I assume one is not permitted to enquire about the religion of the perpetrators?
Take a guess:
Burundi: Catholic 62.1%, Protestant 23.9% (includes Adventist 2.3% and other Protestant 21.6%)

As I said before absolutely no proof of these allegations What so ever i hear now that Paul was released after getting arrested ? The proof of that i do not know I do know that he talked to his ex on the Friday after getting arrested And She says he sounded just fine There is more to this than meet the eye His death has still not been reported Which i find strange He was certainly not hiding in Thialand everyone back here knew exactly where He was He even kept his Facebook going putting pictures and his status up Dose'nt sound like a man on the run to me The easiest way in the world to get people to not ask questions about someone dying is the attache these two words to them Paul has a teenage son back here so please could you back these claims up with facts before posting them
Please, don't shoot the messenger!
If you think, these claims are false, you should contact stickboy!

OK I was wondering that myself becauseOfficially not possible, but if using right middleman sometimes "not possible" can became possible,,,
7000 for a single
8000 for a double (before)
So u would think a tripple would be 9000
But it's 2000 more 11000
Makes you think

Sounds like it's a "special deal" surely involving middleman, where the single instead of being 1000 becomes 7000 (6000 extra for "service") and METV 5000 becomes 11000 (again 6000 extra).
Hmm...

Looks like the Embassy in Vientiane already tries to prevent scams.

Maybe but this seems like a good company to me I don't think they would be selling fake stampsSome people are getting desperate .
I bet there is a big demand for fake Lao stay permit, work permit, etc...
To much to risk they are a big busy shop

I can only repeat, what the other posters said.
It sounds like a scam.

Is one of those companies in soi post office?I've just checked the websites of the 2 big visa-run companies in Pattaya.
Seems like they haven't updated them a long time.
Still talking about single, and double entry tourist visas...
I can't remember the name of the shop it is directly opposite the post office

The purposes of my opposition to the METv is creating artificial barriers that are overly bureaucratic and make no sense. And the stated reason for the Visa is to enhance tourism which is completely illogical. We all know the real reson for this Visa .While none of this impacts me as a retired person we need to stick up for those other people who become marginalized and caused suffering due to a poorly thought out program. Just because we have ours -Thailand does not belong to us. In the past the government has encouraged people of all ages to stay long term and people have settled down with families and commitment. You just don't kick these people to the side and say who cares.
People on back to back tourist visas and doing border runs have no rights to "settle down with family and commitments."If you want to commit, get married and your home free, with immi at least. All the rorts farangs have been pulling for decades have finally come home to roost. Most of these blokes are probably on retirement visas by now.You got one thing right,Thailand does not belong to us.I rekon they have tolerated us pretty well over the decades.
There are so many problems in this I do not know where to start.
I know lots of guys married that are young. They have Thai wives and most are very happy. Most are around 35 upwards, do not have 400,000 to their names and have to do 90 day runs to stay here. Most that I do know in this boat have incomes coming from pensions, live a comfortable life here but if that changes, then there will be heartache for sure.
Then you have the gay and transgender community. I am in that boat and have so many farang friends here with gay or transgender partners (most long term relationships of over 5 years) that we are in a separate boat of our own as there is no law/visa to cover us or our relationships.
20-30 years ago they wanted us farangs here to spend money. When times were hard, they even gave out free SETV all around the world and that was not that long back! Sure, Thailand might be on a winner now with the Chinese but for a long time, it was the farang tourist dollar they were taking. Who knows what the thought was in the background when the METV was thought up but it will effect a lot of my friends.
Sure immigration is getting tough but those doing illegal activities here will not be stopped as nothing will stop someone that has bad will on there minds.....
Yes, they're don't realized yet that will effect several thousand of people (snowbirds, lgbt community, young retirees), many of them big spenders!
I say, take a deep breath, and wait.
Maybe they will loosen the requirements, when tehy realize it.

How about retired "snowbirds" ?
How can they prove employment?
I think you will find that some embassies/consulates will allow people on pensions to apply.
What about people between 50 to 60 something, who are self-funded retirees, and don't receiving government pension yet?
Maybe. Time will tell. IMO if it's provable income I wouldn't be surprised if it was accepted.
But if over 50 you can get a 1 year non 'O-A' multi entry and only need the equivalent of 800k THB or 65k THB income (pension or other).
Thanks for the clarification.

anyone ignorant enough to invest their entire existence in a country on a temporary visa is hardly worth any sympathy.
If they are married, or a parent of a Thai national they can easily obtain non-immigrant visas.
Newsflash!
There is a reason they been called "Non-Immigrant"
They don't give you the rights to stay here forever.
You have to get a new visa/extension every year
You can only stay here forever, if you gained thai citizenship, or have permanent residency.

The guy got a non-B + work permit in a school that does exist. I don't see how he could get caught.
How much was it?
It might became suspicious, if a school employs a few hundred teachers.

Actually, if Thailand would introduce a program like MM2H, i would sing up in a second.anotheruser, You don't get the point. Many, like myself would pay 100k for a Year. But for 5 Years? My plans can change. The Government can change, the stability of this country and many other variables.
100k is no money. But i wouldn't pay that for 5 Years in advance.
Try Malaysia and see how much they ask to reside there. They have set the bar very low in Thailand.
Much better value than the Elite Visa, by far.
Sure it is a great deal just make sure you have $350,000 or whatever it is they require.
Only need to deposit MYR300,000=2.5 million baht, if you under 50.

why would you expect a country to allow young people from anywhere else in the world who happen to be financially independent to just go and live there just because they feel like it? does your home country allow that?
Well, my home country even allows people to live there who enter illegally and don't have any papers on them, which is crazy. And these people aren't even financially independent, they come there to live off state benefits.
My point is, how are people on the other visa options contributing any more to the economy than these "long term tourists"? How is a +50 year old receiving 200k a month any better than a 25 year old receiving 200k a month? How is someone who is studying English for the ED visa any better? Or an English teacher without teaching skills earning 30k a month just to be able to stay in Thailand?
If the visa system was clear indeed on the type of people they want, it would be a different story, but currently it's just a big pain in the ass for people who wish to stay in Thailand unless you are old or have a job.

Re: "Lets take my situation for example, what would be the "correct visa"? / "I study for a UK distance learning course ..."
See if the UK regs allow "student" in place of "place of employment" like the DC regs do. This may depend on how many hours you enroll / semester. If not, you many need to set up a legal company there. Note, you do not need to prove that company (or even you) has "income".
Under this scheme, we will have many people using shell-companies or Distance-Learning courses combined with lines of credit to get METVs (not saying that applies to you). It is unfortunate they did not simply ask us to show money flowing into a Thai account from overseas, which would actually mean something, in this equation .
Thanks for the tips! I'm not actually from the UK but from Europe anyways looks like it could work. I will try to apply for the METV next time I return to my home country.
because your home country is governed by morons you expect thailand to follow suit? Real countries dont allow just any young guy to come in and stay as long as he likes whether you understand their reasoning or not. Live with it.
Most real countries don't have retirement visa either.

Just curious if I was to get married
How easy is it 2 stay here then?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Very easy.Just go to Savannakhet, apply for a Multiple-Entry Non-O, based on marriage.
You don't even need to show any funds!

Why do so many Westerners feel that they have some sort of birth-right to just rock up to a country and stay there as long as they want?
Thailand is fantastic,, visa wise, If you don't fit into one of the many, many categories (there is pretty much a category for everyone!), then leave as you have no right to be here.
Under 50, single, not working, unsure how long will be here.
Which visa?
hey, I'm staying here as long as I want to!! no I'm not going to work, study, volunteer or be a tourist, have any connections to the country such as a wife/husband or child, but I'm d @mn well staying as long as I want!
I have heard very similar monologues from single pensioners.

Well, if u havent got 200k then why on earth you taking 6 months holidays... No other country will allow you in, without proving you can take care of yourself...
Thousands of foreigners living here permanently, without proper funds, using Non-Imm O visas/extensions.
They should be kicked out too?
"Thousands of foreigners living here permanently, without proper funds, using Non-Imm O visas/extensions."
Evidence for that assertion can be found where ?
Not going to discuss it publicly, but they're exist.

Another quality tourist. I see lots of them on the plane ride here.
Usually hammered and getting offensive at the stewardess for not giving him more alcohol after 3 hours.
He isn't a tourist.
He was running a visa shop, fixing thai visas for fundless foreigners.
-
And posting that is the exact reason why some visas are getting harder to obtain
Not very bright are you?
I think he wants to get rid of the competition.
All of his 3 post mention Excel...
"you don't need to follow the english lesson"
You don't say, obviously you didn't...
Is this not bordering upon discussing illegal activities? 'Schools' offering bogus visas allowed to advertise here now?
All these quality 'tourists' and the brightest 'students' wanting to live in Thailand, just which part of 'entitlement' do you not understand. Just because you want something it should be so?
He/she is definitely NOT a student!

Well done Gatsby, now the whole world knows, including Immigration.
