Do we really need the “Yanks”? Consider the following;
They brutally murdered, burned, tortured and did a lot of ethnic cleansing to millions of true Native Americans, and afterwards they had the guts to call themselves true Native Americans.
They were the main culprits of the slave trade; again millions of these people were also brutally murdered and tortured.
All the technology that comes from America is not truly their own, it stems from the Nazi scientists that they kidnapped during the second world war and the blueprints that they took back with them, even today most of the improved technology comes from scientist that have defected to America
They have never won a war on their own yet without the help of allied forces, but they were quick to claim the glory.
They use our country as a dumping ground for most of the redundant industrial technology.
Not to mention the education system which they have completely destroyed with the so called “American English” keep word English out it should be called the American language, and not American English.
The list goes on and on. I strongly suggest to read the book “The invasion of the Barbarians” if you want to know what the Americans are truly up to.

Well done.... We won't be hearing from him any more.
He obviously doesn't have the same sort of money as Chalerm or many other 'rich' socialite families from Bangkok.
I know it’s difficult, but try and change your “thought train” there is no difference between the rich and the poor anymore where the rule of law applies. Justice is equal for everyone regardless of social status.

How about new school computers with internet and up to date software in all schools. Or newer and more books for their libraries. A higher budget for science and other advanced classes to allow students more fliexability to enhance their imaginations and explore new ideas. Or even teacher training to get students to learn instead of memorizing everything.
Sent from my GT-S5310 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
It might be a good idea to introduce the three RRRs along with your properly trained teachers, however properly trained teachers would have to be brought in from outside at cost , bang there go's the military budget.
If everybody could pay their tax and operating license fee and the people could give back the money that they stole, then “WHAM” there comes the military budget again.

If generals want to impress us and students with something better, then tablets - they should follow the trend:
today everybody uses phablets,not tablets!
I keep one in my hands now:10inch,4 core,2 sim,3G internet,works like breeze!how much? - 150US only.
They should create nationwide educational network on 3G,school phablets locked into it.Such network can be used
in emergency,like national disasters or...political disasters...or....tsunami....
If they just allocate funds - funds are being stolen in Thailand routeinly from the beginning of time and nothing will
change about it.If they give student a pencil,he will have the pencil,if they give a tablet/phablet - student will have
the phablet,if they allocate funds for whatever - student will get nothing, somebody will get rich.
It would be nice if we can all aford one like you can

Perhaps they could find the time to investigate the toll gate operators, many of them are corrupt thieves they will both not give you a toll gate slip and pocket the money, or they will give a false slip and pocket the money, or they may short change you. This is a practice that has been going on for a long time especially with foreigners and during rush hour traffic.

A good start wouldl be the immediate trial of the the "burn Bangkok down" / "bring your petrol bombs" group.
What about the guy with the long dark hair and the thick moustache that beat up the Monk, that’s who we really want.

This is just for starters today, with a host of other things, I do not care what politics your from you cannot knock this guy.
I kinda think he should be prime minister.
He doesn't need to be a prime minister.
He is laying the foundations now for a better Thailand, and a return to the parliamentary system.
I just hope when they come back, they don't put Thailand in the same s$it as before.
The big question is, Do we really want them back?

Hey. He goes up in my estimation.
But its quaint and all. I can't stand these army generals moaning and complaining. If you dont like it, why don't ..............
Firstly He is quite right you know, there are no landmarks for the foreigners to follow, and when one asks a local for directions they simply say “noon” without giving any real directions or landmarks.
Secondly, I can bet my bottom dollar that the majority of us all support the generals moaning and groaning, because you know what! They are changing the country for the better. And most of all they are teaching us not to accept wrongdoings, like the “never mind” syndrome that have been imbedded into our brains in the past.

No, it’s not our education system, it’s because of GRAMMAR. You think I’m wrong? Then answer this, why is it that after 6-7 years of trying to learn English many of us are incapable of constructing a basic sentence in English conversation? Why is it that the majority of our Thai grammar teachers are incapable of having a basic conversation in English, because we don’t know how to teach VOCABULARY, Vocabulary is not just learning the meaning of items and words, it’s far deeper than that, its teaching you to talk, if you can talk then you can understand, read, and write. Grammar, which is basic sentence structure, will follow automatically. In countries where English is not the first language, grammar should not be concentrated on at primary level, rather vocabulary, which will give the students the basics when reaching high school, which will be a tremendous asset when learning grammar. Including this in the last two years of high school academic vocabulary words should be taught, which in turn would prepare the students for higher learning. In conclusion if you want to improve the English language in Thailand, then we will have to re-educate our educators.

They can also start curbing all the red and white poles that are placed on the public roads that motorist put there to book their private parking. Some at the expense of causing huge traffic congestions, and furthermore, they can also put a stop to delivery vehicles before 9am on weekdays which also causes more traffic congestion on our packed roads.

Oh well! We can look forward to 2 weeks of kids falling asleep in class, and a massive loss of production from the working population.

Yea! The days are gone, when money can buy you out of anything you do illegally. "if you do the crime, you must do the time"

”their requests for more relaxed traffic laws,” Jeez guys, how more relaxed can our traffic laws be? I suppose they want to drive on the footpath too, just like the motorcycle taxies.

Unfortunately gambling is one vice that would be hard to suppress, it’s in our blood and practiced almost on a daily bases, it’s done between our family members at home, between our co-workers in the office, between our children at schools and universities, wherever one looks there is some form of gambling going on. I even heard that there was a underground betting station as to how many deaths will occur during our 7 most dangerous days during the holiday season.

I hate these news articles who do not provide the background.
What is the problem with the mine?
its been in the news for a while now if you bothered to look. The mine has been letting its run off poison the ground water and all the villagers have been getting sick, crops dying etc. As usual the rich owners live no where near the mine so have never worried about safety or proper practices as that would take away some of their profit. Basically the mine is slowly killing everything and everyone in the area with the poisons they use to extract the gold.
I don’t think it’s a matter of “bothering to look” I think it’s not having sufficient time to read the news in detail every day, it would be nice if some background material could be given before the actual topic, especially a older topic.

You can stand on your head and whistle “Dixie” but you will never be able to curb smoking, no matter what you do. Rather try and curb public drinking which occurs every day on the food vendor’s street tables.

all great, but only if both sides would be held accountable... which is unlikely to happen I guess.
We shouldn’t get confused with the past, where our governments took sides and only supported their voters. The military takes no sides and does not favor any political party.

In Chiangmai there is a hospital on just about every corner and they are still building. Not a bad thing at all and I wish places like Melbourne Australia would take a leaf out of Thailand's book. I think Melbourne has a total of 3 hospitals with waiting lists extending years for surgery.
These are not "free" Hospitals chooka, these are being built for the well heeled who can well afford to pay for what they get,
in Essan I watch Thai's line up outside our local hospital for sometimes 5-7 hours just to be seen.
You think Melbourne has about 3 hospitals --- your very close, they have 35. in the metropolitan area, more outside.
It doesn't improve the health of a single poorer Thai if they build a 100 private hospitals in Chaing Mai.
Try and understand that we are in a transition stage, where the old answers are no longer sustainable; we are experiencing the labor pains of a new Thailand, that’s why we are facing the crisis we have today

In the past status, money, and connections in high places, meant that one could get away with many crimes. But, now things have changed, because everyone is equal in the eyes of the military. “If you do the crime, then you must do the time.”

Following or trying to follow the example of Bhutan.
As usual Thailand is the hub of imitation as opposed to innovation.
So what! Many countries around the world follow ideas from other countries if it works for them.

Surly more good than bad could be done if they just annex the property instead of destroying the property? Think of the revenue the forest reserve could earn by renting out the rooms and bungalows to foreigners and the people in the holiday season.
