All the hotels chains seem to indulge in price fixing..having to pay 5k for what used to a be 2.5k aloft or courtyard and then when you reach the hotel the manager claims its a bit slow this year...

Agreed, what i meant was overstaying and illegally working in Thailand/Malaysia isnt as attractive to Indians as before.

All of them, indian economy/salaries are way better now and working illegally /overstaying is unlikely to happen in Thailand & Malaysia. Infact i know a lot of workers from India in Malaysia who have gone back for better prospects in India during the last few years. The visa exemption isnt done without a reason.

For some of us annual reporting is approaching- my first time doing it- is it online/ similar to the 90day reporting?

Used the LTR to re-enter Thailand first time since issued and the immigration officer said he had never seen this before and chatted with his colleague on what he shud actually stamp on the passport....

Doubt if the PRC are keen to travel as has been hyped in the Thai and Malaysian media. The only PRC travellers I saw this week were going back after being stuck here for 3 years. The economic situation in China is dire along with the fear of death and disease, people are even avoiding subways actively forget about airports and planes.

While I was at the BOI 3 tables were occupied with what appeared to be mainland Chinese talking about investing Millions ( or was it Billions) of baht, while the actual immigration side was full of Japanese waiting to be stamped (Not LTR), LTR window I was the only applicant the time I was there and the only one in the building without a mask...

The BOI officer asked me to come back next year to them for the reporting..

All the forms are prefilled and available to download/ print from the system- I had brought along the blanks but the staff at BOI asked me to login at the computer terminal in the office and helped me print all the prefilled forms.

Got my approval notice September 28- deadline for endorsement was November 28. Re Bank - I opened at SCB Terminal 21- Went there earlier in the week with the approval notification letters and the staff were patient enough to make enquiries with the HQ and told me to contact them in a couple of days ( even without the stamp they would have probably opened the account). Bangkok Bank would open an account if I could get a letter or a certified passport copy from my consulate even without any visa. Other banks ( UOB/TTB/K/LH) totally refused to entertain the LTR- claiming they are not part of the scheme, whatever that meant. I was also under the impression that it was all digital payments- got a kind colleague with a thai bank account to accompany me just in case.

Got my stamps today, paid in cash, took an hour at 830am, appointment set online. Pre-filled documents available to print on the system Tried opening a bank account before hand but no bank would entertain LTR visa apart from SCB. SCB opened the account right after I showed them the visa stamp. lots of holidays in November 2022 for anyone looking to get appointments.

Did they accept a credit card or debit card?

The work permit is required if you plan on working with a Thai company. Work From Thailand is for the work from anywhere professional.

I was able to download the letter from the 3 dots menu- just thinking ahead- do they accept credit card! lol.

Did they also update you on when the actual sticker could be done?

I have emailed them too- and been calling since morning to a constantly engaged line- the 60 day validity of the email acceptance makes it a bit more tight. Perhaps a visit to the center could be of help?

Did anyone manage to get this endorsed on the passport?

In the same boat- planning to take a trip to Thailand to get this sticker- wonder how long it takes to get the certificate, appointment and consequently the sticker.
