Thai parliamentary roadblock paves way for return of outgoing coalition govt
d2b2 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Outrageously pathetic! No other outcome could be further from the intention of the voters. I do hope the electorate will not allow this to pass. -
There is about as much chance of this old toad waddling away from the trough as there is seeing him in the gym. without his position he has only his ill gotten watch collection to amuse himself and make him feel relevant

Thailand’s household-debt storm taking deadly toll on guarantors
d2b2 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That problem is not exclusive to Thailand. A big part of the problem is a failure of the education system to provide any meaningful financial or ethics education. maybe the lottery can fix everything -
This is the reason the “Constitutional Court” was created. To undertake the dirty work the Junta wants to be seen as legitimate. Sad day for Thailand happy day for corruption and juntas.

Thailand to reduce visa approval time for Chinese tourists
d2b2 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I guess Thailand has given up on last year’s policy of “quality tourists” over quantity. I know nothing last for ever, but public policy in Thailand seems to oscillate more than a fan -

But wait… this can’t be true. Prayut promised he was going to rid Thailand of corrupt officials. That is the reason he stated when he staged a coup and overthrew a democratically elected government. I think he also said something about not wanting the prime minister’s job and bringing happiness to the people. There must be a misunderstanding here.

Bill Heinecke: "Crazy to give vaccines to tourists"
d2b2 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Giant eyerolls, every time Bill Heinecke feels the need to share his useless greedy opinions. He seems to think the Thai government and the residents care about what he has to say. That is laughable. -
I thought one of the coup czar’s main goals was to restore confidence in the government by ridding it of corruption. Tick tock tick tock, eight + long years later and here we are. …as that goes, it seems not much at all has been accomplished in the past 8 years.

Thai public health minister CANCELS Covid vaccine rules
d2b2 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand is being governed by some old military leaders and inept political hacks who stick a finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing at the moment, then reverse direction at the slightest change. most governments are dysfunctional to some degree, but Thailand is the “hub” of governmental dysfunction. -
