More hysterical behaviour from "democrat's" that can't respect the result of a democratic general election. Sore loser's but makes great social media content.

6 months sitting on their hands despite being given plenty of warning about what will happen post amnesty. Those taking advantage of the situation that never obtained further permission to stay are now crying like babies blaming Immigration for following the law of the land. One group I do have sympathy for however are those that have businesses here finding themselves in a virtually impossible situation, on the verge of losing everything and facing deportation to boot.

...even if I own a condo, am I still required to do the 14-day quarantine in a pre-approved hotel?
Could you be trusted to stay inside your room/s? Who would bring you food/water, supplies, take out your rubbish etc? Just a thought!

Why would you be on a pension when under 50 unless you have some sort of disability?
I started to receive my military pension aged 40 years old. Not rocket science????

Thailand's a great country to explore on a bike but 500cc is a bit puny for comfortable distance riding especially if you venture into the hills.

I dont think that would be an acceptable reason as to why you cannot return to the UK
Exactly, seems Thailand has been the residence for the past 15 years but no longer qualified to remain further. A bit of a pickle.

The anti-biker brigade are alive and well. The poor bloke was minding his own business whilst stationary. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time and his life was snuffed out in an instant. Helmet, no helmet, ooh, never ride a bike at night, never ride a bike ever, too dangerous. If he'd not been in Thailand he'd still be alive. Man alive, he was killed by a coward that chose to flee the scene. I hope the cop's track him down and bring him to justice. Criticise Thailand all you want but poor Harry Dunn and his family haven't received any justice for his death, killed by Anne Sacoolas, protected by the USA authorities.

I wonder if at 11:30pm there were any alcohol involved (either party).
Would a Helmet have made a difference???
-----
Not specifically related to the Op, but more towards motorcycling safety.
I made it a hard unequivocal rules years ago:
- Never ride a motorcycle at night (unless its a local 7-11 trip on a sub soi)
- Never ride with alcohol in my system
- Never ride without a helmet
- Never ride in flip-flops
- If going further than the nearby shops (supermarket etc) on a major road (in day time) wear Boots, Gloves, Kevlar Jeans or riding pants, Moto-jacket with back protector and of course helmet.
I usually take my flip flops off just in case they fall off whilst riding.
RIP to a fellow biker????????️

I couldn't agree more but when trump stands up and attributes any and all violence to the "radical left", that is not leadership, its inciting hatred and fear for political gain.
Maybe you're right, nothing radical about it, all been done before in many countries around the world and extreme politics on the left or right always ends in death and destruction.

Have some more Kool-aid.
Kool-aid? I know what violence, theft, burning building's and rioting looks like. The USA has a justice system that holds wrong doing to account. OK, it's not perfect and needs reform but burning down building's and looting from business owner's isn't the way to achieve this. It just sows the seeds of resentment, hatred, fear and polarisation. Any future leader should join together and condemn this behaviour, not blame each other for political gain.

Well, at least the choice is clear. Law and order or more looting and violence.

Missed a bridge, riding at speed on one of those shopping bikes? Sounds like he wasn't paying attention but still a tragedy for friend's and family.

Wonder what the management would say if you brought back gai yang to eat in hotel grounds????

Not sure the point you're making...that Bangkok Thais with money to spend don't come to Pattaya...try to get a parking space at Pan Pan Restaurant in Jomtien on the weekends. You can't because it's full of expensive European cars with Bangkok plates. There is a lot more to Pattaya, and the surrounding area, than "crappy bars," which mainly appeal to the Western and Indian markets in the first place.
I lived there for 4 years and that's just my point. Many commentator's think only of the Western style bar scene and bemoan the demise of their favoured hangouts. Family gatherings and eating out as opposed to bar crawling.

The average Thai can't afford to go on holiday and stay in typical western tourist style hotels and resorts. The ones that can won't frequent crappy bars with scantily clad girls and other genders touting for business on the street. They tend to visit with family and close friend's, gathering on the beaches and decent Thai restaurants to dine out at. Mostly Bangkokian's anyway, can't see Isaan folk queuing up for discounted hotels that cost a week's pay for just one night's stay.

An incredibly difficult situation for any leader to manage. Damned if you do, damned if you don't but his main duty is to the safety of the citizens of Thailand and he knows that if any experiment to allow foreign tourism goes pear shaped his head would be on the proverbial chopping block.
I'm waiting to see how the virus reacts during the coming cold northern hemispheres winter.

Yet another thug with a long criminal history getting the martyr tag. It's not really that hard to do what an armed police officer instructs you to do during an arrest.

Sales of crystal ball's must be one of the success stories of 2020. The big test will come when winter arrives to see what happens in the northern hemisphere. If the virus mutates or infections surge then kiss 2021 goodbye too. Seems that clown running the WHO has put his faith in "hope" for the next 2 years.

Hope? What a ????

Seems the only people that have any enthusiasm for being willing to pay a lot of money to intern themselves in what effectively is house arrest are those that aren't in the current list allowed to enter Thailand. I would guess retiree's, property owner's and those desperate to see their tee-rak's again. Over the last few days there have been cases where the virus has produced positive test results close to the end of and post quarantine period's. Which government official would fall on the sword when a breakout occurs? Get the popcorn ready????

Must aggravate those that thought "this time they're serious" and returned home plus those that forked out ten's of thousand's of baht for dodgy health, volunteer visas etc. Coming up to 09:30 and not aware of any official announcement yet.
