Now that the junta and senators have decided the issue, every PM candidate can only be nominated once. So PT's nominees can be rejected by the senators, and every other candidate from the democratic coalition....which would leave the junta nominees as last man standing. Minority government ahead ?

TV Channel 7 is currently owned by the Royal Thai Army through Bangkok Broadcasting & Television.
Perhaps anyone affiliated with the RTA should be excluded from holding or running for any office? You know, to avoid a conflict of interest.
Ah, but the generals don't run for office, they just take over. That's the difference, and once there, the rules don't apply to them

Well I did read one article in the BP which suggested they could keep it up until the senators have been retired next May, but that would mean the general stays as caretaker PM, and who knows what he might arrange in the meantime ! There is also a provision that if they cannot agree on any of the nominated PM candidates then an "outsider" PM can be roped in, but I don't know what the criteria is for that to happen.

It would appear that "the ayes have it", as they say... ????
Not here when abstaining is a "NO" vote...as is not even turning up to vote. 44 were not there for the vote, which shows what they think about democracy.

My gut feeling is a sufficient number of senators will abstain so Pita will be elected as Prime Minister.
If they abstain that is effectively a no vote...the new PM needs a majority of the 750 eligible votes from MPs and senators, so 376 no matter how many actually vote.

No person shall exercise the rights or liberties to overthrow the democratic regime of government with the King as Head of State. Any person who has knowledge of an act under paragraph one shall have the right to petition to the Attorney-General to request the Constitutional Court for ordering the cessation of such act
Unless you are a general, in which case it is perfectly acceptable to overthrow a democratically elected government.

As at Dec last year for the DLT on the northern ring road, a medical certificate, certificate of address, copy of passport. There is a "clinic" in front of the DLT for your med cert, I got my address certificate from tourist police but I've heard that job is back to Immigration now ? Only had to do the traffic light colours and braking tests.

Or maybe she was eating somebody's sausage as per RTP requirements.... stating that it was strictly in line with Royal Thai Police requirements.

Last year it was 180 baht for 2 days+ in the main carpark. It's calculated on a 24 hour basis, mine was just over 48 hours. There seemed to be a free parking area just before the main car park ?

I'm surprised the op thinks this is a thing. Most (all) of us produce one year leases. Why would op think that he should be given a one year extension based on a three month contract?
Do they ? when I first changed from ED to retirement I had, from memory, about 2 months left on my lease. My landlord said don't worry about new lease, leave whenever you want, or stay as long as you want. So no 12 month leases since, and never a problem with Immigration come extension time.

As evidence of alleged interference, the protesters brought up US Ambassador Robert Godec’s “call” for the Thai government to promptly release the election results,
The BP said pretty much the same today about the EC confirming the results sooner than the 2 months it appears to want, so is the Post also interfering ?

They present it as he want to abolish it....I didn't read up what he really said. Do you have examples of overly punitive penalties....Examples that can be written without getting problems? I only know a few very old cases and that would have resulted in jail terms in my country if made against the president as well...but jail terms of months not decades like here. I recall it was also topic of a speech ............... (which I don't want to discuss....which actually supports your argument....if I am afraid of discussing something rather positive than the law is wrong)
Pita has said that he wants to specify exactly what constitutes an insult to the monarchy under 112. As currently nothing is specified, which is why a teenage girl is currently locked up and charged for insulting HM under section 112 for livestreaming somebody else painting 112 on a temple wall. An accomplice to graffiti yes, but is that an insult to the King ? He also wants limits on who can lay a complaint, to prevent it being abused as now anybody can lay a complaint against somebody they have a grudge against.

So what does he mean when he says he "respects the results"?
He respects the final result, after the referee (ie the EC) has sin-binned the other teams and it becomes a case of last man standing wins.....

There are multiple constituencies in Thailand - try for yourself here https://www.ectreport.com/overview - where Bhumjaithai, Palang Prachart and the United Thai Nation Party have won constituency seats, but failed miserably in the Party List vote in the same constituency. The voting in many of these areas makes no sense. Massive numbers of votes for Anutin, Prawit or Prayuth's party for the candidate, then Move Forward and/or Pheu Thai get far and away the most votes in the Party List from the same constituency.
In the UK, it would be like voting for the Tory candidate, and then voting again for the party but putting your cross next to the Labour Party. It's pure nonsense. My missus just explained the logic....people vote for the local candidate who paid them, then for the party they really wanted ! I pointed out that she had got "expenses" paid for going to 4 different meetings, so others were probably the same....so why still vote for one candidate you don't really like.

But wasn't it said that PT is not interested in a coalition with MF?
That was when they thought they were going to have a landslide victory, and before the MF late surge in the polls.

There are 400 constituency MPs, and another 100 from the party list (in other words, proportional representation) voted on a separate ballot paper. So people might vote for one party for the local rep, and another for the party list.

unless they are going to vote for the unpatriotic, democratic, "bad guys", in which case 30 days in the slammer will mean one less vote for them. Cannot vote when he's in jail!

You do realize that since they are now 2 independent parties, each of them needs only half of those 126 MP's?
you do realize that the house of Representatives has 500 members....100 list MPs and 400 constituency members. By the most recent polls PT and MFP are going to get around 2 thirds of the list MPs, which leaves the PPRP, UTN, democrats, BJT and other minor parties to fight over the scraps. PPRP and UTN will be lucky to get 15 between them. where are they going to win over 110 constituency seats ? Not the north (Shinawatra stronghold), not Issan (PT territory except for Buriram..Anutins home ground), not Bangkok (democrats and Move Forward).
Even if they get your 126 MPs that won't get them government, perhaps you are thinking of the Prime Minister vote with the 250 senators. It would n't be a unanimous vote for Prayut this time, their vote will be split between P1 and P2 (and perhaps others when senators see the writing on the wall). Even if they did do a deal and voted 100% for either of them to get 376 votes, to go against a landslide vote for the pro democracy parties in the House of Reps would be asking for trouble this time

Sometimes I watch videos from US home renovation guys. It's almost funny when the talk about 15 3/8 and 12 1/16 and try to add it up. And then of course they need x gallons of whatever to work. Hilarious.
And then Thailand mixes it all up by having stuff like steel beams in 2inch by 1 inch, but 6m long, and a thickness of 1.6mm. Or trying to buy a length of wire in kilograms ...OK Somchai, how many kgs of barbed wire for a 50m fence ?....blank look.

Thanks for the suggestion. My current plan is to start with 10,000 litres and leave expansion room for more tanks. I 'll first asses if i can fill up all the tanks with rainwater ????
At my current house we are using around 4000 litres per month.
I was going to suggest the same thing, as for the 3 months in the middle of rainy season you could get at least 50,000 litres of runoff each month from roof and carport. When it rains, it RAINS.

Pita ordered to suspend doing his duties as an MP

Now that it is decided a PM candidate only gets one shot, the senators have even more power. They can combine with the junta parties to reject every nominee from PT and the other democratic coalition parties, until Anutin or Prawit are last men standing and vote for them. A minority government ahead perhaps ?
