I followed this at the time religiously . These two guys never did it….100% sure of that and got put down only because they had to protect the mafia on that Island. The whole thing stinks , did then back in those days , and still it goes on. There not getting off in any way or form. It would show up authorities in Thailand too much. Very sad . But it won’t be the last time something like this is corrupted to suit.

Given those figures , surely there not correct. That’s around average of 150 passengers per flight . The bigger planes can carry around 600 . Another case of Thai maths not being a strong point . Everytime I’ve been on a plane into or out of Suvarnabhumi there pretty much full.
And don’t think those increases are going to stop anyone traveling.

France has recovered nicely and the summer Olympics will undoubtedly put them over the top. western Europe will be back too and probably exceed expectations this year despite economic uncertainties. I believe most people if they have some financial means will find a way to travel. The pandemic really put life in perspective for many of us.
Those comments are true but reality is it’s now £1200 return plus to fly to Thailand as against £700 tops a year or so and £450 ish pre Covid. Massive rises in most peoples gas/electric/ food etc and big increases across the board. The days are gone but there again never believed TAT forecasts on numbers . It’s too expensive taking in everything involved in holiday in Thailand for most.

Sadly no they don’t. Rural areas yes but tourist places not so. The old money ‘No 1’ rational comes to the fore .

Have not been back to the UK since 2019, whats the average cost of a ticket these days?
Two trips recently , one in April and one in Nov/Dec . Best part of 39,000 baht each return. I have another flight before I leave from UK so in all its 52,000 Baht return. That’s me now . 25 years going to Thailand and with airfare and car hire it’s got to much. Had a good run.

25 years have been coming to Thailand and living/staying in and around Chiangmai and Lamphun. Every year they claim it’s going to be sorted and every year without fail they fail miserably . Talk is cheap and now word is out in the UK that avoid Chiangmai at this time of year particularly . Amazing Thailand …..

Up where I’ve stayed for years , Lamphun , there’s a disco/nightclub I used to go to with friends called Rodeo . And around Lamphun with all the factories there are lots of Tom’s . They would come in Rodeo late on with some incredibly stunning girls in tow. Never could understand it as had these usual short haired very masculine looking and dressed the part Tom’s with drop dead gorgeous babes. Mind blowing in more ways than one .

Could the purple urine be a reporters mistake and what actually they mean they gave there piss samples which were tested and the samples turned purple to indicate substance abuse. Just a thought .

To be fair came into Suvarnabhumi on the 14 November to be faced with the worst queues I had ever seen over the25 years coming here. Groaned and felt it was going to take ages. But looking around all the booths were in use and in around 15 mins was through despite being on of the last in the main large queue. No complaints and also the baggage arrived very quickly with no wait in baggage hall. Well done Thai immigration .

I haven’t and have no wish too. Man’s inhumanity to man. !!
It’s a sick twisted world we live in and am sure there’s umpteen other stories equally as violent and sick. Poor guy and family. Can’t imagine what he must have gone through till it ended.- 7

Sadly there’s so much more than a shooting wrong with Thailand. They don’t get that people get fed up of being scammed , especially in these harder times, and the state of many resorts leave lots to be desired. Baht to the pound too is putting many off as add in the increased costs of air travel ,up over 100% from a few years ago and it’s killing the market. I’ve had a great run from 1998 and heading back in a few weeks but have said to friends this will probably be my last. No loss to many , I get that but it all adds up. And to be honest the thought of bumping into crowds of Chinese fills me with dread. Hopefully there thin on the ground still .

i have travelled to Thailand countless times and its usually been quite reasonable to do so. Pre Covid I got a Ticket from Manchester return for around £450 . Now having just booked my third trip since last November its just short of £800 return. A big difference and as I have a initial flight also we are talking just under £1000 for a return with no overnight stops. How many families could afford that and this extra 1000 baht is just another nail. Yeah I know if you can afford the current fare thats its no big deal…But it is as so much more has gone up accordingly. Tell you what would willing accept this if they guarantee to get you through immigration without having to queue for ages. If your lucky its pretty quick but two of my last trips its been a nightmare. And as for the faces on the immagration staff ! Smacked crab comes to mind .

Been in Lamphun of all places last 30 days and a bar there stays open till 5 am. Quite a eye opener as its usually quite universal around there that they all close at 12 ish. Apart from Rodeo which was nearer 4 am but previously owned by the Police. New owners now on reopening so not sure who has it now

Within 30 minutes from what point in time? From touch down of the plane, or from opening of the plane doors for disembarkation, or from the first passenger's arrival at the conveyor belt, or what?
Well do be honest I arrived on the 19 th and was amazed as to how quick everything was. Zero queues , loads of immigration booths all manned and the whole process was excellent. Something I never thought I'd say about Swampy. Because It was so quick through passport control had to wait for my luggage a bit but still around 30 minutes after getting of plane. Looked like my flight was the only one though that had arrived around then as the time taken would confirm.

Travelling out from Heathrow on Friday. Royal Jordanian for £543 return. Booked a few months ago though but they were £200 plus less than the next cheapest . Never travelled with them before though. Always Etihad from Manchester.

Clearly not . But sadly is anone suprised by this. I'm not as the only thing that matters to them is money. If word gets out about this any that might come in from Russia will be negated by others not coming because of them bending over for the Russians. Disgraceful decision.

I've done this and as said just went through early what was in effect the day before . They mentioned it but no stamp or fine.

The Thai organisers are the issue here. Yes Liverpool and Man U will have been guaranteed a 'appearance' sum but I'm sure the invite and contact came from the Thais . Its going to be a big rip off sadly for the supporters as they are only going to get a few stars , maybe 2 or 3 , and the rest squad or fringe players . Thats the way it works in early foreign pre season games with players reporting back late after other commitments . Taken from Liverpool Forum
2nd July – Back for pre-season training
12th July – Friendly v Man United in Bangkok
15th July – Friendly v Crystal Palace in Singapore
no way there getting any amount of 'stars' in Thailand playing in that first game and probably both .
