  1. I'm middle aged and decided to do blood tests for general check up. I have experienced low libido, low energy and poor sleep for a while. I dont have the results on me at the moment but the testosterone reading at the top of the list was in normal range. But the free testosterone was not. It was in the lower range. The dr prescribed me 50mg androgel sachets. Im in 2 minds whether I should take it or not. I read great reviews on various forums from guys taking it. A friend of mine in thailand who is 20 yrs my senior is on injections and he thinks its great. But then I read the urologytimes website which implies that if one ever stops taking it, the recovery from the 'drug-induced low T may be highly symptomatic and prolonged- severe depression etc. Testicular function may never return even to its pre-treatment baseline. Also many men are unaware that TRT shuts down a mans natural production of the hormone often causing the testosterone producing cells to stop working and his testicles to soften and shrink. I feel a bit scared to commence treatment even though I just paid 10k on a box of gel sachets. Anyone have any opinions on this big decision
