Cone on one day, Yes arrest and fine him for his transgressions but overstay one day just taking him to the airport and make him pay his 500baht and leave.
Try your luck... if you are found overstaying by immigration officers "in the wild" before you "surrender" at airport, even for one day or less, they drop you at the immigration prison (which has the same number of stars as the central prison: sleep on the floor in overcrowded hot cell with barely enough room to extend legs and with toilets in the corner, crappy bone soup for meal), waiting for a judgment, then if you cannot pay the fine and buy a very expensive plane ticket at the prison "travel agency", you stay here... (the good side is that you do not need visa anymore) ...

I bet a windy small island is a better choice... Pollution comes and go... you can visualize current PM2.5 and PM1.0 levels here https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/particulates/surface/level/overlay=pm2.5/orthographic=-263.52,12.95,3000/loc=100.515,13.582

Yeah look into you shoes, you could find a centipede too.
In Thailand you need to snake-proof and rodent-proof your house (snakes are looking for rodents): fill or seal any opening bigger than 0.5cm: holes in the garden, gaps and holes in the walls, around the basement, doors and plumbering, down your fence, etc (Use spray foam, and plastic mesh or steel mesh). Keep the grass short, remove piles of wood or junk and open containers where they could hide. Cut the bushes or branches that are touching or going over the wall of your garden from outside.
Most snakes will go away before you see them, only vipers are standing still like "landmines".
Most accidents happens when people try to kill or to catch a snake. If you know it's harmless just sweep it with a long broom, else safely sprinkle them with water to force them to flee. -
it looks just like a plane in flight over the jungle...

You will also need to notify your Thai bank of your new passport number. I almost got caught out by not doing this following my last passport renewal, when I attempted to obtain a new passbook which proved impossible until my new passport number had been safely logged in the bank's systems.
Thanks better I don't forget to go there with my old passport... also you have the passport number on your thai driver's license. here again if you can show the previous one it saves you a trip to the police station or the transports office.

You need to transfer your current non immigrant visa into your new passport at the immigration office for a fee. Should be sufficient, ask the immigration officer.

The point was that money talks with these guys. If she'd offered the driver 200 baht to stick to the speed limit, he would have taken it. Problem solved.
only for 10 minutes (based on a true story...)

Here is a better option : Do not ride with these whackos, take a full size bus. So what if you have to wait an extra hour.
Happens in most big buses too, the airport's buses are more controlled though.

Maybe the bus driver would have slowed down if he had payed for it, but only for a few minutes... I agree the only solution is to get out and find something else...

Welcome on planet Thailand where expressing disagreement and anger only make things worse.
Losing temper is losing face and makes thai witnesses despise you, even if you are right...
Forcing somebody else to lose his temper (his face) is not well seen neither and is to be avoided by all means (things left unsaid, lies, wai-smile-maipenrai).
It can easily get you kicked or killed before you start worrying about it: a thai national will usually not stay much in jail for killing somebody in such rightful situation if he is able to wai, apologize and pay.

I was with somebody I know, speeding on the national road under a stormy rain with absolutely no visibility and a few cm water on the road (with my wife and children in the car) and I had the same mocking reply: "You fear ?... :-D" .. He did not slow down at all, proud of his douchebag's indisputable and invincible amulets and tatoos, good karma and courageous driver's skills.
Like my wife says: "what can do ?"Maybe one day they will compute time vehicles go from point 1 to point 2 using cameras, GPS and computers and send fines automatically, with jail time for extreme speeds or in case of non-payment like in Switzerland. ?
Until then, good luck crap...

Looking at people and governments all over the world, who still believe in any "better governing policy" fairy tale anyway ?.. The tip of the iceberg is irrelevant. Human nature is screwed ?
-
They are not saying tourists are to blame, they only mean that garbage "must not be seen in tourist spots anymore", because it is threatening the tourism industry... They just need to drop and burn it a few dozen of kilometers farther eg on military bases where tourists cannot see it.

Big companies change all their computers every few years because they have the budget for it and they need to use it .
You can buy those refurbished computer at Pantip plaza in shops where they have piles of those (HP, Dell, Lenovo ...).
They are professional series and will last much longer than the consumer ones, for a fraction of the price.
I would recommend minimum pocessor i5 2.4Ghz + 8Gb RAM + SSD (ideally SATA6Gb/s, check also the computer SATA interface type) -
He must know better than the farang that it's dangerous... but who cares here before something happens.. if something bad happens it's your karma.
If the driver was not a farang, would he make a fuss ?

The video is too short to see what really happened (car driver indicating left or not) but the motorcyclist is in fault according to sections 44 and 45 of the thai Land Traffic Act http://thailaws.com/law/t_laws/tlaw0140_5.pdf for overtaking without signaling himself, and for overtaking from the left side on the same lane.. also he must pay 2000 bht to the police for those infractions + not wearing an helmet... maybe 500 more if his brakes were unusable anyway.
-
Maybe he was unable to (kick)start his motosai normally so he started to kick the stupid guy instead , and the fight escalated because the swiss guy is a total newcomer unaware of the thai etiquette.
And given all the traffic on the nearby road, was it really necessary anyway ?..
-
Look the video where the old jerk takes a machete "by fear" before going "talking" to the thai, before trying to run over him with his car....
And still he denies and ignores the thai guy ?... He totally deserved this punch, imagine the adrenalin ... -
After building the house it is a little too late to install a waterproof mat under the soil and the walls back into the walls , but there's still a few other options, not as efficient.

Some people say that in Thailand nothing good happends outside after midnight..

I downloaded the whole Thailand maps from Google Maps on my phone and use GPS offline with OruxMaps only to show my actual location. Only 2 times I was stuck on a dead end, like the day I was following a path for cows in the mangrove, becoming underwater before the embankment of the railway line

Trying to save elephants is going to be as successful than trying to change humans.
Beside this the "poor elephants" are extremely dangerous creatures, killing each year more people than sharks...
...almost always for the same reason than sharks: the good old stupidity that leads humans to venture into their territory blinded by beliefs
(Huh I could be myself in the news :-) )
That said I'm sorry for this good man.

Just say "mai ao khap", continue walking... smile and dont stop walking or smiling even if they grab your arm or something else...
In Thailand, just dont get upset...
Here YOU lose face when you get upset, even for good reasons... and if you force somebody to lose face (getting upset because of your behaviour), (s)he will probably not lose face (get upset) halfway and you risk your life... something everybody should be fully aware of before landing in LOS.
Adding to this dishinibition due to drugs and alcohol does'nt improve things.
This guy should be happy being still alive with two working eyes..
...
Once they were two lady boys on Sukhumvit behind a saphan and the one trying to stop me hard did put his hand on my banana and in my empty pocket... unsuccessfuly cause my money was out of reach in the cargo pocket and I did'nt left him (them) enough time to try more :-)

Stop spreading nonsense, always use vinegar, even for man-o-war jellyfish !!
Scientific paper (2017): https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6651/9/5/149
Article below from: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/may/09/vinegar-best-antidote-jellyfish-stings-urine-lemon-juice-make-worse-study
What should you do if a jellyfish stings you? Scientists have found that applying vinegar is the best solution, and that popular remedies including urine, lemon juice, and shaving foam could make the situation worse.
A recent study in Toxins, which investigated the efficacy of various remedies for stings from the Portuguese man o’ war (Physalia physalis) concludes that rinsing with vinegar before applying heat is the most effective treatment. The commonly recommended treatment of seawater and ice was found to cause more harm than good.
Dr Tom Doyle, a biologist at NUI Galway and co-author of the paper, conducted research on both the Atlantic and Pacific man o’ war. He said the findings represented a complete U-turn.
“For me it was certainly surprising as we have been recommending seawater and ice for the last 10 years,” he said. “But that’s the nature of science; we have to hold up our hands and say we were wrong. We went back to basics and tested different methods. There’s no doubt about our findings. We are absolutely 100% certain that vinegar does the trick.”
The scientists tested various solutions on sheep and human blood cells suspended in agar. The method of scraping away tentacles was found to increase pressure on the affected area, causing the stinging capsules to fire more venom into the victim. However, applying vinegar was shown to prevent further venom release, allowing the tentacles to be safely removed. Immersing the area in 45C water or applying a heatpack resulted in fewer red blood cells being killed.
In contrast, rinsing with seawater was found to worsen stings by spreading venom capsules further, while cold packs caused them to fire more venom. The infamous urine theory – popularised by an episode of Friends – was also found to aggravate stings. Baking soda, shaving cream, soap, lemon juice, alcohol and cola yielded similar results.
Although vinegar is used for many other jellyfish stings, the man o’ war has long been considered an exception, with many guidelines warning against its use. While it’s true that the man o’ war is different – they are technically a siphonophore and not a jellyfish – the scientists behind this research are now arguing that all stings be treated equally.
Biologist and jellyfish expert Dr Lisa Gershwin agrees that treatment with vinegar works, but expressed concern about the hot water recommendation.
“Hot water does take away the pain but this is a neurological process; it has nothing to do with denaturing the venom,” she said. “Fresh water activates discharge and by applying heat, you are dilating the capillaries and allowing venom to go further into the body.”
The study was prompted by an influx of man o’ war on European coasts last summer and built upon the findings of a study on box jellyfish conducted by the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. The researchers will now turn their attention to the lion’s mane jellyfish to determine if the same conclusions apply.
