  1. What’s with all these Russians, everyone must pay their own bills or go back home. Thailand does not need these kind of ‘tourists’ we’ll probably just there to stay out of their war with Ukraine but if they can’t afford to be in Thailand . . send them back home.
  2. If this is introduced, you’ll find tourist will cancel their Thailand holiday and go to another Asian destination like Cambodia or Vietnam maybe even visit Philippines. Tourists won’t spend thousands of dollars to going for a Thailand vacation and forced to wear a mask, what a terrible way to spend your holiday. I’m pretty sure neighbouring Asian countries will be delighted to take all these tourists. Thailand sure knows how to kill its tourism for the next few months or more.
  3. Yes it should be 4am closing. There are a lot of people younger people who do like to have night life while on holidays. There is a lot of old people on here that don’t like nightlife as they are old and married and a lot are retired but give the ‘living’ people some fun in holidays . . and they will do both. . enjoy temples and sightseeing and able to mix and and meet at bars and clubs as young people love to have fun . . Open to 4am is nothing unusual here in Australia and a lot of western countries already !
  4. Thailand supports Russia so the rich dudes yacht is safe in Thailand but I’m sure Thailand will loose quite a few tourists from a lot of the world but especially Europe as it’s supports Russia . . .
  5. That’s tough on them . . try living with no power, no water and bombs dropped onto your homes . . they can always go back to their own country and enjoy their Freedoms.
  6. At present with all the red tape to get into Thailand the majority of people will choose another destination which is just as good. The chance of being covid positive and sent to some hospital to spend your holiday, what a waste of time and money. Other Asian countries are opening with less red tape so I pretty sure people will just go to say Vietnam or Philippines and even Cambodia.
  7. What has a lot of people been thinking . . they want to bring casinos into Thailand and guess where they want it ? Pattaya will be the casino hub and it’s aimed at the Chinese market . . why do you think Bangkok and Phuket are open but not Pattaya ? they want it gone and this is probably why
  8. It’s obvious to all foreigners that the government wants Pattaya to collapse so they can ‘try’ to turn it into something new. You can go to a restaurant or a bar in Bangkok, Phuket and various other parts of Thailand and enjoy a drink while on holiday but not Pattaya and why is that ? the government want it gone, no more, it’s over 100%. This ‘maybe’ a good thing but it depends on what they want it to become. From what everyone says on various posts they want only Chinese and Indian tourists markets and probably have a few Chinese casinos thrown in but the Pattaya it was is done and dusted. It was getting pretty seedy anyway. Unfortunately a lot of restaurants and hotels will go under as no tourists will come. What tourists go for a holiday where there’s no nightlife and no alcohol ? Not everyone drinks but while on holidays most people love to have a drink, go out and socialise but everything is closed so why go there, neighbouring countries will be delighted I reckon $$$
  9. It’s pretty much over since the street markets etc were taken away and now with the current government it will never be a thriving area of Bangkok. It’s over ! completely over. Backpackers from all over the world came here and did spend money here and travelled the islands of Thailand but with this current paperwork to actually get into the country they will never return as to much red tape plus the government is pretty much set on destroying all nightlife in Thailand and younger people love nightlife. Most hospitality businesses are going broke fast with no traveler's so I’m no afraid it’s a sad situation for hospitality bussiness in Thailand. Very sad for Thailand to loose its appeal but I’m pretty confident other neighbouring countries will jump at the chance of taking the popular tourists market and making them feel very welcome. Times have changed, Thailands government wants to cater only for the Chinese and Indians and westerners will just have to find a new destination. . it’s happening . . words out !
  10. People who wish to holiday want open hotels, resorts, restaurants, ferries, day trips, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, shows, island hoping, massages, and the list goes on . . at present there is very little open from reports so what are holiday makers suppose to do on their holidays. . plus from reading on here it sounds like a big hassle to get the approvals and quarantine hotels and all the red tape.
  11. So much negative chat on Thailand’s new era of a great holiday destination . . somehow I think this alcohol ban with all the red tape to actually get into the country will only put tourists off completely. it sounds like if a tourist gets caught with a beer for heavens sake he’ll end up in jail on their holiday ???? I think most tourists watching what’s happening on the ground are definitely being put off going there. They need to sort it out before any tourist recovery is destroyed completely. Most tourists can actually have a drink at a restaurant or a bar in their own country yet can’t if they go on holiday to Thailand. . why go there . .
  12. So how many tourists will go to a holiday destination with no alcohol in restaurants or a bar ? So you can’t even relax by the pool or beach with a beer or a cocktail for your wife ? so how is it you can buy a drink of alcohol in just about every other country but not Thailand ? Sorry what are they trying to do there ? are they only looking for non drinking tourists from now on ?
  13. It’s very obvious that the previous Thailand nightlife will never return which is ok . . . but for tourism to succeed you need tourists who want to enjoy day activities plus go out at night, have a meal, go to a bar or a club and enjoy your holiday . . if you cannot why would you go. . just about every other country you can do all the above with no restrictions.
  14. Too many rules for most double vaccinated tourists ! until they get there act together people will just go to neighbouring countries. . or else ware
  15. Why would tourists come if all nightlife - bars and clubs and entertainment venues are closed. Their own country is open in all regards so why come to Thailand for a holiday when you can’t even have a drink anywhere while on holiday. it’s not a sensible idea of getting tourists as tourists work hard all year in their country and want to let loose it relax and enjoy themselves so why would they come to Thailand when nothing is open ? sounds boring !
