Banking
Hi guys. I lived in CM for 8 years on a retirement visa, I am now back in NZ, returning as a tourist for a month each year. So, I am wondering how things stand with my bank account with Bangkok bank. I still have around 100,000 thb in there. I plan on returning for good in a few years , so want to keep it open and maybe start adding some savings to it. Im not sure how I stand though, now that I have no type of visa. Can I legally even have a bank account? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Thailand bank
Hi. I have heard lately of people having their bank accounts closed while out of Thailand. I originally came here on a retirement visa and have been with Bangkok bank for last ten years. Last couple of years left Thailand and GF used ATM just to pay rent, never a problem. Am leaving Thailand again soon but have now heard these rumors and am concerned, some say they lost their money when account was closed. Very grateful for any advice/info. Thank you.

New Zealand pension.
Was doing it mainly for the marriage visa but now thinking best to stick with retirement and save any future problems. Cheers.

New Zealand pension.
Thank you for the information. Looking at the site you directed me to I see that being married considerably lessens the amount of pension you receive. Am in the process of getting married in Thailand right now, may have to rethink. Any thoughts?

New Zealand pension.
Hi. I am hoping to find someone who has retired here from NZ, or who has knowledge of this, and can advise. I am seeing conflicting information online concerning the age pension, the only type which I will be receiving. At a glance I read that you can take your NZ age pension and live anywhere, but looking further into it, it says you can leave NZ for no longer than 26 weeks or pension will stop. I am a few years away yet from the required age and fulfill all the requirements, just cant seem to find any solid info concerning this. If the 26 weeks is correct are there any loopholes? Thank you.
