As I said earlier, my state pension is paid direct to my Bangkok Bank Account, I also claim the extra pension on my annual visit home and this usually appears in my BB about a month later. 

My pension falls due on a Thursday and paid via Citibank I receive it around 0930 on the Friday except when a Thai Bank holiday falls on a Thursday or Friday.

However, I have another pension that falls due on the 19th of the month and this always takes a minimum of two days to reach my Bangkok Bank Account, if the 19th falls on a Friday and the Monday is a bank holiday it can be Wednesday before I receive the funds!

Your re-entry permit is tied to your current permission to stay, when that expire so does the re-entry permit ( check the expiry date on the re-entry) So when you get a new permission to stay you need to get a new re-entry permit.

I believe Makro was sold recently which may account for the drop in quality, there was also a report a few months ago that the police had set up a desk in Makro and were checking farangs for work permits on the basis of they were shopping in Makro they must be running a business ! Not heard any recent reports that this is still happening?

I was offered their "Health Insurance" last week if I opened an account ( only need passport mister no work permit) when I read the small print it was accident insurance, 2700 baht per year for 50,000 baht cover, same policy with my broker 1000 baht!

Yorkies is on Chaipruk 1 just off Sukhumvit whilst The London Pie Shop is where the old Western Wholesale Meats used to be on Chaipruk 2, again just up from Sukhumvit on the right.

I have lived here for eleven years on Soi Nonghin off Chaipruk 2 and whilst the area has grown and Sukhumvit can be busy at times I am quite happy and wouldn't want to move. You don't say where you live, however, in Pattaya there is Collingbourne Auctions that have a sale every Saturday, they regularly have catering equipment, they are located on Chaipruk 2 and you can view any day. Plus as already mentioned there is a second hand warehouse on Soi Khopai who have a cross section of goods, there is a third dealer also on Soi Chaipruk who has a huge open air lot again with various items .
