaches should I be looking to go to as I am coming to Patong very soon and don't mind travelling to get somewhere better.

    Thanks

Patong beach is the last place on the island I would go to for a beach experience.. And the thought of the water :o
  10. Thanks, I only thought it was low season as the prices dropped from April 7th, I will make sure I head to the right island :o I was told Tonsai is getting a bit busy and built up now but was told that if you stop there its a good point to head off and do some scuba diving which is what I am hoping for.

  11. Hi, l want to travel over to Tonsai Bay in April from Phuket and then from Tonsai Bay to Ko lanta and then back to Phuket. I wanted to know 1st of all are the ferries still running as April is the low season and what the costs are likely to be?

If the boats are not running been told you can do it by road but the journey is too long for me really.

    Thanks

  12. Hi, I did have a look around b4 posting but sorry if this question been asked loads of times,

I have a UK passport I am only 43 years old, every year I seem to get 29 days which from what I read means I have been just getting the transit visa. This year I want to actually stay around 40 days so it seems I need a tourist visa which last 60 days, is it best to try to get this while in the UK by applying maybe to the Thai embassy here or is it easier to do while I am there maybe at the airport, I do not actually know if I can apply over in the UK but know its better trying to get a visa rather than pay a fine I shall mainly be in the Phuket area.

    Thanks

  13. Hi, I am still in patong one last week to go, I thought it would be good to check out some hotels for next year as my budget won't allow me to spend 10,000 on a villa at holiday inn.

I require a decent price prob half of what I am currently paying, a pool and service is very important, while its not possible always I would like it to cater mainly for older clients rather than lots of kids etc, not really intersted if its close to night life or having guests brought back.

if anyone has any ideas I could at least have a look while I am here, thanks.

  14. Hi, next year will be looking to coming to Phuket again. So far had a good few days on Phi-Phi island then last year tried some where quiter Kao Lak. I found one end very quite and want to try somehere else even quiter, clean with nice views to just relax and shut off with my book. 15. Hi

I am planning a trip to Phuket again this year, in Feb I decided to spend a few days on the Island of Khoa Lax which was damaged. I had hope that it would really be quite but still it was not quite enough for what I wanted. I am really looking for very few people and be able to rest, snorkell etc before heading back to Phuket.

I wanted to know is there another Island I can head for or someone else told me to go right to the other end of the island which is quiter. Any advice would be great

    Thanks
