Anyway, we have resolved the situation to the benefit of everyone, so no problem.  Thank you to anyone who contributed sensibly, up yours to the others.

Wow. That's super duper fast even for Thailand.

Did your gf make a FB announcement that she is now manager of  a hiso fantasy bar?

It might weird her out if I give her cash. She might take it the wrong way.

Have you ever been to Thailand?

Anyhoo, unless you are seeing a really poor girl, I'd strongly advise against the brand you're thinking of giving. These products can be bought in Thailand at Big C or any pharmacy chain. You're really going to look....well....cheap.

My wife asks me for Olay when I go back to Canada, but only because they only sell a scented version in Thailand. Try something like that...something they can't get here.

Good looking guy, shame about the 'lip smacking' speech impediment.

Not many people can tolerate the company of peeps with speech impediments.

Good looking, but he still can't score lookers

Western women, even though they disparage Thai women as money grabbers, will first look at how much money a guy has before dating him. Western women are just better able to assess a man's worth than a Thai woman. It is a case of the kettle calling the pot black.

I have always dated Western women that supported me.I'm continuing this tradition in Thailand.

    Believe what you will.

It's irrelevant to me, I got a good feel of who she is and if she is a liar.

She would never say a bad word about me, always says, if you ever leave me, I will follow you, she knows when she's on a good thing 555

    Can you support me?

    Wow, seriously?? Normal?

You are married is that the excuse your wife is using?

Not my experience at all in fact the over 40 year olds are at the top of my list.

Experience counts and if a man knows what they he is doing, the older gals can put the 20 year olds to shame.

I didn't say every 40 year old, stud. Certainly there are many bored "massage therapists" over 40 looking for sex on your hometown of Pattaya.

    Got any tinder profiles?

No I have not...please feel free to expand and add value to the thread.

I will expand on that rather stupid comment.

Yes, Thai university women can be promiscuous, but then again it is a generalization on his part.... and some of these University women are after sponsors.

There is also a huge difference between a 40 year old woman and a 20 year old woman. It is absolutely, perfectly normal for an "older" Thai woman to be disinterested in sex.

I was dating a Thai university student back in Canada. She was like an energizer bunny and she would refuse nothing. She was also into JAV. She did have a lot of free time and was bored out of her mind. Do I expect the same from my wife who has a career and leaves home at 5am? If I did, I think I would be a real pig.

You can go right now on Tinder and surf hundreds of profiles of Bangkok Uni girls. You will get a lot of replies. This, however, has nothing to do with your situation. You are dealing with a different kind of woman.

  8. OP, take a few seconds to read my reply. I'm totally inexperienced and a complete loser, but still....

First of all, I am perhaps wrongfully assuming that most folks here replying to you are with leg spreaders from Pattaya, so you should naturally disregard their advice. Lo and behold, some Thai women in their 40s are not into sex especially if they are career women as you say and don't depend on farang provider. Let's also be perfectly honest....sex with the same person gets boring. I have been in quite a few long term relationships and after a few months the dirty stuff literally nosedives....especially once you get older. Variety is the spice of life. The only problem is....do you want to settle with Thai women of dubious character, or do you want a reliable woman in your life?

I am also taking a wild guess that her behavior is also a message to you that she doesn't need you and can survive just fine on her own. Those kind of women in Thailand are absolute ballz busters and a diamond in the rough.

Personally, I think you should stick with this lady. Thai women are quite annoying with their silence, but once you spend enough time together you'll be able to read them. Perhaps she's simply not being an idiot by allowing herself to be seen with someone who is not truly committed to a relationship. My wife is also traditional and a career woman. I can tell you this....she never met any of her sisters boyfriends simply because the boyfriends weren't serious. I mean none....ever.

I personally think this girl might be a great catch, but you gotta admit....stalking is a bit creepish.

    Hi Franck,

my profile/thinking/past situation in France/age etc, is pretty similar to yours. I retired and moved permanently in Thailand 4 years Ago. I gonna give you my perspective. But first, be aware that many comments on this site are biased.

To start with, obtaining a retirement visa in Thailand is easy and straightforward, and it would be better to get it in France, before your move. This would be a 1 year visa, renewable in Thailand every year without trouble, providing you can prove sufficient retirement income and/or savings. Once in Thailand, you will have to re-confirm the address of the place you are staying in every 90 days, this is a little annoyance but achieved within an hour at the local immigration, and can also apply online. That is it for the administration ! Really nothing compared to France....

Anyway, I am living in Chiang Mai with a lovely girl 20 years younger than me (I am 59) for more than 3 years now. I am much happier here and going back to France is totally out of my mind.

I am against the mariage institution, but obviously, and as in any long time relationship, it is necessary to build in some kind of security in a couple. We do not know what can happen tomorrow, therefore I bought a decent house for my girlfriend and made it clear to my family that whatever I own in Thailand (money in thai bank, car, motorbike etc) will be the property of my partner should I die. I also support her family, and pay the University for her 2 daughters. All of this is affordable in this country. For a very decent life here, I would say you need about 2000 euros per month.

Happiness is round the corner, but please ignore the comments of 60 years old chaps living in Pattaya, short timing 20 years old beauties...

This comment surely has to be a joke. Yes, come to Thailand, find a younger woman and support all her family.

What a way to feel loved and then make a comment about guys living in Pattaya.

    Weird.

Sure there are you just need to look at international companies and brands not the Thai Chinese owned mickey mouse businesses that would save 1 satang on toilet paper if they could.

You talk a lot of crap in your posts buddy. You come sounding like so important with throwing numbers that make no sense whatsoever. Let's hear some of the names of these companies that pay so much according to you. My wife works for Siemens....you know....the BTS division. The company doesn't get more international and important than this. Your numbers are way out of line.

Name of these companies that like throwing money away please.

It's not extortion. If Canada adopts the livable, fair pay but no tipping system, your restaurant bill will go up instantly by about the same percentage.

Unlike US, Canada does pay a living wage. Waiters get a minimum wage which is $15 an hour and expect 20% tip nowadays. The same wage Wal-Mart and McDonald's employees get. I understand waiters in US restaurants get paid much less, hence the tipping culture.
