  1. At Nonthabui you have to do it inside the 24 hours window or you be fine for do it to late.

I got a warning years back for doing it after 3 or 4 days, and Immigration put a note in computer system about it, told me, if every happened again, i be fine.

Can do it At Immigration or local police station in Nonthaburi i find out over the years.

  2. A update.

Today (Again) i go Nonthaburi Immigration office and got my 30 days under consideration for Married Extension.

We was there last week all so, but they NEED more paper work then what say on internet, forums and so on.

We have to fill out 2 A4 about how long i being in Thailand, when we meet, about my money, what about support wife, If Money stop from where i get money now and so on.

Landlord have to fill out 3 A4 about him self and us, where he live, how old he is and so on, if he can say yes to wife an i live together and a lot more.

Pictures the want some extra. Total they want 10 pictures.

Of us next to TV, Freezer, sofa, our wardrobe´s, front door, outside condo tower, one whit wife family, one in wedding clothing, one from a trip together a old one, as we inform them we be together some years now.

    Total 10 pictures (and copy)

I use income letter from my Embassy, BUT Nonthaburi Immigration want bankbook all so, to check if i transfer 40.000 baht pr month or more. Income letter alone is not enough they told me.

No witnesses to bring to Immigration, no check in our home later on, to see if we live here.

But after 2 trips to Nonthaburi Immigration, i hope next trip there give me the 1 year Married Extension (11 month more).

    Kindly.

  3. Hey all.

The wife and i want to move to Bang saen later this year, We love it there, and she have family there.

So beside go there and look street after street for a house to rent, do any have some contact information for agency or other ??

We be going back for a look our self again in August or so.

We looking for Townhouse, Detach house and so on, with full or some furniture, price rang 8.000 - 12.000 baht pr month + power/water.

And the water and power pay direct to the company.

Maybe condo, but want to look for house first, but it can be a option if need to be.

    Kindly.

  4. Well yes, Koh Kret is crowded in week ends, as is only in the week ends every thing/shop is open there.

Have many good place to eat there, have a boat trip around Koh Kret where you get to see a few things, like the desert factory and so on, the boat trip "can" change from trip to trip as what you going to see.

But the Desert factory is all ways on that trip.

And one side of Koh Kret you can take boat over and see a big temple (beside temple at Koh Kret) i see a lot of Thai do that.

I be there many times, as i live 10 min away from Koh Kret.

A tip, if take bus 166 from victory monument to Pakkret it is short walk to the boat like 2 min. Don´t pay tuk tuk or motorbike taxi 100 baht or more.

A tip more, DON´T buy the 300 baht ticket to get over the river, that people like to sell at Pakkret. Or at the river before you getting to the boat, as it only cost 2 baht pr person. You pay when you get over there. And pay over there before go back to Pakkret.

    Kindly.

  5. Well about your income letter, i can tell you it is up to the Immigration office how old it can be, No matter what the rules book say.

I know for sure my Immigration office say 30 days max, and send people away if letter is older.

So if it was me, i call them on the phone and ask them to be 100% sure. Only a information.

  6. Limit might be 20.000 - 30.000 pr time i withdrew, but my 3 banks have 100.000 or 200.000 pr day, and the 1 time i need 100.000, i use ATM 5 times in the row.

I know many people here get they money back, if someone else withdrew them, never be a problem, Bank look it up, if from a ATM machine, it take some days for them to find the ATM, look at the pictures for whom withdrew the money, and see if it is you or other person, Not you, you get your money back of cause.

If one can prove in 1 city, and the money withdrew in other city and so on, Money back.

All so, if one add sms service, you get sms same sek as money are use from your account, and you can stop it from you online banking, call your bank call center and close the card.

I feel it is good and safe system.

  7. Other say all ready, one do not need work permit for open a bank account, it is true some bank branch say so, walk on to the next branch and ask again.

Proof of residency from Immigration cost is different, at Nonthaburi Immigration it is free..

Interesting that you chose to register the marriage in your own country.

A legal Thai marriage s recognised in all Western countries.

It is really not that interesting, that the way it is in my home country (Denmark)

It is also because i want to secure my wife if one day i am not here any more, So she get her fair part of what i leave behind.

Also i get a good tax deduction every year in my home country where i still pay my tax if Married is register back home.

  8. “Because the translation of the documents required is very expensive”

Well i go married a few weeks back, and i don´t think the Translation cost that much, i only need 1 paper translate, price in Bangkok for that 300 baht.

But yea, total price for it can run up a little bit. Here is what i pay total.

First paper from my home country to say i was ready to married around 2.990 baht

First time at my Embassy 5.300 baht for the paper in Thai and English.

The go and legalized that paper i pay 800 baht (400 baht pr paper for done in a few hours, 200 baht if want to wait 2-3 day)

The go to our Amphoe, get married and pay 100 baht.

And then we legal married in Thailand.

    Total price 9.192 baht.

After that my home country want the Thai married paper (Kor Ror 3) Translate to English and legalized so that 300 baht for the translation and 800 baht for the legalized (i want it same day again), because Embassy need both Thai and English married paper.

Then 1000 baht at Embassy for them to stamp it, then send the paper back home, and then my home country will register our married.

    So that a additional 300+800+1000 baht = 2.100 baht

So for us total price is 11.292 baht.

  9. I use them last week.

    Price is 200/400.

About the Express service it is ONLY 50 a day, First day i go there take 1.5 hours, second day (After i was married) i have number 65, as was told only because some one before me want it send by mail i was able to do Express service that day.

Only a information to people out there.

I was there before 8 am, and many people all ready, so if one want Express service, come early might be a good idea.

If one need translate paper, they do that for 300 baht pr paper, guy I use for it was there before 8 am. take 20-25 min for translate.

Then it take 60 min for the office people to control it, before one can queue up for Legalization Service.

  10. M.O.E all ready do test on student, sure it is not all, or that many student, but they do it, sometimes when you renew you have to go to M.O.E and pass the test, or you get turn down for 1 more year.

It is a very "easy" test, and IF people go to school, all can complete it.

Maybe more control from Immigration office on the school ??

When i was a school in Nonthaburi, the Immigration come and check if we come and sign in on the days we have giving them paper for.

They come and take photo of us read, writing, practice with teacher. and one time on Video.

They sit down with us and ask us in Thai.

    What you name

    How old are you

    Are you married

    you have GF

How long you being in Thailand.

    You like Thai food

And so on, small things that i for one think is fair, and that one know after 6-12 month.

I see 4 student there get the Ed-Ext cancel because they don´t show up, don´t speak any Thai after 6 month.

No my school is in Bangkok and NO control at all there.

Every school i go to, Or be to a free class at, don´t have problem with student come or not, sure they don´t write it on the internet, but when talk to them no problem at all.

But when you come and talk to them, and tell them you have tight schedule, they say no problem at all, we make sure you get your paper and ED-Ext.

So for me the problem is both that so many here have to use ED because no other option because they not 50 years, and so many school don´t care about it and "fix" everything for one, they only think of the money.

  11. Thanks for the answer Ubonjoe..

My school will give me my letter say i finish on what every day i want it to be, so that no problem at all.

I only thinking of the date to put on it, as i plan to go to immigration start May as i read can be done 30 days before.

So i am not sure if the letter have to say the date i go there, or for the "real" finish date 31 May ?

If to many problems, i think i go to Laos like Ubonjoe write, as it is my understanding that when i cross the boarder there my ED-extension get cancel then. ?

And then i have to apply for 90 days Non O on Married, if i understand it correct, and change that to 1 year Extension when back in Thailand ?

Thanks again for to all try to help with my Extension to stay..

  12. Hey all.

I am on Ed-Visa extension and on 31 May 2014 i be on it for 3 years, i be told from the start i was only able to use it for a max of 3 years extension. The last 2 time my Immigration office told me to remember it be finish May (not the date is on it 31 May)

I going to Married on 7 April this year, and was hoping i can change to Married without leaving the country.

But of cause, If i need to leave to get it, it be okay after all..

I contact Chaengwattana Immigration (Bangkok), and Nonthaburi Immigration, as i live in Nonthaburi, but for now i use Bangkok, because my school is in Bangkok. I try call Immigration hotline all so.

I be told can do it.

I be told can´t do it.

I be told they not sure, have to wait and see.

So anyone know what it is the correct answer ?

Or do i need to wait and see at the beginning of May ?

If have to leave the country, where it is easy, best to go ?

Thanks for any information you guys can give me.

    Kindly.

  13. Well i live in Thailand, and have remove my residence from Denmark as one have to that when out of country more the 6 month pr year in Denmark.

For me i happy about the way it is now, my Tax go to help people back home, that NEED it, so for me that okay.

    .

Mouhahah you don't help anybody! You pay only a return ticket...

“Denmark to pay immigrants £12,000 to go home if they ‘can’t or won’t’ assimilate,

But no matter what, i am still happy to pay my tax money, we still have a lot of old people that need help, people that disability that need help and many more, so good Denmark take hand on them, and give them a chance to have a live after all. And not leave them for them self like many other country do.

But let not get this to be a fight about our country's, i am sure every country have good and bad side.

Back on tropic be good i think ??

  14. Well i live in Thailand, and have remove my residence from Denmark as one have to that when out of country more the 6 month pr year in Denmark.

But when you look at it from a money point, i get more money for my self at the end by paying the tax in Denmark Vs paying it in Thailand.

From Denmark i have a "good" personnel deduction pr month/year even so i live in Thailand, and pay less tax % of the total amount that way, then what Thailand want of my money. So i for one is happy about the way it is.

For me i happy about the way it is now, my Tax go to help people back home, that NEED it, so for me that okay.

Ubonjoe is correct, if one DON`T pay tax of the money in you home country, one now have to pay in Thailand.

PS: I for one have not be able to find more info about the " as well as on the portion of income from foreign sources that is brought into Thailand"

Like how must that "portion" is and so on.

  15. Why do you want pay tax In your home country when you stay one year or more in Thailand?

Have you heard of tax on residence vs tax on citizenship (USA)?

Well my country have a tax deal with Thailand about not double taxation. And my money come from Denmark.

It is Call (many country have same deal)

CONVENTION BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND

    AND

THE GOVERNMENT OF THE KINGDOM OF DENMARK

FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBLE TAXATION

AND THE PREVENTION OF FISCAL EVASION

WITH RESPECT TO TAXES ON INCOME

Sorry for going little of tropic. But want to clear it up for Cheapman.

  16. Well the 65.000 thb pr month is before you pay your tax of that money, so after taxing in your home country, the rest to live for, sound good / okay to live for ?

Well my Embassy use the numbers before Danish people have pay tax for the income letter.

But yes, 65k pr month is a lot of money to spend here pr month, but you don´t NEED to spend that. only have it (the 65k before taxing).

And yes, when on turn 50 years, live get "easy" to stay in Thailand, IF one have the funds / income for the requirement.

Can´t wait for that day my self..

  17. Get a Thai bank account, have a Visa / Mastercard to it, transfer your money and that it.

For transfer my Thai Bank take 300 baht and my home country bank around 240 baht.

Then when get my money from the ATM no fee..Pretty cheap way i think..

I think i pay like 300 baht to open a bank account. first time i have to put in 1000-3000 baht, and the bank take 300-500 baht for 1 year.

And was told to all ways have 1000 baht on it at the end of the year.

On top of that i have internet banking from Kasikorn Bank that work super great for every thing.

The Siam Commercial Bank and Kasikorn Bank Cards work in my home country all so.

Only information for you, hope you can use it.

    Kindly JJ Madcow.

  18. Well i live in Nonthaburi and go to school in Bangkok, So my 90 days Visa Ext. is at Immigration Chaengwattana Rd, and my 90 days address rapport is at Nonthaburi Immigration, I being told that i have to do it this way, Visa ext where the school have address, and addressee rapport where MY address is.

Both Immigration office say the same thing.

    Only a information.

  19. My school have a branch at Koh Samui at there the student have to prove a income of 50k pr month.

My school told me be like that for long time at Koh Samui.. So maybe it be in that neighborhood ??

I wish they remove the stupid 50 years for retirement extension, so we don´t need to use ED Extension.

Then people can chose and not be force into one or the other kind of Visa Extension.

  20. 1 mill for the first 3 years and no other money coming in (if i read it correct), before pension come in.

I don´t think it be enough for you.

Let take you own future money 45.000 baht X 12 = 540.000 baht pr year. that be max 2 years then, before that 1 mill baht is gone.

And after the first 2 years, you don´t have the money in the bank for your Visa Ext.

If you want to live where everything is going on in Bangkok, i don´t think 45k pr month is enough, BUT if you don´t mind staying like 25-40 min away, Sure it CAN be enough.

There is so many things to take into account. Do you and your wife like eat out on Farang place many time pr month, drink beer out, out and XXXX and so on.

In Bangkok a apartment i want cost around 30k-35k pr month, out here 12k.

Remember when looking for apartment to be sure you pay water and power direct to the company, many place the landlord SCAM the tenant a lot here take 6-8-10 baht unite power, and not the normal rate from the company.

I never pay more the max 2.000 baht in power in the hot time here, normal i pay 900-1200 baht for 2 people, water is free here i live, but before 160-200 baht for 2 people.

Internet 13mbit/1mbit, True super sport tv, 1 phone land line 1199 baht pr month plus vat/tax, and plus what i use on the land line.

Food we use 150-300 baht pr day for 2 people.

    Some thing to think about.

Do you need medicine, and what the price for it here, i know some one´s medicine that not cheap here, as Thailand have to import that medicine.

Do you have a health insurance, can cost a lot of money pr year, and can be dangerous to skip that part.

You have a wife, so she might have a income all so to help out ?

She can find work here and help out if she still can work, it is not against the law for Farang wife to work and help out, and many thai gf/wife enjoy working and help out.

It can be done to live here for that money, we do it and we live super great, we use 35k-40k pr month for every thing. A little more when we go on trip.

I wish you and your wife and the use on Thaivisa, a Mary Christmas and happy new year.

  21. Well if you have for 12 month curse and all ready have the approved from the M.O.E (i think you have)

Then your school all ready have all the paper for that year, as the school don´t send paper to M.O.E every 90 days, because they all ready have it.

Well that true for the 2 school i use for now. so i think that "normal" ??

So the school can give your you paper in like 10-20-30 min time if need to and IF there is a manager at the school that day, that permit to sign the school paper work.

If i tell my school to give me paper it take normally 2 day for the school, if i need a rush on it, they do it when i am there for class, and all paper is ready after class.

At the Immigration i go there like 26-28 days before, so i am sure every thing is good.

Last time at Bangkok Immigration Chaengwattana Rd. I was told it change from 30 days before to 45 days Now

I have not check if that correct, as 26-28 is okay for me.
