Thai Department Warns Tourists Against Buying Fake Driving Licences
CALSinCM replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The Chiang Mai group web site is flooded by a user who uses multiple user names to spam the heck out of the site advertising getting a license without taking a test. Screenshot here without identifying stuff. If the RTP was really interested in investigating the scam is easy to find. But? TIT. Tourist know it's a scam. If you saw a ad like this in the US the cops would be all over it, and you'd know it's a scam right away. So a tourist comes here and says, "Oh boy - I can get a DL without taking tests. I'm sure that all legal. It says it's legal so it must be. 🤞" Yeah right! Can you get a DL in your home country without taking a test. Nope. -
Do you know that in Thai?

What's the Thai phrase for "Keep the change" allowing someone to keep the change of a transaction as a tip?

I'm waiting for AI to be able to take the text and covert it to natural Thai language. Haven't found that yet. Hard enough to find text to natural English.

I've got an account with Coins.co.th which I've had for about 7 years. Bought a small amount of BTC which is now a lot more than when I bought it. This was basically a HODL buy. My intention was to hold on to it (and still is). However, I would like to have the ability to move it or cash it out if I want. But - It seems my account is essentially frozen - can't buy, sell, send, or receive. I guess you have to complete a verification process. I have completed that process with the exception of the final step which is the NDID. The final step in the process is to create a "National Digital ID" (NDID) with your bank and then link it to coins.co.th. The only problem being? I don't believe that non-Thais can do that. Has anyone else run into this issues and what was the workaround. Thanks.

Does anyone know the approximate cost for a 24 Hour Holter Heart Monitor test at a Thai hospital?

Do they seem to be geared toward Thai-only patients?

Has anyone been treated at Chiang Mai Geriatric Hospital? As we get older age related diseases happen. I'm interested in how good their diagnostic capabilities are. Looking for reviews and recommendations. Someone is bound to ask, "What's wrong with you." I don't know other than not feeling well for a long time, yet I've had a complete blood workup and physical and there is nothing in my tests that stands out. Anyway, I'm looking for options. So I'm considering a consultation there. But I'd like to get feedback first.

I'm looking to change insurance brokers (I'm not happy with the customer service of my current broker who is not in Chiang Mai). I have a policy with AIG on a 'city car' with a premium under 9K THB. I'd like to maintain the policy renewal at the current premium rate, but not through the broker that has provided the policy in the past. I'm looking for a reputable broker in Chiang Mai who can provide good customer service as well as continuing the AIG policy renewal. Mods. I know there is an 'insurance forum' but this query is specific to Chiang Mai.

Let me guess. If you are stung by a box jellyfish, you'll be deported for interfering with sea life in the sacrosanct Thai seas? -

COVID infections falling steadily, fewer fatalities over past month
CALSinCM replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm "Unvaccinated." So is my wife. Most of my family are vaccinated (in fact, I don't know anyone who didn't take the shots). All of my "vaccinated" family members, friends, as acquaintances whom I know - have had Covid at least once. Some twice. Some three times. In 2021 my wife and I were exposed to "Covid positive" symptomatic family members. Twice that I know of. Neither my wife or myself have had Covid, unless that "cold" we have in three years ago in July 2020 was "Covid." We beat that infection in less than 10 days. Other than that? We been as healthy as can be. No Upper Respiratory Infections of any kind since July 2020. I can't say the same for other family members who had "Upper respiratory illnesses" over the last three years. The only other "difference" between my wife and I and other family members? We never took the mRNA shots. So? Go figure? Of course we are going to hear from others - "You're going to die of Covid!!!" For some reason? I don't think so. -

Here is what I want to know? WHY? Why are there not reliable OTC tests for "The Flu." Why are there not reliable OTC tests for "A Cold." Why are there not reliable OTC tests for pneumonia." Why are there not reliable OTC tests for Dengue." Why are there not reliable OTC tests for salmonella as well as all the other gastrointestional pathogens." Why are there not reliable OTC tests for all of the other things that have the potential to "kill you?" Why only tests for "Covid?" And why are only Covid statistics hyped? Just wondering? -
Climate Change May Have Caused Deadly Chumphon Plankton Bloom

I just hope that world governments will make us all live in 15 minute cities and make car driving illegal except for the wealthy and government elite and their functionaries. Only corporate and government vehicles should be allowed, and all commercial jet traffic should be banned except for private jets and military. The public needs to stop driving, stop flying, stop taking vacations, stop eating meat, and stop eating rice (https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2019/06/how-rice-is-hurting-the-planet/), and turn to soy and lab grown solutions endorsed by the WEF, as well as stop having children, and tithe the government at least 10% to 50% of your income to fight global warming. Personally I think that people should volunteer to "check out" early in order to allow the useful segments of society to function. All those useless CO2/Methane producing plebs should be forced to limit their lifespans to save the Earth which will end as we know it by 2030 if drastic solutions are not embraced. Those who no longer are useful should volunteer to end their lives early to save the planet like all retirees. -
I'm sort of at my wits end with trying to find a luthier or guitar repair in Chiang Mai. (Mods - please don't dump this back into the Chiang Mai forum as I've tried to sort this out there without success). So I'm now looking to try to find a luthier or guitar repair anywhere in Thailand as trying to find one in Chiang Mai has been a wash-out. I have had a number of people look at my guitars, fiddle around with them, charge me money, and not fix this issues. Face-saving seems to be a real issue. If someone says they fixed the problem (like intonation or fret buzz) and you put the guitar on a tuner and show them it's not fixed, then you get a smile and a "No Problem. Guitar sound good. ฿400 please!" But they don't fix the problems. I'm speaking from experience. I've also had a number of people tell me to go to YouTube to learn to do it myself. Ok. I've done that and I can't. Bad eyesight make it almost impossible." Plus even with the videos, I really don't know what I'm doing. "If you do THIS, than it will correct THAT problem." But it doesn't - then what? I'm tired of trying to do this on my own. There are a ton of electric guitars in Thailand, and yet? Who can set them up with they don't work correctly? I need someone who knows how to setup and/or repair electric guitars. If I have to? I'll pack the guitar up and ship it to a qualified luthier if I can find one in Thailand. So I need suggestions regarding where to find a good guitar repairman / luthier here in Thailand - one who speaks English. It really is frustrating to have two guitar, both which have fret buzz and intonation problems that are beyond my ability to fix (as well as number of 'guitar techs' I've gone to in Chiang Mai who can't fix the issues either).
