And that tells me a great deal about the guys character! We need to steer well clear and leave him to stew!

I thought the same at first. Then remembered Mahrez did the same at Leicester. Still don't like it though. Will he throw his toys out if he doesn't get picked every game, cos at City nobody is guaranteed a start as rotation is the key to staying in as many comps as possible.

I hope we can pick up a DM to give Rodri a rest at times.

Apparently we are going to put an improved bid in for Matheus Nunes from Wolves.  We offered £47m but Wolves want £60m. He's gone on strike apparently to try and force the move

Walker has pretty much eliminated some stupid things he used to do, but he relapsed today. Rodri bailed him out.

Yeah t'was a schoolboy error that was. He won't be doing that again. In fairness though, it was Walker who kept the ball alive and then skinned the defender for our second goal.

Hi BJ , Please can we retitle this thread for the 23'24 season. Thanks

It doesn't get renamed every year Ken. If you remember there was an old thread (as with all the other teams) but they were clogging up the system so JonathanFairfield created new topics for all the active teams and named them all ***********2019 so that you could tell the difference between the old and new topics

Never heard that , very interesting , do you have a link for that ?

"As per Athletic, some staff members of the English club are considering resigning from their positions if Manchester United decides to reintegrate Greenwood back into the first team. Furthermore, some staff members are reportedly exploring the option of calling a strike. "

In a statement, Greenwood accepted he had "made mistakes" and took his "share of responsibility", but added: "I did not do the things I was accused of."

United have said "based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged"

So , if United after a 6 month investigation say he is innocent of the charges and the Prosecution service have dropped all charges , why would sponsors and high profile supporters dump united ?

It will be interesting to see where he ends up , and if the sponsors of said team withdraw financial support.

The prosecution service dropped the case because the key witness was bought off decided not to give evidence. We all heard the audio and saw the pictures. If these were fake, or staged etc then that should be made public and the person who made them should be prosecuted for wasting police time. Why hasn't that happened? Even United employees where threatening to go on strike and many think that is a major factor in the decision to let him go. It would be a major PR disaster. The problem is, there is a lot of smoke about this and nothing has been cleared up. It would have been better to go to court and get cleared once and for all in the same way Mendy did. Until something further is brought to the publics attention that proves his innocence, there will always be doubt

  7. Pep Guardiola to miss upcoming Man City matches after back surgery

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will recover in Barcelona after emergency surgery on a severe back issue

Pep Guardiola will miss at least two Manchester City matches after undergoing emergency surgery on a longstanding back problem.

The Catalan flew out to Barcelona for a successful operation after suffering from severe back pain recently, and will spend a few weeks recovering there before returning after the international break. That means that for the Sheffield United and Fulham matches at least, assistant Juanma Lillo will take control of the team.

Well it's official , Mason Greenwood has left.

I know people's views differ , but I would have liked to have seen him stay.

He (and subsequently the club) would have suffered abuse on a scale not previously seen, week in, week out. Sponsors and high profile supporters would have dumped United so as not to be be viewed as supporting him. Both the club and he knew that and so took the right way out

Can you take on the responsibilities of the comp? Mrbo and I can help with posting etc etc.

He struggles to get his own predictions in on time, never mind doing anyone else's. Oh and he's useless with IT. He'd break the unbreakable spread sheet in 5 minutes

An incredible tireless performance from Foden today. Easily the MOTM despite Alvarez's rocket goal.

A strange thing has been Rodri's multiple loose passes. Not just today but in the last game as well. Weird.

Chuffed with that result. Was gonna be tricky to start, regarding fitness levels and injuries but with the FA not supporting any English teams who play in europe, you have to get on with it and dig in.

Agree about Rodri. Used to be so solid but Dias was there to cover and hardly anything got passed him

As for Foden. Difficult to give a quick summary on his performance except stunning. Absolutely stunning

I think the VAR officials should be getting more heat than the ref.

Looks like they have all got the heat. "Referee Simon Hooper, video assistant ref Michael Sailsbury and assistant VAR Richard West have all been omitted from this weekend's Premier League fixtures after dropping a clanger during Manchester United's win over Wolves."

  12. Hi all

Sorry but not going to run the comp this year. It's a lot of work and there wasn't the usual uptake in numbers. Nobody else offered either, so cancelled. If the uptake is there next year will take another look at doing it

    Cheers

Seppius has pulled out. Not really worth running it with so few numbers, it's too time consuming just for 9 people. Unless someone else wants to have a go or we get more participants I don't really see the point this year
