And Thailand has no submarine rescue ship to my knowledge nor has it any qualified rescue crews.

There is one in Singapore https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Swift_Rescue

    One in Vietnam  https://www.asianmilitaryreview.com/2021/08/v

Another here but I don't know where they are  based

The Thai submarines are totally useless without proper engines, and not much use if you have a problem with one and if you need it rescuing.

And its 100% certain they will do. Thai's and maintenance is not a good mix and this is equipment they know nothing about. Complex vessels are Subs .

Make the most of it. Portugal was added and then taken off the red list twice by UK. Won't be long before it has its turn to be added once again. Nowhere can be truly classed as a safe haven for easy travel now.

Heading home to UK then IOM on friday so should be fine. They actually have been very impressive in Portugal and arrival at airport very efficent with loads of people to check paperwork etc. Suitcase available very quickly and on my way . Helped to have QR code and vacination paperwork ready but all in all very smooth , quick operation. Another plus when you think of Swampy !

  3. Have a few Thai's I know travelling on the 1st but they are all living outside LOS for along time and this is the first chance they feel for a couple of years to get back and see family. They really are oblvious to any requirements as they are Thai and they dont need tests etc on arrival. Stayed out of it as all have husbands , who arent going , so wish them well but cant help feeling it wont be as straight forward as they think. Incidentally was in my travel agent last week to book a holiday as like many been waiting for the Thai travel situation to be clearer and they are not booking anyone to visit as they only see it as a potential problem along the way. Ohhh I'm going to Portugal but ideally would have been spending a month or so visiting friends in Lamphun in a perfect world .
