Not the OP but again you would have to be blind not to notice them. Most foreign criminals do not tend to enter often they are already here. A special look you ask? You do not need any special device to notice them they are obvivous . Any one involved in law enforcement could spot them.

No criminals living in usa or uk hahahahahahahahahah. The majority of ex pats here, are decent people with enough m,oney to live their lives

I can fully understand the wanting to get back here, really!

The so called pressures are nothing specific, just a build up of straws that have broken the camels back.

Not sure which straw was the final weight!

I have lived in Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya and Issan and found them all to be acceptable and enjoyable.

I just feel quality of life here has deteriorated substantially in the last 10/12 years.

So if quality of life has deteriorated in the last 10/12 years, how long have you lived here, 20 years?????

I've lived/worked here for nearly 11 years and have a family here.  There are certainly pros/cons of living here, but I haven't really experienced any changes that have made my life more restricted or oppressive, even though I loathe the politics here.  Perhaps the OP could be more specific about the "pressure" he is feeling?

BEEN here a few years longer and i dont feel any pressurte, with governments, with police, with army, with visas, what is the problem with  people.

  4. By the way - if you cannot reach the shockingly high bar described by 'eastendanto', don't worry - many of us have got visit visas for our Thai partners with far less in assets - we've had two successful applications and i never bought airline tickets in advance for example. But i repeat - it is better to say your fiance has NOTHING to contribute to the trip (and that you are paying for all of it) than to say she has 'X' in the bank and then it not be there on the page. Putting that £900 in the box for her contribution was just a little mistake and they pounced on it.

Disagree, my partner did all the work herself, submitted her bank statements, letter of company she worked for etc etc, no problems whatsoever.

  5. Foolish answers as always.

Ask yourself why you came to Thailand? Was is the floods? The drought? The corruption?

People that are always so negative are the ones that have no idea what a real relationship is whether western or in Thailand.

Is love 2 people caring for each other in the most spectacular way?

If it is maybe you are not doing your 50%?

If you are, you already know the answer to the ops post.

    Of course love is possible.

When you have love and respect and treat any woman equally you can have love regardless of nationality.

I am amazed every day how much my wife is still in love with me, so I can tell you it is possible if you are doing the right things as a man.

Excellant post Sir, i despair at some farangs, they are very sad, lost souls who cannot give love themselves, hence they cannot accept love, so reject it.

  6. These constant visa rule changes are part of the reason I left Thailand with my family this year. I didn't feel comfortable planning to raise our two kids in Thailand knowing that at any point in the next 20 years immigration could suddenly invent a new rule which didn't include me and our life in Thailand would be over. As it happened I already didn't fit into any real visa status and ended up entering Thailand on Visa Exemptions and getting extensions based on having children there, many consider this abusing the system but there was no other option for me so I did what everyone always suggests and went back to my home country with my family.

Thailand is only for holidays and that's how they want it. Go there, spend all your money and go back home again.

12 MONTH extension based on marriage?????, show a pittiful sum of 400,000 baht a bob,s ye uncle
