That is great news. Thanks for the help. Is there a way of not losing money (or not as much money) on my flight back to the UK. I am guessing I would have to change it to a specific date every time I made the change to my visa or could I try to put the flight on hold? It is with Thai Airways and is an economy saver ticket I think.

Great. Thanks very much. Does that mean I could do something similar to the following: For example: Arrive on 9th Dec - extend on 27th Dec for 30 days - extend for 60 days on 23rd Jan - go home before the 60 day expiry ends? I am guessing I could use onewayfly to get a reservation as well.

Thanks. Presumably this is relatively easy to obtain. I think I have done it before at Chaeng Watthana. I can't go beyond 60 days though can I? That would involve leaving Thailand and coming back in again.

I am due in Thailand on Thai Airways on the 9th Dec (got all my documents sorted) on a tourist visa from UK (30 day visa on arrival). I am due to leave Thailand on the 31st Dec. If I am in Thailand and things change in the UK and they introduce quarantine, am I am able to change my flight (I think there is a fee for a change) and would I be able to extend my Thai visa, if so how long for? I will have my work laptop so I will be able to work in Thailand for a bit - I may as well wait it out and hope quarantine is removed (if it happens). If all flights are cancelled then I guess there isn't much I can do with regards to my visa. What do you think? I have already spoken to my insurance broker and he said insurance will be extended easily enough.

I am fully vaccinated - so I will take my certificate as well. I just don't want to be in a situation when I am at the airport and I have a mad dash around trying to find a document.

I have got my Thai Pass sorted. I am flying from the UK, with a tourist visa via Thai Airways for a few weeks. I have my RT-PCR test booked. Apart from my Thai pass, PCR certificate, passport and ticket. What else do I need to show/take? I will print everything out - hotel booking, insurance, etc just in case

I asked some of the hotels where I am thinking of staying about the situation if I don't test positive but someone near me does (do you know how that is calculated by the way?) and they said that: This will be considered case by case. And will be considered by the government staff and doctor. It will be hotel quarantine It looks like hotel quarantine (paid for by the occupant and not through insurance) then and how long for I am not sure.

Thanks Sheryl. That is the impression I am getting. Would it be hotel quarantine though if you are negative and someone near you tests positive or would it be straight to the hospital despite being negative?

I am a UK citizen coming to Thailand for 3 weeks. Do you know any insurance companies that you use to meet the entry requirements? I need it to cover me for if I test positive and have to go to hospital whether I am symptomatic or non-symptomatic. I have no intention of going anywhere on holiday in Thailand. I will just be in Bangkok but returning to UK via a flight that stops briefly at Phuket. I think I should be ok.

I have booked my flight - direct from London to Bangkok with Thai Airways returning with Thai Airways via Phuket (same flight). I just read this on the Embassy website: [Currently, domestic transit flights are still not allowed except the designated “seal route” flight to Samui. Therefore, it is recommended to book an international route to enter your final destination in Thailand.] Am I ok? Has anyone else gone though the other steps? Insurance, PCR test, hotel? Any advice will be appreciated.
