The Chinese government is very well known to use young, beautiful women as spies. Watch your Ps and Qs.

I find it easier and cheaper to sit in an air conditioned hotel room and fire up a pickup app and get home delivery, but i understand the bar and gogo scene has it's place and sad to hear its on the decline

Thailand has always been a "good to come, good to leave place" for me
Dont burn bridges and keep options open

Several reasons, some examples
-Its fun and you feel free
-No fumbling around with a helmet all the time
-It riles up expats, like the Waffen SS helmets

Ive seen what looked like civilians carrying M16s while riding their mopeds up near the border Maeai/Maesai area
I overtook as politely as i could

Thai kids' motorcycle licenses are their birth certificates
Whats with all the westernised ideas and thinking on here, Thailand wouldnt be Thailand if they followed the way of western thinking, rules and regulations

While ive given a tuk tuk 500baht for a 150baht trip and said maipenrai when he reached for change, i did that more for the fact i had no use for the change as i was flying back home and as a nice surprise for the driver
If someone looks like they are expecting a tip or it is expected in general or i am not in the mood then i dont tip

The only farang? Yeah, I'm one of two farang living in a 35 km long valley in rural Lamphun province, so pretty much.
I lived at an ex GF's house just off hwy 1033, 5 minutes past the railway for a few weeks, burnt through about 30GB of mobile data
Didnt realise WW2 POWs were involved in the railway around there

Drop the oil and water and thrash it
If it's a manual, rev 3rd gear to redline on the highway then shift it into 2nd gear and dump the clutch, daughter cant drive the car if all the valve stems are bent

I personally like dark skinned Thai girls, to me they are natural, I think a Thai girl who has whitened her skin looks like Coco the clown, to my eyes they look ridiculous to the point of being ugly. In the UK girls spend thousands of pounds to get a tan, 100,000 to 300,000 baht. to get what a Thai girl is trying to lose.
Women..

Year right. I had a Thai baht bus driver wander over to me and say to the effect "Chinese no good, dont spend any money" a few years ago

Fixed cameras? No idea, i took the plate off my bike to avoid such hassles

A lot more aware than that. I have seen many Thais who won't move till well after a light has turned green as it is well known that many Thais will run the red. Certainly nothing new. Having said that you put countdowns on traffic lights in Australia like you do in Thailand and the chaos would be just as great. Both from those trying to run the red and jump the green.
I was next to a couple of tourists on rental dirt bikes at a countdown light, they had their eyes glued to it and took off as soon as it went green.
They were lucky, the 5 or 6 cars and a bus running the red saw them and breaked

They were very concerned that I would get in the car and drive down 600 km to find a spot.
I had them pleading with me not to go when i said i was doing a road trip Chiangmai to Mukdahan, did the trip in 1 day
I guess for them it was like saying i was going to drive from Singapore to Scotland

I dont even know if my bike has ever had tax paid on it, certainly dosnt have a tax disk anywhere. The cops usually take my 200baht for no helmet, smile and talk about the bike abit before waving me on

Meh, thailand wouldnt be thailand if it turned into falangland with it's rigid thinking and rules
