  1. Thanks all, think I will organize flights / hotel & carry the cash & photos for VoA
  2. Always fancied a visit to see the place but never managed so far. Is anyone up to date on current Laos visa rules for a UK passport holder and a Thai passport holder to fly up for a weekend visit? We are both fully vax'd so got that bit covered but I am unsure between getting an e-visa or visa on arrival & pros & cons of each.
  3. Following the instructions on the GOV.UK website I have submitted 4 e-mails in the last month to the [email protected] requesting an appointment but have received no response even to advise that the dates I am requesting are not available. Has there been a change to the process so that the GOV.UK website is not displaying the correct information? Is there a VFS contact number specifically dealing with UK passport renewals as the number I have found seems to only offer options for non UK personnel applying for UK visas?
  4. Dr. Jack, thanks but I will only need one more extension as I will be back in UK for summer to visit family so will arrange a non O from the London embassy while there ubonjoe, thanks for confirming the correct office to submit the application - I will go online to see what appointments are available as I still have validity on my first extension up to 17th May
  5. Thanks for the previous advice on arriving visa exempt for 30 days then obtaining a 30 day extension - having all the required paperwork & copies completed before arrival meant the whole process went smoothly & was actually quite an interesting experience. I now plan to follow the rest of the advice & apply for a 60 day extension to visit my wife but I have a another question. I had a look thru' the immigration website but did not find the answer so can anyone advise is this 60 day extension still classed a short term extension so I apply at the new Laksi Plaza office or do I need to apply at Changwattana?
  6. Thanks Dr. Jack, I have found directions online to the location in Nonthaburi & MTT seem to allow to book an appointment online so will proceed with making arrangements.
  7. I have been getting the documents ready & checking office locations online. As I am in Bangkok can I go to any of the immigration offices at Chaengwattana, Chamchuri Square or Muang Thong Thani? If any of these are allowed are is any better than the others as I found a link to book an appointment at Muang Thong Thani but not the others so far. I am guessing a pre booked appointment would be good but that office appears to be the furthest to travel to.
  8. Thank you Aussiexpat
  9. Thank you for the speedy response Dr. Jack. Could I do the 30 day extension then the 60 day extension to visit wife as I see that Thai authorities looking to class Covid as endemic so I would guess that would mean no Covid extensions
  10. I normally visit my Thai wife using either a 90 day spouse visa or a visa exempt 30 days as a UK passport holder. This visit I entered visa exempt & have 14 days validity remaining but a change in circumstances means that I can now stay longer, potentially until approx. 07th July. Never had to extend an entry previously so would appreciate advice on what my options are & what sort of paperwork I would need to prepare? Thanks
