This panel does not know much about Thailand. Maybe on paper but I see consumption in extremes at every Thai event, weddings, funerals, Monk making etc.

Governments all around the world trying to combat pollution but here in Isaan they are burning rice fields, sugar cane and even garbage. Why even try?

Did my retirement extension yesterday. Had all the papers and copies and money in bank. I had been to the bank that morning for the bank letter and update of my bankbook. Went to IO and of course they have a new rule.
They wanted a Statement of my account for the last 6 months. After resisting this for a short time I returned to the bank and asked for a Statement printout of my account for the last 12 months. 200 baht fee. Returned to IO and received my extension. Nothing about showing bankbook in next 90 day report. No question about insurance, Non-O visa
Kind of strange but the guy just said new rule. Never know what they want. Just glad it is over for another year.

Every kid on the block knows that many, if not all, Agents are run by Immigration personnel. Nothing new here

I don't post all that much but seeing this I can't hold back. I really don't know if this guy is insane or he really believes what he is saying will promote tourism. What a laugh????

Getting more and more confusing. What will be needed after your extension and three months as proof that you still have 800,000 in bank? Will we have to go to the bank every 3 months to get a letter to confirm deposit?

No. Just when I am travelling out of my Province or going to the Bank.

What the hell is going on with Immigration? If they are trying to get rid of the corrupt visa agents they should go after the corrupt Immigration officers and agents instead of putting more burden on honest expats. Â

Motor Oils?
in Thailand Motor Discussion
Posted
I have a Toyota CHR with 1.8L petrol engine. After the last oil change at the Toyota garage I noticed that they had filled up the oil with 0W-20 Synthetic oil. I asked the mechanic why this oil and not what was in the owners manual, which I think was 5W-30. He said the 0-20 syn was what was recommended. I just left it at that because it was syn oil and I don't know if this was correct. What do you think?
