  1. "Deal with PEA"??

I gave up, they demanded signed letters from the whole Moo Baan that we wanted more power, the puu yai baan didn´t want to organize that work, kikiat I guess, so I bought a cheap manual voltage regulator (4.500 THB) - and I go out at night from 19 to 23.00, where the power is really low, and turn it up a few notches if needed.. wonderful life in bannok.. always something to do!

Seriously? Better put is perhaps had less formal education? I know people who did not finish high school who are filthy rich from their persistence and ingenuity that puts most
Ivy league people to shame. I would rephrase that to be politically correct if I were you.

    Up to you..

I like Thailand, because it´s free of all the stupid PC nonsense they have in the West, it´s gone totally crazy IMO..

If i had a dollar for every time I heard that statement!

I'm sick to the back teeth of it! just because this is thailand is no excuse for governmental incompetence! It's about time Thailand came into the 21st century.

Fair enough, this place ain´t for you then, move on and good luck..

People tend to forget why they came here, getting away from the nanny state and all that crap. I find the paperwork at Immigration very, very easy to do, but I´ve also seen other farang getting jai roon and arguing with the officers, because their paperwork was incomplete. I guess many farang come from a low class background and don´t know how to process admin stuff like that..

"I could not believe what he was saying as it was so ridicilous.I got too angry almost attacked him and kicked my luggage for many times.I stayed there many times when I visited Bkk and still can not understand why they did to me,what the real reason was...."

    Real reason? What´s your problem?

You paid too late, move on... and be careful, watch your back, Thai´s never forget, and payback time will come sooner or later.

While those of us unused to the system find it loathsome, it can be interesting to at least understand the Thai patronage system. Increasingly, Thai officials feel that long stay foreigners should integrate themselves into Thai society, and begin to conform to Thai norms. You can resist, but this will probably become painful as Thai officialdom becomes increasingly intolerant of foreigners unwilling to conform to Thai society and customs.

Thanks for the "news" or advise, but I know the drill. Have a high polib, a kamnan and a dep. sec. in the Government in wife family, but I don´t mingle, there´s always a catch: I help you, you help me, and this can be both good and bad..

    Nasty

Thanks.. I greeted one of the typical Euro/US Trash lowlife poor scumbags a few days ago, he answered:

    <deleted> off!

How do I know it was trash?

Well.. driving totally p!ssed on an old worn out  Honda Dream at 10.30 AM, dirty as a homeless, he looked like a total wreck, as the motorcy, perfect fit.

I don´t want to be associated with trash like that anymore, it´s enough, get them out of this country, and maybe these very small changes of the rules can help with that.

'I have lived my life on an entirely selfish basis' is an obvious response to such pontifications.

Welcome to cruel 2019 where a (wo)man using their good fortune in life to help others less advantaged is jeered at and called names.

One can only hope that at the final hour, some die in their expensive hospital beds alone and bereft of anyone who cares or mourns their passing.

Well, how you came to that conclusion is beyond me..

I´ve seen my fair share of very, very good people from many countries here, but too many of them are simply not mature enough to be here, or they are just stupid, reckless, whoremongers, drunks or, or, or.. to be living in a 3rd W. country like Thailand, where money rules, connections rules, class rules, mafia rules and so on it goes... and when they get in trouble - mainly by their own stupidity - we get a new post here on this fine website.

I like to live in a country where political correctness is non-existent, and when I see something, or read something stupid, I call it that, STUPID!

    Have a nice day..

Let me bring you to 2018, when I went to KTB in the shopping mall in Bangkok, where the guy I spoke with was genuinely a nice guy and wanted to help. Asked the manager. No. Poor guy effectively walked with me to Bangkok Bank and SCB in the same mall to try to help me, asking them in Thai. Yes, the KTB employee. No chance on tourist visa.

As I was walking with him through the mall, I got him chatting and he told me that many people opened accounts and then they were laundering money through them, and it created big problems.

So whilst I agree with part of what you are saying, since i opened an account myself in 2011 at Krungsri with 100K to impress them, some banks / branches will not take your money anymore. Times have changed.

Thanks for sharing your experience... Yes, times has indeed changed. I´m aware of that, so maybe it will get even more difficult in the future, who knows. In 2017 I moved from BKK to Nakhon Sawan, had to open a new account, and choose Bangkok Bank, as I already had that in BKK. Every bank is apparently an independent business, since they charge various fee´s if I use my BKK Debit Card or make deposits here, so a new account was my choice. Got the account, no problems, on Non-O Ext.

If you are American they might be more reluctant to open an account for you as compared to other nationalities.

    Why?

My experience is that personality, clothes, attitude and MONEY are key factors to get an account. Opened my first in Phuket 1999 on tourist visa, Bank Of Ayudhya and Bangkok Bank. Since then I´ve got Kasikorn Bank and several new Bangkok Bank accounts when moving around, also no problem, on first tourist visa and later Non O.

and if he doesn't have the money how can he leave it there, each individual has different problems, read his message and you feel he's stressing out, after 20 years of doing the same over and over all of a sudden these changes come up, some deal with it well others not so well

Then go back to your home country and stay there on welfare, or whatever..
