  1. And its 100% certain they will do. Thai's and maintenance is not a good mix and this is equipment they know nothing about. Complex vessels are Subs .
  2. No mention of masks ...guess they will still insist on those .
  3. Well I have news for them. Been looking at flights etc for later in the year as it all seemed to be going in the right direction. Not coming with mandatory face mask and lots of places closed. This Monkeypox and the seemingly actions suggested mean thats me holding off again. Ohh I have absolutly no issues with justfied controls but these now are just taking the P***. Sorry Thailand not getting my money till you sort your act out. And I'm sure I'm not alone thinking this.
  4. This happened to me . Then gf succeeded getting the visa etc plane ticket in her name of course to London and I was to meet her off the plane. Night before she rang me and said she wasnt coming , sorry etc etc . I was gutted naturally but after a week or so I found out through a friend of hers she was planning on using the visa/ticket to go to UK to see a guy she had known for ages. I contacted my passport office and they flagged up British Embassy and called her in. Bottom line is they cancelled her visa and banned her for 10 years from applying for a visa again. She wasnt happy but neither was I and it had cost me lots. Not that was the reason I did what I did. I think she got cold feet , which I get , and even had sent ahead loads of her clothes and stuff for her planned future. While I never really spoke to her again I did of course send her stuff back. Sorry for similar happening to you . Get a good one and happy days but a bad one it can be hell. And yes as others have said not telling UKVI would leave you with a possible difficult situation if anything happened with her travel for other reasons.
  5. I would agree with this. My ex's son went to Uni in CM and the level was similar to what 13/14 y olds did back in UK. Whats more back in the UK he wouldnt have made it to Uni as he was thick. But his mum paid as all that seemed to matter was he was the only one in the village that had been so standing mattered. Crazy really as now he is working selling noodles for around 6k bht a month .
  6. See Thailand abstained in the vote against Russia. What a surprise....not !!
  7. No words , just despicable stand. People are getting blown up daily in there homes as there surroundings are being destroyed . Pity Thailand didn't have the backbone that Ukrainians have !!
  8. Dream on , as usually setting a goal without a clue as to what travellers are saying about travelling to Thailand . Also where I head to usually its mostly closed down.
  9. Well whete I'm sitting it seems they are showing hourly by their stand against Putins lap dogs that they clearly have and want a role. They are stepping up and fighting unlike most of the Russian soldiers captured who thought they were on exercises. Like I pointed out earlier Russia is very fortunate that NATO forces cant fly over Ukraine as that 30 mile convey would be consigned to scrap along with thousands of dead Russian soldiers . Putin has taken a step to far . Sad but he's nothing short of a low life thug . Thoughts and prayers to all in Ukraine ????????❤️????????
  10. You are so wrong. You havent a clue . You belong with the dinosaur who started the need for this post. Ask your Russian buddies how Afghanistan worked out!?? Putin is very fortunate all countries are not allowing there armed forces get involved directly or that 30 mile column of vehicles would be srap now. This is all very sad and not helped by your comment . Ukraine people are incredibly brave , single minded and determined . My heart goes out to them . ????????
  11. Theres those flying pigs reving up again for this weeks fantasy parade
  12. Well as far as I'm concerned theres not a chance I'm visiting any time soon due totally to the russian roulette set of entry requirements . Have been every year since 1998 apart for the last two , obvious reasons , and sometimes twice in a year with a couple of 6 month stays thrown in. I love Thailand , the food and where I stay , Lamphun area , the people . I have a really good mate up there and along with loads of friends who I miss greatly but nope the risk is to great. Already , after hanging on for some sort of sense to be shown , travelled to Portugal for a couple of weeks and just booked to go to Budapest for another 2 weeks and all with no issues with quarantine/ tests etc. Two Thai's I know have just travelled back to see families and had to pay £1400 GBP between them for quarantine stay plus tests and the likes . Not sure of there full expenditure but why would you even consider it and normal tourists wont. I know the travel agent I've been using for these trips have openly said they wont recommend or encourage any bookings into Thailand unless they have family etc there. They can spout all they want regarding pie in the sky projected arrival figures but reality is its not happening. They will be lucky to get 50k a month in my opinion. All very sad but predictable with the Buffaloes in charge. That then , like many others I'm sure , will be me as far as any consideration to travel to Thailand goes till at least November/ December and only then if its guaranteed open without this nonsense and in some cases dishonest testing , taxi's , insurance and Quarantine. Those of you that do travel , good luck and your a lot braver than me or just incredibly stupid.
  13. They have proved they dont. These F35's , if they get them , will end up the same. Not sure they remotely have the capabilities to maintain them never mind fly them
  14. Takes about a year to train a already combat ready pilot to fly F35 's and all training is carried out currently in USA including UK pilots . Its a joint venture with UK instructors to and split between simulator and solo flying. No two seater option. Ground crew also takes along time in training so sorry , cant see this getting off the ground . I dont believe Thai pilots will be at the current standard of F35 training pilots so will take years . Maybe they can park the F35 on the Aircraft carrier
  15. Anyone have any idea as to how many flights coming in internationally. Currently ? And a bit harder how full have they been . Realise thats a big ask but there will be people in the forum who have travelled etc
  16. Heading home to UK then IOM on friday so should be fine. They actually have been very impressive in Portugal and arrival at airport very efficent with loads of people to check paperwork etc. Suitcase available very quickly and on my way . Helped to have QR code and vacination paperwork ready but all in all very smooth , quick operation. Another plus when you think of Swampy !
  17. Just in Portugal for a holiday would have normally spent in Thailand . Usually for 1 month but sadly zero chance of me going under the current rules and regime . Just friends going to see with no g/f there as been there done that not to be repeated. Cant say I dont miss my time in Thailand but arrived in Portugal for 4 weeks , no test on arrival , need masks walking around but all bars / restaurants fully open with zero restrictions. Ohh and wine is mega cheap and very good which is a big bonus!. Yes a little bit dearer than Thailand but infrastructure and lack of scams make up for that. Sad really but until they sort out all the issues I wont be back anytime soon .
  18. Likely many !!! Your being to kind I feel. Where I live the only people booked through 3 travel agents I have friends working at say its only Thai heading back and not all with hubbys etc.
  19. And thats if you in any way believe there figures. For the record I dont. Didnt know airlines had a charity operation now flying at massive losses. Learn something everday !
  20. I'm in the Isle of Man , double jabbed and yes as we speak its open with the restrictions I mentioned. Basically very few and took out insurance which covers me if any changes .
  21. Been sitting tight for months now hoping it would sort itself out and I could believe the efforts they were making . I'm glad I did because I was desperate to visit to catch up with a good friend , no its not a girl and I'm not gay lol , but I still dont believe their figures and theres not a chance in hell I would even attempt to go through the rigmarole needed to currently go . Instead I'm off to Portugal for 4 weeks , no restrictions , test on arrival and thats it. No stupid exorbitant insurance apart from a normal travel insurance that I always take out anyway at £65. Limited mask wearing and everything open so its a no brainer really. I know two travel agents where I live and there not booking anyone to Thailand apart from a few Thai nationals . So thats me now ,unless something drastic happens to improve the deal , till next November as not coming from April till October for obvious reasons.
  22. Have a few Thai's I know travelling on the 1st but they are all living outside LOS for along time and this is the first chance they feel for a couple of years to get back and see family. They really are oblvious to any requirements as they are Thai and they dont need tests etc on arrival. Stayed out of it as all have husbands , who arent going , so wish them well but cant help feeling it wont be as straight forward as they think. Incidentally was in my travel agent last week to book a holiday as like many been waiting for the Thai travel situation to be clearer and they are not booking anyone to visit as they only see it as a potential problem along the way. Ohhh I'm going to Portugal but ideally would have been spending a month or so visiting friends in Lamphun in a perfect world .
