  1. Hi guys,

Does anybody happen to know the registration and test date for Por Hok in 2014? I'm looking into taking the test this year but cannot find the information online anywhere.

    Please help.

    Thanks,

    LC

  2. In fact they do. First class is not as profitable because many of those are business class point redemptions. However, they are always looking at the demand for business class which is highly profitable and growing that segment.

Many of the worlds best carriers focus on business class customers with an array of service, entertainment and excellent f+b. I don't mind 3x or 4x the price for it on long haul travel.

Economy travel in air these days is like being on a bus. No one can complain about economy travel because it is very cheaply priced.

My favorite three are Emirates, Singapore and Cathay, all outstanding!!

  3. I had a similar situation. I bought my wife LV luggage and handbag and lots of Prada and so on.

She won't use these things in Thailand. When I asked her she told me these things are too expensive to use so she keeps them nicely wrapped.

However when we travel abroad she takes these things out and uses them.

I can only guess that she wants to be seen as very conservative here.

    I suppose that's a good thing.

  4. Hi guys

Sorry about my post earlier if I didn't give my point of view clear. The point I was trying make is in my view we are lucky here. I compared us to the best top hotels, food, medical and apartments, actually those are my favorite places. All of them world class and I was showing that here we also have the same world class quality and have at reasonable cost of living. Our housing, f&b and medical are up there with the best in the world! That's one thing that to me makes the quality of life here very good.

Thats my opinion and just want to clarify.

    Thanks!

  5. Keep this fact in mind. Studies have repeatedly shown that when children of expats families go 'back home' they do not fit in with people their own age because they are Way Ahead of everyone in knowledge and worldliness.

  6. I have lived and worked in nine countries. I live my quiet life with my Thai wife and love it here. Very nice people, all the amenities of any place in the world, variety of shopping, food, sports, entertainment and high quality of life. I'm not one to go to for the nightlife. Have many Thai and expat friends also.

  7. Who remembers the Nite Owl, Bernard Trink. The great Roger Cruchtley. The fabulous days when the Post Bag was better then the news with Edith Clampton. Seems like so much of the humor and charm from those days has dwindled away.

  8. Spaniel, you have been around a while! I don't think many of the people here have been in Thailand as long as some of us. You are exactly correct, TIT was coined by our favorite writer in Bangkok for so many years, Bernard Trink. Only thing is the column was the Nite Owl. But.. I don't give a hoot!!
