agreed.  In Western terms my 'T' shirt size is 'Large', in Thai terms its XXL , or anywhere between the two.  There is no consistency so i never buy clothes online here.

Yes, a few weeks ago I bought a pair of jeans and 2 pairs of shorts from Tesco. The jeans were labeled size 32, but were bigger and looser around the waist than the size 34 shorts, one of which was noticeably looser than the other. And they were all the same brand!!! No way would I buy clothes online yet the missus does and claims they always fit.

I have never had a problem with Lazada for any of the stuff I have bought, mainly small electronics.

Also which android box model would u recommend? You think i could find the box in a Thai mall?

the best place to buy one is on Lazada, hundreds available there.....searching for  "android smart tv box 2019" gives 388 answers right now, or "streaming media players" gives you 240 (which shows how crap Lazada's search engine is). I think a lot of them are just rebadged generic items, look for ones with the most memory installed. Personally, I've got an NVIDIA Shield which I'm happy with.

  3. Quote

Meanwhile the man in charge has gone into hiding after apparently getting wise to a police and military raid accompanying the forestry officials yesterday.

An alien encounter event planned for tomorrow (Saturday) has now been shelved and it is all quiet at the retreat.

Or maybe he could n't be bothered doing the TM30s for all those aliens and thought it was going to be Immigration coming to get him ....

What i wrote is still true, even if your friends did it there.

Immigration police might accept it, but actually it's supposed to be done at your local police station, just look at the law:

    For the TM28 it says:

"Shall notify the police official of the local police station where such alien resides"

And if you look at the actual form, (http://www.immigrationbangkok.com/files/visa_forms/tm28.pdf) it says no such thing....  the TM28 starts "To the Immigration officer" and ends as being signed at "xxxxx" Immigration office

  5. Assuming you have a laptop, it would be easier to put the VPN on that and then cast to your TV. A friend tried to connect his Samsung via VPN but gave up because it would never work effectively ....and he is a software geek. Samsung TVs have their own operating system, not your usual run of the mill Android.

The UK leased Hong Kong from China for 150 years and that lease expired in 1998

Actually it was only the New Territories and the outlying islands that were leased, under the Nangking Treaty China ceded Hong Kong Island to the British in perpetuity, and also the Kowloon peninsula a few years later. So in theory the UK “could” have kept a lot of Hong Kong but it would not have been practical.

  7. I think you will find that the other houses have a cesspit not a septic tank....usually a number of concrete rings on top of each other. Proper septic tanks are a relatively new addition to Thai plumbing and are completely different from the old cesspits. The outflow into the leach field from a properly sized and working septic tank shouldn’t be smelly. If it is you having probably killed off all the bacteria by pouring chemicals into the system.

Why, do you question jackdd's report? This TM30 issue has the Immigration folks in total disarray, primarily with the discrepancy between Immigration offices on what's required. CM had, up to now, been pragmatic about no reporting necessary for in country travel. That went against the grain of the overall law. So, now we're being rolled up into what's becoming the "NO SH*T" countrywide requirement. However, wiser heads will prevail -- oh, wait a minute -- where is it I now live....

He quoted post #2, he did not question the OP’s report. Perhaps you should go back and read the absurd post he quoted to see what he meant ?

  9. They obviously have not updated that section 36 since the aftermath of the "Manhattan rebellion" ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhattan_Rebellion ) when the navy's "gunships" were banned from coming up river any more !

Sounds like a wonderful adventure if you can pull it off, but just one worry ....just what are you going to do about the TM30 every night ? ????

A few months ago I did see a large yacht with the stars and stripes tied up near the Saphan Taksin pier (Bangkok port?) so presumably you can get a yacht at least as far as that.

I understand. But please explain to me your error message "This app is compatible with some of your devices" or "This app is incompatible with all your devices". I really would like to understand these messages. What devices are they talking about if you are using only 1.

Your Google account knows which devices are registered to your account, so in this case he may have a computer with the Chrome browser, and a phone, both linked to his US account, and that is why “all of his devices are incompatible”

With his Thai account it could be that an old phone is incompatible, so only some devices are compatible.
