Just wear it if possible,
Clearly that was the plan but now we can't unless we wait years.
Google has not really helped me find the information that I need and I'm not just going to risk it and see what happens.
-
I realize these risks but that does not answer my question. I'd like to know the tax rate.

My wife had a ring repaired in the USA on our last visit and it was not done in time to bring back. We now do not have plans to visit the USDA like we thought we would.
How much will it cost to import the ring into Thailand? It is made of gold and diamonds. It will be insured for it's value as well.
Thanks.

"How much for short time?"
It was too much, cheaper just to marry her

@TheCruncher You miss understand my point about the cost of sending money from one place to the other. You question of how much will it cost to turn fiat into bitcoin and then back to fiat is not what I'm talking about. Good money chases out bad. People will sooner or later not use fiat because crypto is better. Once you move from fiat into crypto you are set.
We are in the early stages and it is true you can not buy everything you need with crypto however there is a lot you can. Including brand new jeeps and lambos. There absolutely is place for crypto but sure, it is not at a 7-11 or your local bar (right now).
I was saying by it to HODL if you have some extra money to invest. I'm not saying you should buy it just to send fiat from Europe to Thailand (unless it is money you can't get into the banking system).
I like cash, I like gold. I like land, and I like crypto. I have and use them all but for different things.

The price is moving very positive recently
It could easily reach a new level
They're seems to be a lot of trade happening in China and stateside too...
Reading the bitcointalk and reddit subforum a lot of people are exited....
China is cracking down on the traditional ways to move money outside of China. They use "underground banks" and voucher cards. Government is cracking down on that, but since Bitcoin is legal in China (and they just approved the last of 3 major exchanges to take fiat wires) people are flocking to Bitcoin.
So since it is legal and semi supported by China people are buying up BTC in China at like $50 more than what it is being sold for in the USA. They are taking a pretty large cut here but they get the money outside of China. The currency and stock market of China is looking sort of crazy so people want out. Bitcoin is just perfect for this.
We could be over $1000 with no effort if this keeps going for a few weeks. Then again, they could stop buying and back down to $200. Anyway I'm not selling mine until we hit $5,000 or $0

49 Euro for any transaction seems high to me but that is better. I bet it would still cost someone 49 Euro to send 49 Euro.
Bitcoin is the first blockchain and it has first move adoption. It also is decentralized and has massive massive hashing power. This is what makes it safe and trustless. I'm not saying bitcoin is going to be a good investment but if you have a few buck to play with it not bad to have in your high risk high reward section of your portfolio. If money is tight, I'd not risk it. Bitcoin could die tomorrow.
Bitcoin is as legal as gold is in China. It is traded more in China than anywhere else. It had a billion USD trading day a few days ago. I know that is nothing on forex but not bad for some open source code.

I'm not really sure where you are getting your information. I was there at the time. When the guy got caught BTC dropped like $50 from $120. This was Sept/Oct 2013
Bitcoin did not go up to $1200 until after this starting in Nov 2013.
If anything one could say because he was caught and people saw it was dumb to use it for crime it went way up. However I do not think that was the case. Mt. Gox and their troubles had more to do with it than silk road.
"So when that myth was cleared, many lost their interest in Bitcoin." You have it exactly backwards.
You pay 10% fee to send fiat? Wow! For bitcoin you pay $.03 for any amount. $.01 to $100,000,000.
Bitcoin is speculative, no doubt about it. It is high risk high reward. If you are able and have some extra wealth might be worth it. If you can't afford to lose everything invested into BTC stay away.
But BTC was at 50 cents 5 years ago. Many people have made a lot of money and I do not see why this will stop. Look at the current cover of the economist just to see bitcoin is not dead. They claim it will change the world. The economist is not exactly a light weight.
Why bitcoin will be the future? Because it removes the need for trust. Right now you need to trust the governments and the banks that they do not take your fiat or demand 25% fee. Look at Cyprus, they raided the accounts. Can't do that with bitcoin.
Also speed. You can send millions of dollars of wealth in seconds with bitcoin to anywhere. Can you do this with fiat? China has a lot of money and a lot of capital controls. What can the Chinese govt do to stop people from sending money over seas using bitcoin? nothing at all.
Bitcoin(blockchain) might not be for you personally but it absolutely is the way things will be done in 20 years world wide.

You cannot get a multiple entry non-o visa for being 50 or over in Savannakhet. They do not do them.
Going to hijack this thread as it has been answered.
What about for guys with a wife? Everything has stayed the same? Thx

Yeah the US got many things from silk road. They are selling off the high end cars, and bitcoins. But are they selling off the drugs? Nope.
Drug illegal, bitcoins legal.
Using bitcoin for crime in the USA is just silly. It is all traceable. I don't wish that guy to have life in jail in the USA but he had to know what risk he was taking. He could have gone anywhere. $100,000,000 can buy a lot of protection in some nations.
-
Bitcoin will not be banned. Guess who is having a sale of bitcoins on the 5th? Us Government! It is legal and regulated.
The talk about using bitcoin for crime is just silly. Sure it can be used in crime but why would anyone use a traceable system? 2 DEA agents are in jail right now for stealing bitcoin from drug dealers. If the DEA just kept stealing cash and drugs like normal then they would not be in jail. Bitcoin is very bad for most crimes.

Yeah, I have to admit I'm partly going for the looks. I'm never going to be able to use the full potential of that bike.
-
That is great news. I have been waiting for about 3 years on a 899 and I can wait a bit longer:)
-
I'm pretty sure this will replace the way visa and mastercard work now. it will even kill of swift and bank wires.
bitcoin blockchain tech is just so fast, and safe. records are stored and can be audited. it is not hackable.
so much potential with the blockchain even if bitcoin dies, this is the future.

Yeah, he is a site to help see how volatile it is and how far it can go up.
Also it is on the cover of the economist right now saying it will change the world.
Crazy.

Bitcoin is an option if you want to avoid banks.

how is it that some "folk" at the imigration office in Hua Hinare capable of coming up with this ruling and other parts of Thailand not.
Seems Chiang Rai was before Hua Hin.
-
Chiang Rai here.
I was at immigration last week and I was told I could not leave until my wife registered my address at a different office. I have been here 11 years married, have kids and my wife owns her house.
I asked what would happen if my wife did not comply and I was told I would be taken to jail as I would not be correctly registered. I had never heard of this and thought she was just in a bad mood because of the 10 Chinese that happened to be in front of me so I called my wife and she was able to do it very quickly.
However she was told that if I went anywhere else in Thailand I needed to go to the office first to tell them. I'm going to go back tomorrow and talk to them about this to see what I really need to do.
Also there was an American lady there who could not get anything done in the Chiang Rai office because the computer said she was registered in Chiang Mai. She was told she needed to go to Chiang Mai Immigration. However she claims she was now staying in Chiang Rai. I have no idea how that turned out.
Anyway this is not just a Hua Hin thing.
Oh I also have a yellow house book and was willing to show this, however the lady did not care and did not want to see it.
I'm just guessing someone from above is pushing for all the rules on the books to be followed just to cover their butts if something goes wrong. Once I complied with everything the lady went from super bitch to the normal very friendly Thai person Thais are known around the world to be. I really think she is being forced to do this. I doubt however the police would have really taken me to jail, as far as I can tell only the house owner, my wife can get fined. But I was not going to push it, I don't care. I have no problem with the Thai Government knowing where I live since they know already!
Edit: Just asked my wife about this again. She also said she had to pay 800 Baht. She also says I need to tell the office when I leave and when I come back. This seems to be on me, not her. Anyway I'm going to the office tomorrow and will ask exactly what I need to do. I travel often so this could really be a pain in the ass.

Okay, that is sooner than I expected to be honest.
I did not know about the tax being the same, that is interesting.
Any idea on what the tax will be on the 1299? I wonder if it will drop enough to make it worth while over the 959.
-
Indian place! Great. Can anyone help me out on finding this place? I searched google but only found their facebook page, and since I do not have facebook I can't see it.
Also on google maps I can't find a tesco near a "den ha".
Thanks:)
-
Also and word on the tax rate for 2016? Thx
-
Any reasonable guess as to when the 959 will be for sale here in Thailand?
-
The amount isn't really relevant.
Having less than a gram just means that is all he had left when the cops busted him.
He could, for all we know, have had a kilo before peddling this filth.
Or 100,000,000 Kilos!

And if they had been in gold for the last several years, how would they have done?
Bought in gold in a big way in 2000. I'm pretty happy with 400% gain in 15 years. With the money printing going on I don't see this stopping. Then again I don't see stocks going down much either, once every one prints prints prints.
