I really dont think I would be able to send a loved one to live in a care home in Thailand or any other land.

One only has to look at the photo of Mr. Higgins having his Blood Pressure checked to see why.

He is there sitting with a Nurse, and has a Thai Dictionary on the Table in front of him.

The poor man has probably been desperately trying since day one of his stay at this Home to find another person to which he can relate too.

To speak to, to Joke with, to have a Game of Cards, or Cribbage, with a good Pint of Bitter in front of him. To watch Eastenders or some other favourite TV program.

Instead at the tender age of ( whatever Mr Higgins is ) he has to adapt to not having a Pork Pie or seeing his Grand Children

I really wish Mr. Higgins the very best of luck for a long, and happy retirement,  but for me this is not the kind of thing or situation I would place one of my Parents in were they still alive today.

I see a different picture than you. Mr. Higgins is sitting at an outside table in a short sleeved shirt smiling away as a cute nurse takes good care of him. He is learning a language which keeps the mind young and active. The only problem I would have is that crappy three-in-one coffee he has to drink.

In true Christian belief, the second coming of Jesus will involve each and every believer being resurrected and given eternal life in the garden of eden to which the earth shall be returned. Hence, no body, no resurrection, no eternal life in the garden.

Well that's the best reason to be cremated I've ever heard.

I disagree with almost everything you wrote, from my sofa in Chiang Mai.

It's a lovely morning, the wife and kid slept on the bedroom balcony in a tent all night.

The rabbits are happily eating together on the driveway, it's sunrise and the birds are tweeting, a chilly 12c outside.

I'm happily living in a house without much space around it, I hate gardening so it's great for me, my kids play in the street and park with all the other kids.

Back in the UK there were lots of terraced houses since Queen Victoria with even less space.

    Where I can agree,

Reality Tv is dreadful, the participants are awful people and the viewers are brain dead people.  I haven't watched any reality TV since it first kicked off in the 1990s.

Only watched stuff from torrents the past 10 years, no ads.

I also avoid watching anything that is 'western women' centered.

    Xmas,

Made mince pies, that's it, Xmas is just another day where I live.

HomePro are delivering a new bathroom door Xmas day.

My family are Buddhists, no celebration, no gifts.

Just for a moment I thought Thaibeachlover was sleeping on your couch. Anyway, you do seem to have your life in good order.

Omnivron spreads rapidly, it is in Thailand  already and will become the dominant strain very quickly - regardless if more outsiders bring it.

Similar to the UK where Omicron is now dominant - infected tourists entering the UK will have no effect on the spread of the virus.

Please reread what you have written. Infected people spread the virus whether they are locals or come from abroad.

I think they did a great job and congratulations for thinking outside of the box.

And I mean it. Because think about what would have happened if they would not have finished the job. I guess then the contractor would not get paid for building that stairway and the workers would probably be out of work and also not get paid.

And if the cable guys had to wait for next years budget then what should have happened?

What they did is win/win. Not perfect and obviously it has to be improved. But I wish more people would think out of the box like these guys.

Thinking outside of the box, I would have built the stairway on the other side of the pillar and avoided the wires altogether.

there is absolutely no way I would choose an AirBnb .......  Bangkok doesn't work on this platform.

I have heard so many horror stories about airbnb.    no way man

just rock up, and walk inn ...

I have stayed at some very nice apartments in Bangkok with Airbnb. One was particularly nice as it had a large clawfoot tub surrounded by glass windows overlooking Taksin bridge and we could just lay in the tub and drink beer and watch the traffic jams on the bridge and on the river. Sweet.

  7. One more thing.

Take a look at “sleep tracker”. I was using it to monitor my snoring since I don’t have a human monitoring me at the moment. I think it had a go to sleep part. And the alarm on it is gentle. Free for one week.

  8. Hi Chaiya. Here’s my advice:

1)turn off screens long before bedtime.

2)quit watching the news-it’s like a drug. And you can’t solve anything you see on it.

3)try box breathing. Inhale for count of 4, hold for count of 4, exhale for count of 4, hold for count of 4. When your mind wonders don’t sweat it, just start again.

5)try becoming a vegetarian-it won’t harm you and you’d be surprised at the results. I stopped eating animals a week ago and feel like a million baht.
