Second renewal of Non O for Retirement banking requirements
just in case, i am not sure if this is still the right topic i want to mention that a friend of mine who was extending his visa based on being married to a Thai, he was very upset coz he was asked for a translation of his marriage certificate from his italian embassy in Bangkok from italian (they got married in Italy) to ENGLISH and than from english to Thai. That's crazy, he was right to be upset, i wonder why a direct reliable official translation from italian to thai is no longer ok and it has to go through English first. There are sticter rules i can understand, I am a guest here and i have to think about Thai perspective but things like this which don t make any sense ...i cant really understand why they have to make the life impossible to a guy who had never had any issues here, married to a thai, owner of a property, a car and 2 motos etc... double translation for what ? i wanted to tell you just in case...

Second renewal of Non O for Retirement banking requirements
just done today in Cha AM. I had a year statement+ bank letter printed. 150Thb each. I think the price for the statement is the same either for 1 or 12 months, so do it for a full year just in case and even if it s 50 baht more, that's nothing. In the inmigration, small differences /issues compared to 1 year ago: Apart from all the forms, photocopies i had to sign in EACH sheet, there was a kind of "contract" where i was informed about all the cases that my visa could have been revoked. i had to fill that several pages long document and sign all sheets. Than, i was asked to print ALL PAGES of my passport "next time" (Oook,i ll do it next time) Than, I was asked (first time ) to draw a map with the location of my condo...i was given a ruler and a pen: back to school ! :it was fun Finally last by not last, at first they didn t want to let me fill the 90 days report at the same time coz it s 16 days earlier than the due date (last year it was 20 days earlier and no problem, ) but fortunately when my visa extension was approved, paid and stamped ,another employee said "it s ok, it s ok. we can do it now"... so, i made another queue (better than coming back, cant do it online coz i re-entered in October) and at the end after about 2h 30min i was all set and ready to go. Consider that i had to go to the bank first since statement, letter and pasbbok must be all done ON THE SAME DAY of applying for the extension (very annoying for Cha Am since the bank is about 10km away from the Inmigration office). But i heard that in other offices they are more tollerant (bank book updated on the same day, bt letter and statements few days earlier is ok). Not too bad, just some more signutures here and there (maybe 25 instead of the usual 15). and a drawing (that was funny).

Just finished Pathum Thani immigration
Here in Cha Am they want all 3 documents issued ON THE SAME DAY. since inmigration office is around 8km far and in the middle of nowhere, it s always a rush to go to the bank early and be the first in the long queue of people waiting for the door to be opened and than go as fast as possible to the inmigration. I have a couple of questions if you wish since i have to renew My 1 year visa soon. Last year i went to inmigration on Jan 7th, 20 days before the visa expired (you are allowed to go up to 45 days earlier i think) and they also filled the 90 days report despite it was supposed to be too early for that (up to 15 days earlier, but it was 20 days early ). So i didn t need to go twice. I am confused than: if you renew a long term visa, they can also fill the 90 days report even if it s too early for that ? Second question: Nobody seem to know if there is a limit to stay in Thailand with a 1 year visa, I mean i use to stay 6 months a year, but for example if you stay only 5 months ,Can you be told you stayed too little time ? In some countries you gotta stay min 6 months. Never been able to confirm if such a minimum exists in Thailand. Thanks in advance.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
i apologize if this question was already answered, but it's not easy to surf hundreds of old messages , so I go: I have a 1 year retirement visa and a valid re-entry permit. Now i am outside Thailand but i am returning in a couple of days. I need to fill the Digit card on arrival. What visa number do I need to write ? I don't see any number in my 1 year extension . I can see a handwritten number in my re-entry stamp, but i am not sure i have to write that number as visa number. Do i have to leave it blank ? I don't have a return ticket either, since I don't have plans on when i ll leave next time (i renew the visa every year). Question #2: Do i need to print it and keep a paper copy ? Thank you in advance.

Where to find Gros Michel bananas in Thailand
I read that there are Thai farmers who grow the famous Gros Michel Banana, which is the old variety of banana which was popular worldwide generations ago, before the Panama disease nearly exinguisehd it. Now it's extremely hard to find , but whoever tried it said is waaay richer/tastier/creamier than the common Cavendish variety. I'd like to try it,. Do anybody know a market where to find it ? In Thai it's known as Kluay Hawm Thawng Gros Michel is not only delicious but it's a piece of history. I'd love to find it.

Thai immigration online 90 day reporting system (2025)
Good day. A quick question (sorry if it was answered before somewhere in the forum): I have a 1 year visa extension valid until January 2026, but I exited Thailand few weeks ago with a regular re-entry permit, so everything should be fine. Nevertheless i got an automatic notification if the 90 days reporting ,which i should do it within mid June (last time i did it online in March). I wonder why i got the notification if the system should "know" I have exited Thailand. So, what I am supposed to do ? Just let it go without doing anything or contact the inmigration office by email ? I ask because this is the first time i get the 1 year extension (based on retirement 50yo +800K+ THB).

Retirement with 800k in the bank - do you need a 12 month overview or just last 3
For the first 1 year extension , a 2 months statement which shows i have had the 800K for 2+ months is enough ? Money arrived to Thailand in early October via oversee transfer In Cha Am they also want to see the bank letter and the statement on the same day which is quite annoying since the Immigration office is several km away from the town and the bank. They make you run and every time you have to go back because something is missing, you gotta pay the bank letter and stamped statement again What about the T30 document ? is that ok if it s dated 1 month ago ?

How to retire in Thailand
Nope, i couldn't find a specific answer about that. Maybe there is not a minimum stay inside Thailand, providing you don't overstay, you don't burn your single entry (if you don't have the multientry type) or you fail to do the 90 days report or to get the re-entry permit when you leave and you renew the visa on time. In most countries when you get a permanent resident, you are required to stay min 6 months a year or something like that, but this 1 year extension is not a real residence, just a long term permit, I am not really sure. In my case i plan to stay about 6 months in Thailand, 6 outside but I like this visa coz i wouldn't need to do a new visa every time.

How to retire in Thailand
does plain vanilla deposit include a fixed deposit like for example 1 year fixed deposit at 3% (better than nothing) ? Maybe inmigration prefers you have the money in something fixed and not where it can fluctuate. I was planning to make a fixed deposit of exact 800K and keep the surplus cash in a normal saving account.

How to retire in Thailand
Thanks for that. i have also a doubt about single/multientry 1 year visa. If after my 1 year visa extension is issued, i leave Thailand and come back ONCE, do i need the multientry or just single entry ? I am not sure if the single entry applies to my previous entry before the 1 year extension was issued or i can leave and come back once after it.

How to retire in Thailand
I have a couple of questions since rules have changed so many times. The first time i extend a 0 90 days visa to a 1 year extension based on 50yo+ 800K, do they ask me also for any medical certificate or insurance and a rent contract ? I heard they no longer ask for insurance inside Thailand, but what about a month by month contract ?= because i read somewhere they ask a 6 months+ lease. Second question: about the 3 months reports. Once i get the 1 year visa , if i go out few months , i get the re-entry permit in the airport (right ?) but what about the 3 months report if i am outside the country when it's due ? for example if i have to report on 30 June but i go out from 1 june to 30 august, what about that deadline ? I have to report when i come back and skip the online report when i am outside ?

How to retire in Thailand
I am sorry if this question has already been answered , for sure it has but searching into thousands of messages it's not easy ,so forgive me if i ask again: For 1 year retirement visas based on 800K in the bank account and 50yo age, is there a minimum stay in Thailand for the visa not to be cancelled or a number of permits of exits a year ? For example when i renew the 1 year visa , do they check if i stayed minimum ....say..... 180 days out of 365 or exited no more than 2/3 times etc..something like that ? No problem with the 800K, i just want to know if i go to visit my family or travel around, i want to make sure my visa is not cancelled without the need to make the whole process again. Thank you in advance

TM30 required
anybody know if in cha am new immigration office they ask it when applying for a 30 days tourist visa extension ? In 25 years in Thailand i have never been asked for it, but i heard things have changed now but information is very contradictory, i suppose it depends on the office or even on the single employee ?
