Also on TOT fibre in Phuket. For the last 2 weeks my connection has been really bad. Restarting the modem doesn't seem to help

GA 469k, GL 507k, GLX 559k. Ordered GL in blue yesterday in cm. GLX has sport wheel, fog lights, auto climate, rear defroster!, passenger airbag, and a few minor extra. All has abs and airbag.
What is the delivery time for your GL?

95 fm is not bad as far as pop/rock radio stations in Thailand go.

i'm wondering if anyone here has had any good experiences with a sign shop in Phuket. We need a sign made for the front of our office. Would like it to be 3d lettering as opposed to a lightbox but it would be great if they could also help with the design.
Thanks for any recommendations.

A spokesperson for the Phuket Marine Biology Centre said that testing is likely to confirm biologists' suspicions that the type discovered on Phuket is not the same variety as the killer box jellyfish
Yet a Swedish tourist was killed by a jellyfish sting off Krabi in April this year. Interesting....
-
These reports seem to only mention the Gulf of Thailand. Any idea about prevalence of box jellies on the Andaman sea coast?

I went to the last one a few months ago and will be attending this evening. Very much enjoyed it and hurt my sides laughing. I think the venue was fine, nothing to complain about. 1,200 baht isn't cheap but the calibre of the performers more than justifies the ticket price imho.

On the Rocks restaurant at Marina Cottage at the southern end of Karon Beach.
wasn't that impressed with the food there but more importantly its hot as hel_l. the layout of the place means it doesn't get any breeze even though its right next to the sea, which is a shame as its a lovely setting. the place next door at the karon beach resort is just as nice and directly faces the sea so u get a nice breeze.

drove a friend's 1.6 yesterday and have to say it felt a bit underpowered if u pushed it a little. but quite a smooth and quiet ride for normal driving. no idea about the 1.8

^^ i believe its a number for DeeDial promotion with AIS for cheap international calls. i haven't tried it myself but am also quite interested to hear from those who have.
Search for DeeDial on this forum and u should get some more info.

^^ my own calculations from my records which i have maintained over 2.5 years show that my Jazz vtec averages 12 km/l with 90% town driving (in Phuket Town, which is quite different to driving in BKK). On long distance trips, i average around 18 km/l.
Thats also a 50% difference.

The soi where I live is low down so i wait with my mop and bucket, if its very very bad rain, my back kitchen starts to flood. Last year it rained very bad all night and i stepped out of my bed to 4 inches of water, but its not very often so thats ok. (touch wood)
u mean water is coming in from the soi? haven't u got any sandbags?

surely the decision of getting back together with her again would depend greatly on the reasons why you two broke up in the first place?

Brits definitely still refer to cigarettes as fags. It always made me laugh when friends in the UK would say "can i bum a fag off u?"

in case anyones interested, which i doubt , O'Malleys now has a banner hanging outside written in Thai advertising for staff. I guess this means they are going to reopen?

Monthly memberships at Patong Gym (no.1 in the list above) is only 800 baht or so if u pay 3 months in advance (last time i checked), so would be worthwhile even if u only went x2 per week.
-
^^ its believable if u r doing nearly all motorway driving with little traffic. On long distance trips i get around 18 km/l in my Jazz and i tend to have a heavy right foot on open roads. i'm sure i could do better if staying under 100 km/h

Its not just an expletive, it also has a literal meaning alluded to in the OP. I think its something along the lines of "to die in a horrible and sudden way".
-
These explosions, death and injuries will perpetuate the myth that life is cheap here.
i dont think its a myth at all

Is O'Malleys closed then? I've tried to get breakfast there two Sundays now and it's been locked up. Will it reopen? I was rather keen on the 99-baht full English.
Maybe thats why it has closed? you cant make profit selling 99 baht full english breakfasts
i had the breakfast a couple of times, it wasn't a full english but it wasn't bad.
i've been passing it every day and its still not open. Earlier this week the door was open and i saw a farang and a Thai guy walking around the front pointing at stuff. Maybe they are selling it or remodelling?
-
Anybody know whats happening with O'Malleys in Phuket Town? Been closed for a month. They only renovated the entire place recently.

i drive a manual because i live in Phuket, but in Bangkok it has to be an auto box.

Asia Books on the 3rd floor of Central Festival has some. If you go up to Bangkok I can recommend Kinokuya in places like Paragon or Emporium, plenty of Dr. Seuss etc.
